WORLD FAMOUS "GROUPIE" PAM DES BARRES! - The BD Freeman Show Favs

Tonight, world-famous author and progenitor of the word "groupie" PAMELA DES BARRES joins BD Freeman to discuss her wild times hanging out with the biggest rock bands in the world!
First she explains the term, dispels some notorious connotations and talks about
the difference between a "groupie" and a "fan. She takes the audience on a wild ride through growing up in the 60's, hanging out on the Sunset Strip at age 16, and how she got involved with some of the greatest rock acts in history!
From getting the "groupie bug" by seeing Elvis on TV to trying to meet the Beatles, she finally got her break meeting Captain Beefheart and Frank Zappa. From there she goes into hanging out with Jim Morrison, dating Jimmy Page, and appearing in Jimi Hendrix' first two music videos. She also goes on to explain the "love ins" of the 60's, to B.D.'s confusion!
Her bestselling first book "I'm With The Band: Confessions of a Groupie" was followed by a series of nonfiction page-turners, including "Take Another Little Piece of My Heart: A Groupie Grows Up", "Let’s Spend the Night Together: Backstage Secrets of Rock Muses and Supergroupies", and "Let It Bleed: How to Write a Rockin’ Memoir."
Today, PAMELA DES BARRES is respected as an author, journalist, creative writing instructor, podcaster, and rock historian, and is perhaps the most famous standard-bearer of a term she wears proudly: **Groupie**.
