M.V Matthew - On the move again

Seized Drug smuggling vessel Matthew is on the move again , this time from Passage back to Marino Point . At 15,000 euro per move and with mounting mooring fees , at this rate , the sale of the vessel by the state will hardly cover the costs of keeping it

The longer they wait io sell her the less she is worth, I doubt the crew if an are left aboard her are doing routine maintenance. A ship deteriotes faster than an abondended home.

The ship does not belong to the State at this stage. As far as I know, no company has come forward to admit ownership. There will be a long legal battle ahead. The crew have been repatriated (except for a few in prison awaiting trial) There is an agency crew aboard at the moment( not sure how many), probably just enough for her fairly regular "voyages" to Passage and Ringaskiddy.
