When I got there the recruiter took my info. No letter nada!! Trying to get info was pulling teeth. Eventually someone said that I did not have 20/20 vision therefore I was not what the air force was looking for. I wanted to fly.( Still do. Working on pilots license). I didn't know better, I was a kid and alone. Didn't know how to stand up for myself yet. No aunts, uncles, grandmas or Grandpa's. NOBODY. My father was a Vietnam vet. I would be a pilot if he was here

I don't know if this is correct. I read the cost just to launch an F-16 off an aircraft carrier is over $10,000.00 per aircraft, per launch. That includes everything ground crew, to fuel.
Much of that such as crew will be fixed cost, so an aircraft carrier’s cost is really for the capability if/when it’s needed so training, maintenance, patrols all needed to keep sharp. And the existence of carriers will itself have a geopolitical effect even if never goes to battle, but is expected to be able to if needed

I don't know if this is correct. I read the cost just to launch an F-16 off an aircraft carrier is over $10,000.00 per aircraft, per launch. That includes everything ground crew, to fuel.
Much of that such as crew will be fixed cost, so an aircraft carrier’s cost is really for the capability if/when it’s needed so training, maintenance, patrols all needed to keep sharp. And the existence of carriers will itself have a geopolitical effect even if never goes to battle, but is expected to be able to if needed
Fuel is the cheapest part of the budget
