Personally I don't feel any difference: Haven't been able to get any mods before the change, haven't gotten any after the changes :c

not gonna lie if I try to mod for someone I just feel like a lost baby. I have no idea how to do that kind of thing. Of course I could look for obvious mistakes but I don't think that that is what mods are looking for - stuff like what AI-mod would already pick up on. @StaroaX

a video idea:
organize an interview with fieryrage, emilia, azer, and/or delis to discuss how being a high-rank player affects their mapping choices and how people view these map(per)s.
For me mods are really valuable. I don't have many friends playing Osu! which means that most hype I get is from modders. Though since reaching the requirement (5) some months ago I have been unable to get a BN to my map ._. The frustrating thing is not knowing if your doing something wrong.
hype is arbitrary and means nothing when it comes to the actual quality of your map btw
@@turquoise7817 The value that hype provides for me is the exposure the map can potentially get through being placed higher in lists. I know it doesn't mean anything for quality.
@@Danimineiro it doesnt really get placed any higher or anything and BNs don't pay more attention to maps with more hypes or whatnot, so my point is that getting 5 or more hypes doesn't mean you're entitled to a BN
@@turquoise7817 If you go to Beatmap listing, Wip and pending you can sort by nomination. Maps with more hype are placed higher. I don't think I should be entitled to a BN, I just haven't managed to get to one.
Look I don't really want to argue here and I'm sorry if my frustrated outburst of a comment negativity affected your experience.
I don't think that this thread is enough to fully communicate the experience I had during my last year of mapping or anything related to it.
If you are really interested, which I'm quite sure you're not, you can PM me on the website or something but I'd rather stop this comment chain here. I assume you don't have fun commenting on this either.

@@zz-uk8iv Yeah, if he hadn't said that I would have just been like 'new pp vid when' but I was voicing my note of the fact that he might need to change his stance and make a vid due to the utter breakdown of the ranking system at this point
but thats exactly why he tries to ignore it, because its that broken, basically one of the cancerous parts of mapping. and honestly, pp mapping isnt that broken, i can easily see how it can just become more insane and broken in the future
It's at the point where it needs to become a rankability issue. End of story. Regardless of how much work gets put in to the pp system shit like that being allowed undermines all the effort people put in and devalues the system. If the intention is for the ranking system to be taken Seriously letting some of the shit popping up now and the last 2-3 months stay ranked needs to be addressed. A line has to be drawn and a example made.
Btw your not gonna see pishi talk about it in a video. He's said more then once that he dilibertly avoids talking about pp.

I feel like an explanation of what is meant by mods somewhere at the beginning of the video would be helpful. I'v played a lot of Osu but I have no idea what this video is talking about, maybe it just isn't for me.

If you want improvements to the UX for moddingv2 (for example the Watching), you should create an issue on the osu-web github page, or discuss it in the osu!dev discord. It seems like an issue that should be relatively easy to fix so complaining about it in a video doesn't seem like the most efficient way to get a solution.

Is a 672 BPM map rankable?
yeah if it's mapped well enough
672 BPM can give rise to actual notelock issues even with only one circle mapped every 2/1 (not even 1/1). You can still rank it if it's mapped well enough but you need to be extremely careful.

Do you have a video where it explains how the modding process works.. or a whole video from step 1: Your map is done, what now? type of video.
I have been mapping for some time now and I kinda want to get my maps ranked but I don't know how the whole process works.. If you don't have a video like that uploaded would you be interested on making something like that?
Pretty useless to make a whole video on what you should do after uploading maps. After you upload a map, you post your maps in modding queue forums or maybe ask someone personally for a mod, after you get 5 hypes and feel like your map is ready, then contact a nominator, it's really this simple.

Ask for mods in mod queues.
Ask for mods in the mod queues, or ask friends. Then once you feel your map is ready for rank ask BNs in game, in forum pm, e.t.c and hopefully it should be bubbled and if there's no problems get qualified.

Yeah, mods are just players with their own accounts too, just like the mappers. Anyone can mod and anyone can map, as one mod confirmed to me. He hasn't even got any maps ranked, FYI. (But he is quite helpful, giving me some tips that were spot on about my map's quality so far.)

2018 lazy modding, bns are lazy, new mappers cant get mods
i'm decently new to osu and the community but i feel really annoyed that my highest pp was from a map i randomly put on duple speed and fc on my second try...like i spend 100 on tries on some of the other in my top 10
You need to FC maps to get pp, so you won"t get any by playing maps over your level. Stop playing hard maps over and over, get good accuracy S on maps you can FC instead
Terrible advice. Fc’ing maps slightly over your level is how you improve. Going for fc’s on maps below your level is basically just farming unless you just find the beatmap enjoyable and think an fc would be cool on it.
i fc all my top maps in pp but this one specifically was so much easier than others that are lower on pp
bub1eboy Plz enjoy game. There’s no “correct” way to play. Just play maps you think are fun and try to fc them. Don’t even worry about pp.
i'm a competitive gamer i like getting pp but that's not to say i don't play maps i just enjoy for the music like most touhou music and or s3rl. for me the fun is mainly improving myself and fc hard maps so seeing what i find most fun being rewarded with numbers and nice.
