Merry Christmas to you I will be 76 shortly and have been a stick bow shooter perdy much my hole life i kind of put hunting with a bow on the back burner for quite awhile after watching and listening to you I realized I couldn't shoot that 60 lb bow any more you have inspired me to buy a new long bow in 45 lb that I can handle and get back in the game stay safe and happy hunting
Big fletchings do help quickly straighten out, when necessary, arrow in flight. Particularly fletchings that are tall, as opposed to long. I also use 5" length, but cut them bit taller. Good luck with the huntin'.
Nice bow. Just finished my osage this spring 50 at 26 inches. Best shooting selfbow I’ve ever made.hand painted the front and used tennis racket tape on handle. No tip overlays, and fast flight string. I don’t hunt as much as I used to but I did get a shot this year and blew it. Your bow looks a lot like mine. Love your videos.

One of my goals for 2024 is to build a hickory self bow, I cut the stave last summer, just letting it dry until late spring and then gonna give it a shot, pun intended 🤣

@robertcarte95 I made a osage bow last year and was told that you can. They are all over north east Texas so I need to dry out a stave and try it.
where do you get the reflective tape from? what is that tape??
I get it from 3 rivers archery. Reflective arrow wraps. I cut it in narrow strips.
Did you finish it with anything? It looks like a shiny polish finish on it? I started a bow but it broke first pull and it wasn’t polished looking
I sprayed it with poly from a can.
