I bought one of those 3 years back for $175. Insanely dependable and never fails. Love it.
Yah. I was wondering what he was talking about with failures. I put 5k rounds through mine with almost no issues. Most were ammo itself
Designed and built like a TANK, made to compete for the U.S. military contract, thus the lanyard loop. Beretta won the contract. I am a firm believer that any U.S. military OR police weapon should be made in THIS country.
Same, but almost 20 years back. First pistol as well, bout a week after I turned 21. I've put at least 5k thru it, everything from expensive +P hyper hollowpoints to the shittiest Russian steel case stuff that smells like cat piss when you shoot it and never had a problem. Doesn't like to be limpwristed is the only bad thing I can say about it, inexperienced female shooters have had problems with ejection.
Aussie here, the fact he got a gun for Christmas is the most American thing I've ever heard in my life
I've gotten a few for Christmas and given a few as well. Since I live in a private sale state, I've bought and sold guns in a parking lot and strangers homes as well.
I got a number of mine for birthday and Christmas presents growing up…in Canada (but rural western Canada, much different mentality out here than the Canada you’ll usually hear about on the news haha)
I got my first shotgun for my birthday when I was 10, second was a rifle at 12, another rifle at 13 for Christmas, and a pistol at 21.
I bought my son a shotgun for Christmas, he was two months old.
I got my first gun for Christmas, and a few for my birthday. Got my first rifle on my 7th birthday. If BB guns count, I got my first on Christmas when I was 5. America 🇺🇸 😁
That trigger! Its like the ones in my dreams, where you're just pulling it back as much as you can to try and fire the gun, but its just not happening. Have that dream all the time, anyone else?
I have that dream all the time. The harder I squeeze, the more it resists firing.
I've had that dream quite a few times myself. Also the one where I'm punching someone with all I have and it does nothing to the person.
My first was a nickel-plated Jennings 9mm.
It cracked after 500rds or so.
MVia
HAHA!!! I still have mine as a reminder.
Ten rounds is not enough, pray for us Californians, brothers.
mitchell nelms or pray for us aussies it so hard to get a firearm over here
My first gun is a Glock 17 Gen 2, as I am one of the millions of first-time gun owners this year. 🙂
Gen 2? Wow. I thought all those would be museum pieces in people's safes by now. Can't go wrong with Glock though 👌.
Mine too. I sold it and got a springfield xd 45 a few years later. No regrets either way. Love them both.
Good for you! A great big 2A welcome to you. Train/practice. Carry if you can. A weapon in a drawer or a safe somewhere when you need it, right now, is useless. 100% of home invasion shootings happen in the home, carry there or buy more stash guns. Outside the home. . .we don’t venture where we know we will need it. Avoid, see and avoid.
It is a responsibility. Sheep, Sheep Dog, Shepard. Choose your role for you, and your new capabilities.
Btw my first Gun - Glock 1989, G17, still a winter carry. G19 and two 43’s. Never got the feeling for the 26. Appendix carry 95 out of 100 days outside the house. Hip carry in a Fobus holster, OTWB at home. Miami should rig for the other 5 days, G19 only in the shoulder rig. Always a carry spare mag.

My first gun as well, purchased right after college (Eary 2000’s). Bought it just a few years before Ruger discontinued them, although they will still service them (I sent mine in for reconditioning a few years ago, and ruger was awesome. Replaced used springs at no cost to me).
Love this gun. Accurate enough, great “duty” gun, and goes bang every time. Like they say, it’s ugly but built like a tank.
Pro tip: buy a hogue wrap around grip on it. It’s a game changer.
I would love to see a plethora of “first _____ I ever owned” from you Scott! I love your content

Also my first handgun (and first firearm). I bought it right when I turned 21 and I've put a lot of rounds through it over the years.
Mine is ultra-reliable. I always loved how chunky/mechanical it feels. Every pull of the trigger you can feel/hear the slide come back, the hammer getting cocked, etc.
I still have it but I don't shoot it anymore.

