Enjoyed the video. I’m adding mgb front disks to my TD and appreciated the walk through. One thing though, your bleed sequence is opposite to the way I learned in tech class. You bleed from closest to master out, thereby ensuring no air from the previously dry legs can work back into your fluid stream as would happen in the order you describe. Or so I was taught. Love your car, and your Videos!
Thanks for your comments and good luck with the TD. I've always bled the brakes with the longest brake line 1st which in an old RHD British car is usually the passenger side rear. Cheers
Thanks for uploading these. Will be doing this on my 1100 which uses the same calipers. They’re not leaking or binding but I’d like to be on the safe side and completely overhaul the brake system as the car has been sitting for over 15 years. Could you tell me the torque figures for the two bolts that hold halves together?
Glad the videos are of some help to you. I couldn't find a specific Torque setting for this. This link will take you to the mgexp website www.mgexp.com/article/mgb/pdf/mgb-torque-settings.pdf where you can download a list of MGB Torque settings in pdf format. I used the "General Torque Values By Fastener Size" on the last page. Hope this helps.
Be warned! The steel retaining ring, which holds in the outer seal, is fragile. If you catch an edge while inserting it, you will deform it beyond repair. (Fortunately, I still had the ones I had taken out, which were in usable condition.)
