I've had a guitar for many years and most of that time it has been stored away - forgotten. On many an occasion I have tried to learn guitar, in numerous ways, but have always failed and gotten frustrated in the process. This happened so often that I came to a conclusion that some people are music players and others are music listeners. I would now like to scrap that statement because after finding this channel I have been able to do something I never imagined I could do... play GUITAR. I used to think that I'd never experience the adrenalin rush and simply the feeling of being able to pick up a guitar, there and then, and just burst into song, jamming to a catchy tune. I would just like to say thanks to this channel for making a life long ambition of mine a reality. This video was the first song I ever learned to play and I am glad as it is by my favourite band. Anyone out there who thinks that they can't learn to play guitar, just visit this channel and I promise, with the right determination and perseverance, you can do it. Marty is the best.
C Delany 30 min? More like 2 minutes, just look up the tabs, it’s really a very, very easy song. There’s not even a solo, entire song is basically just the riff repeating itself over and over.

Marty, would you consider doing a tutorial on John Lennon's "Whatever Gets You Through The Night". There's no lessons on the internet and I love this song
Hey Mr. Schwartz... I just got my first ever guitar a couple days ago! I have never touched a guitar but I am a fast learner. I was wondering if I could request a song lesson. It’s Love of My Life by Queen. However, the live, acoustic guitar version written by Brian May. I can’t find a tutorial simple enough on RUclips and I feel that you are a very good instructor and explain concepts well. That is why I am requesting this song. This song is what inspired me to get into guitar in the first place! Thank You Sir!

I am a beginner and I’m kinda rubbish at riffs so I’ve been trying to ease myself into doing them seeing as I’m not too great, I’ve been practicing for around 10 minutes now and I’m getting the hang of this one. So I’m gonna keep going until I can play this perfectly

A great song to learn for a number of reasons. 1. For someone getting into guitar its a great song to play along to in order to work on tempo 2. Its a great song for introducing how to count measures and transition between different parts of the song 3. Great for playing at various speeds to introduce concept of muscle memory and programming brain to learn on a subconcious level 4. Its absolutely perfect for advanced players who can sing and play but get tripped up on certain songs that involve playing riffs while singing. Being able to play and sing this will make almost everything else seem a bit easier or at least less intimidating. The beginning verse and second half of the 2nd verse along with pre-chorus are especially difficult because they involve singing and playing two different melodies as the same time. The chorus matches the words with the picking but can still be a challenge at first - the pre-chorus (starts with unusually high falsetto that can be sung in place of a backup singer) is easier than the first verse because you can at least divide it up into three parts - That first verse (practically 1/3 of the song) is killer - even after getting the riff into subconcious memory there is still a whole learning phase that involves singing while playing it in order to get the combination of voice and guitar into you memory bank. There are tough first verses with AM, RU Mine comes to mind, but nothing quite like whats going on between voice and guitar in the beginning of this tune - fortunately there is usually a 2nd verse that is not accompanied by guitar in these songs - think of them as a victory lap.
