    Very interesting and informative. One thing I would like to mention is that Aloe Macroclada is Aloe Vera in India and it is grown in our backyard. Most of the homes in India have this plant. It may be a different breed but nevertheless it’s the same.

    One one thing he didn't mention is cancer stem cells have been fairly recently discovered in is a cause of recurring cancer. My husband had multiple myeloma which was a cancer of his bone marrow and he had to have a stem cell transplant. So I would be interested to hear if these supplements would increase cancer stem cells or not

    Fascinating interview! Sort of off topic from affects on bones, but I would love to know if the guest's company has done any research on the use of stem cells for vision loss, specifically macular degeneration. I didn’t find anything specific on his website. Thank you!

    The Stemregen products are very expensive. I think there are other ways to produce stem cells in our bodies such as intermittent fasting?

    What about the toxicity of the Klamath Lake blue green algae? That goes back for many years resulting in people becoming quite sick.

    • @ScottOhlgren
      @ScottOhlgren 4 месяца назад +1

      It's a common concern. Fortunately, there have never been any cases (since 1989) of people getting sick who have used the encapsulated, powder, or fresh frozen versions of Klamath Lake AFA. This is because each harvest batch has to be thoroughly tested in accordance with both state and federal agencies. The confusion is that Klamath Lake, like most bodies of water, does provide a growing medium for multiple other species of non-food algae, including
      - Microcystis (a form of blue-green algae, aka cyanobacteria) that produces microcystin a neurotoxin
      - Gloeotrichia (not toxic to humans, just a nuisance)
      - Anabaena which can also product microcystin
      But like many other types of farmers (peanuts, dairy farms, etc), harvesters of AFA (there are currently 3 of them) know when to harvest, and where to harvest on the lake so that what they're bringing up is 100% AFA. Each batch has to be 3rd party tested to agency specs so that what ends up is pure AFA.
