Classical Guitars or as some call it Nylon String Guitars is a different world altogether. While the music theory remains the same, the playing style, melodies, tone and even the postures differ from a steel string guitar. Beginners often get confused as in to go for a steel string guitar or a nylon string guitar. Since that is a brief conversation / debate to have we thought to help out in another way by selecting two best classical guitars under 10k popular in India. These Guitars are well built and is the standard size to have. The Yamaha C40 is more rounder and perhaps a bassy sound while the Cort AC100dx seem to give a brighter sound. Both are equally good in its own space and can be chosen by the listener as to what suits to their ears. One major advantage on the Cort AC100dx is that it has a truss rod which is an essential thing for the Indian climate. Not that a bend neck on a classical guitar is not repairable without the truss rod, But truss rod is always an easier bet.

C40 is more weighted towards midrange where Cort is balance throughout the frequency range.
C40 is more bassier but upper frequencies are more pominent in Cort.
Cort has better overtones and undertones overall more clear and complex.

Both sound great for the same price range. Just a matter of preference. I prefer the beautiful warm sound on the C40. Nice video, Great playing.
I'm a beginner guitarist, should I buy Cort AC-100DX OP, Yamaha C30M II, Ortega RST5MBK or Cascha HH 2138 EN ? Which one is the best?
Yamaha has more of a mellow sound while Cort has an open sound.
But Cort comes with an adjustable truss rod and a better fretboard. Yamaha's fretboard is painted so it will have marks on it after the the paint is worn out.

Overall the c40 sounds warmer and the cort sounds brighter as demonstrated in the 3rd song Lagrima

Whats the difference between AC100dx and AC100?
AC100 DX has an adjustable truss rod, and AC100 doesn't.

@saadmominn same as AC100 but semi-gloss finish... AC100 is open pore matte finish.
AC100SG doesn't have a truss rod.
In my opinion, if you want an entry level excellent classical guitar, get a Cordoba C1M, it's awesome 👌

Hello, may I ask, is this quitar by Yahama version C40, or is it C40II? I've found that the in my country it is pretty much impossible to find the original, mahaghony using version. Instead the version C40II is using meranti. So, I am wondering, if that version is going to have also so warm sound in the mid-range.

Cannot assure about the meant variant as we haven’t got our hands on it.