Well I see we have another club member. Love finding out how many of us started out w this blaster, really brings generations together. Was raised on my grandpa's P89, & now have my own
My father gave me a S&W model 457 .45 on my 21st birthday. It was also the first firearm i shot when i was 10-12 years old. Sentimental value of that gun is through the roof
As a Demolitia member I’ve always thought Scott was terrible but I was COMPLETELY wrong
I think Scott might be a nicer guy.
Vegas Rebel nice? Yes. Nicer? No.!
Well lets be honest, most gun channels are pretty similar to each other. Most of them are never ending variations of " here's a gun I was given or I bought with all my youtube money, lets go shoot a bunch of typical things that we can buy from walmart and then say how much we love the gun and how reliable it is." Scott does a pretty good job of putting his spin on it and is quickly falling into the niche of big bore revolvers, which I myself happen to like. I'm a little tired or seeing 9mm do the same thing all the time.
JonTee Matt is the king of intros, that really separated demo ranch. KB does a good job too. Both are more fun to watch than other gun channels.
@POOR PIRANO Oh definitely. I consider Paul Harrell the best in giving actual practical advice. And not being egotistical douche in the process
Matt is going to sneak onto your range and start leaving eggplant everywhere- but don’t tell Mere
After shooting all those eggplants and watermelons they will be growing all over the range.
Yeah but they squashed that beef.
Cameron B they might have squashed that beef but I can see these 2 becoming good friends and pranking each other for awhile
Nostalgia kicks in to overdrive.
Also please do a first owned series I'd enjoy it.
I turned 21 in 2002. My first handgun was a Beretta 92FS "United We Stand" edition . Won't ever sell that gun. My first rifle was a Remington 597 and first shotgun was Mossberg Maverick 88. Still have those too 🥰
Damn looking at old videos makes me appreciate your channel so much. we need you man get better soon!

That interesting feature is standard on S&W M&P pistols. I really like it, it throws people off if they're watching. Especially the range staff, apparently it's not as well known as it should be.
Standard feature on many CZ pistols also
That intro, lol, and the "watermelon time" gets me every...time.
"Such a nifty feature"
My first hand gun was given to me when I was 3. Semi automatic squirt gun. Got it for Xmas. I was so pumped. Hit everyone. No miss fires no jams. Surprisingly it was lost the next day. I think my parents tossed it in the trash. Man, I miss that gun.
Scott: This was my first gun. I love this thing.
Also Scott: Thats a nifty feature.
Eggplant is the source of all hatred
love the intro kentucky
Every time he said “nifty feature” 😂
My first was a Ruger P90, and I still have it. It eats everything I feed it, hardball, hollow points, truncated cones, and semi-wadcutters.
There are bullet holes in here!
" Oh yeah, those are SPEED holes! The holes make it go faster!"
Less wind resistance
As VGG would say, "weight reduction"..
D'oh!
Had the P90 in 45. The Redhawk in the 7 1/2 barrel ended up being the gem in my collection 👍😎
My first pistol was a Ruger P95DC. I still have it. Still accurate and reliable. My wife likes to shoot it now after I bumped up to a 45Acp. My dad had one too. $300 brand new. Not bad.
First pistol I fired was a Browning Hi Power. First pistol I owned was a Heritage Rough Rider. .22 LR/.22 Mag.
Glad you got another Ruger

