    Do they look pretty. My husband loves Cherry tomatoes and grows them and the peppers. We're going to give those a try. We loved your pickled egg recipe! Deb from Canada!

      Thanks very much Deb, yes I love to grow peppers and tomatoes in my garden. I can't wait till spring gets here.

    Great video! I love any sort of "quick, refrigerator pickles." The Mega-marts are making any sort of processed or quick pickling a lost art. I can remember my Great-Grandmother on my Mother's side, used to make sauerkraut from Brussels Sprouts.
    We need to keep old recipes alive. Some of my Family's favorites are lost, because nobody wrote them down, and the creators or those who knew, are now past.
    Sorry to ramble, but you struck a cord in me. (Subscribed)

      Thanks for watching. We made several quarts of these and they are absolutely wonderful. We also made pickles but I didn't get a video of it. Thanks for subscribing !!!

      Thanks, I ended up doing three quart jars. I will probably give at least one away.

    Loved this video! I'll be doing tomatoes and cucumbers this year as well. I hope to make some pickle relish this summer because just about all that is available in the stores are full of corn syrup. :)

      Thanks, my wife loves relish but we have never made any. It sounds like a great idea.

    This is an amazing recipe. Thank you for sharing. I will do this instead of giving my cherry tomatoes away. Can I do this with. 4 inch tomatoes also?..? thanks

      Thanks for watching, you will enjoy them very much. I have never tried this with large tomatoes. The brine will penetrate into the tomatoes and they might be strong due to the volume of brine that would be inside. It might be worth a try but I've just never even thought about it.
      Have a great week,

    Good video. I have done a similar recipe using rice wine vinegar for a different taste

    Will the pickled tomatoes still be edible after more than 2 months in the fridge? Can the jars be kept on the countertop after 2 months in the fridge because space is limited. Thank you.

      Most people say they are only good for two months. When we make them they get ate so quickly that they never make it that long.

    Could you hot bath this recipe for long term storage?

    • @SouthernCountryLiving
      @SouthernCountryLiving  5 лет назад +1

      Thanks for watching. Yes you could do that and they would last for a long time as long as they seal up good.

      SouthernCountryLiving just what I was thinking. I was wondering why you let the brine cool before adding to the jar.
