Great video Windy! I miss my control line stunt days for sure. You have no idea how you inspired me in my modeling career. 🙂
HOPE ALL IS WELL WITH YOU,I do miss everyone from modeling,it was a majic time for us all.
DAVE IS AN AMAZING CRAFTSMAN FOR SURE.
I remember seeing a video of Dave water jetting a cardinal wing mold being cut from a solid piece of aluminium. Amazing stuff
NOBODY CAN PREDICT THE FUTURE,even the world famous ELMUNDRO.
Nice work showing the engineering/craftsmanship of airplane modeling. Has anyone ever built a BUSH PLANE? Enjoyed the video Windy and RIDE SAFE OUT THERE!
THEY HAVE MODELED EVERYTHING,I BELIEVE EVEN GEORGE ALDRICH HAD AN AGCAT.
Hey Windy keep these coming. What year did you and Dave start the composite planes?
Is Dave still flying?
I FORWARDED TO DAVE FOR HIS ANSWER.
Thanks Windy! What a video that brings back some great memories! The development of all of these things was a TEAM effort….. it wasn’t just me, or Windy…. I think the very first composite wing was built in 2000 - 2001 with honeycomb and weighed about the same as a ford bronco! We gave it to Woody. Around that time I designed and built the aluminum tooling for what would become the carnivore. I built a wing mold, fuse mold, stab, elevator, rudder, and flap mold. We also built tooling for all carbon motor mounts that fit the Carnivore fuse. It was truly a labor of love and is probably the most expensive plane built to that point in time!
After Woody passed, I had little to no interest in continuing to fly as it was something we shared together. By then I was busy building my business and always had something better to do with what little spare time I had. So many of my friends have asked me to come back and fly again, and who knows…. Maybe someday.
