"Caoineadh Eoghain Ruadh" is a slow air I played at my final performance in August 2022 for the MA Irish Traditional Music Performance at the Irish World Academy, University of Limerick.
🎵 CAOINEADH EOGHAIN RUADH (Lament for Owen Roe): This is a caoineadh (lament) that I have loved for many years. I associate it with the playing of slow air master Tony MacMahon in particular, but was also influencesd by interpretations of this tune by my main tutor in UL Tommy Fitzharris, accordion player Peter Carberry and concertina player Niamh Ni Charra.