After a night I can't remember, I found an economy size can of whipped cream. Shot it with a .357. It flew 20 yards, hit my shooting glasses and covered me head to toe in whipped cream 🤦♂️
I knew what gun it was as soon as I saw the silhouette!
That's the second hand gun I ever owned. And I still have it!
It's great pistol to shoot. Works with every shot. I even have a few 30 round mags for it.
My first pistol was a Bernadelli 22lr. Still have it too.
Thanks for the video Scott! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Kudos. I knew it was Ruger couldn't tell P85 P89 or P90. I have a P90 45 acp. All P series guns are great.
Was hoping for the P85. That was my first. Dad bought it for my 16th from a SFC he worked with in Berlin.
P-89 was my first hand gun as well. Picked it up in 2003 and still have it. Never had a problem out of it. Built like a tank!!
Yeah I think everyone's first gun in the 90's was a Ruger P89 or 95. They looked hella cool in the movies and everyone wanted one.
imagine turning 21 and your dad gives you a handgun
"son, i love you, but we live in Texas so its mandatory that everyone carry a gun with them."
Loved this. My first pistol was a P95 that I had already paid for and picked up on my 21st birthday. Still a great pistol that is loads of fun. It also made me a Ruger fan, for sure.
Love my Ruger and Taurus pistols.
Ruger gp100 is my favorite though.
I thought that was donut operator in the beginning 😂
My dad gave me a p89 when i was 9. Anytime we went out in the woods he let me carry it. I'm 23 and i still carry it as my edc. it's a tank and I've never had a jam after thousands of rounds of ALL types of ammo including reloads my great grandfather made in the 80's and 90's. Dad had a p93dc and same story with that one. OLD SCHOOL COOL!

P89 was my second 9mm, still have it 30 years later. Never had an issue with it.
I love how the little skits in the beginning have nothing to do with what’s going to happen in the video, it’s just random lolll
Dang, I've bought every pistol I've ever owned, in fact, I bought my mom and dad their first handgun
Ruger P89 was my first (and only) firearm and I love it!
I've always had my safety on when reloading, happy to have learned of that feature!
My first gun was a Ruger Redhawk 44 Mag (still have it) and my second, but first semi-auto, was the Ruger P-89 DC. Don't have the P-89 anymore and now, after watching this video, I've got an itch that I'm trying HARD not to scratch. Thanks for THAT Scott! Glad to see you are healing up well btw. God bless you sir!
My first pistol was the Ruger P90 the 45 acp version of the P89. The only time it has ever malfunctioned is when a friend of mine showed up with some weird very old ammo that said it was low-velocity practice .45 ACP ( I already thought .45 ACP was fairly low velocity) ammo that had the date Aug. 1932 printed on the box. About every third round of that stuff would stove pipe.

My grandfather had the Ruger P90, which was the single stack .45ACP version of this gun. Absolute chonk of a pistol, and I was dead accurate with it.
I bought my 1st pistol when I turned 21. It was also a ruger. Ruger GP100 revolver with a 6" barrel. It was silver and gorgeous.
I had a feeling that when the motorcycle buyer said “eggplant” that you’d give him a piece of your mind....
He is physically giving him a piece of his mind? That is one strong word to use around Scott

Not only do I love everything you do, but seeing cool stuff like this would be neat
I Wish i could own handguns here where i live! We got pretty "silly" laws over here... And all day long i knew the Ruger P89 In this video. I used to buy Guns and Ammo and Handguns magazines all the time when i was in highschool.
Where do you live? England?
My first handgun was a ruger Blackhawk 357, when I was 14 or so, the first handgun I purchased as a adult (right on my 21st birthday) was a AMT/OMC backup in 380...in its day a very popular backup for law enforcement.
My first handgun was a Hi Point. All I can say is it worked and the price was unbeatable. I was able to gain some experience and learn what features to really look for in my next handgun choice. Sold the Hi-Point for a M&P Shield 2.0.
I've heard that Matt from Demolition ranch bought one of those in elementary school, but it was his 12th handgun and he hit every bullseye he shot at from the start.

Also on the topic of suggestions, I was thinking ideas like vids about your favorite pistol or revolver or sniper or whatever else. Another thing is maybe "top videos" where you have top (5 or 10 or whatever #) best or worst or unique or fun weapons or whatever topic you want. And now because of this video, I came up with the suggestion of doing videos each dedicated to a gun with a unique feature like that auto slide release feature with the gun of this vid. These are all just suggestions for if you want
My favourite sniper is Craig Harrison.
My first gun was a p90. Inherited it from my uncle who passed away. Still love it immensely.
i gotta say when i ask someone what their first gun is, the P90 would probably be the last thing i would expect them to say

My first pistol was a P89 as well. I got a bad reload from the local range and bulged the barrel on it and while I was waiting for them to repair it I traded it for a P90DC he had on the shelf and ran that for years. Great, cheap guns.
