The escape hatch looks about as armored as a ford focus, note to attackers- get the high ground.
definitely, but i think thats cause itd be too heavy to use
Like Obi-Wan?
🤣🤦🏽
They could've engineered a better solution at this price point, hydraulic hinges come to mind.
HAHAHAHAHAHA
I loved how the ultra secure deadbolt had lose screws that half fell out just by activating the lock.

The comment that I was looking for. I’m not sure if I can trust my life with this ‘armoured’ SUV.
And even the switch to activate it looked like it wasn't secured in properly!!!

@@gafakyusef6201 I guess it’s called a deadbolt for a reason. You’d be dead if you trust that bolt.
Giving this vehicle 6/10 for quality and 7/10 for practicality was incredibly generous
I suspect u dont love this car
@@Rami7605 whats there to like about the car?
So it's armoured and safe still complaining it feels cheap that's doug for you I mean your not going to care how it feels inside like a peice of plastic and screen in one place if your needing this protection from something even if you do spend that much your buying the protection
Right? You'd have to own an oil company to keep this thing on the road. 10 mpg is a distant dream before they add all the weight.
It's not a Lincoln Navigator, it's a security vehicle.
I had this wagon from 2015 to 2020. Everything works perfect during my ownership and it never lets me down. It runs and drives pretty smooth and the build quality is amazing. I ended up trade it in for a KURUMA because a lot people try to shoot me through the window and grand theft auto V won’t do anything about it, so does my Xbox.

@@ProjektleiterBroteundBroetchen Oh they sure had.

Isnt the Insurgent more lika a Terradyne Gurkha?
There's no way this can be taken seriously. The 007 switches look like they're from AutoZone and something I would've wanted when I was 12.

this car has incredibly secure door locks with incredibly loose screws...
They were popping out when the lock activated! Maybe that is also how the nails are deployed.... lmao

If you look at the jamb, you can clearly tell the door was shut with the bolt out. Messed it all up.
Just use wood screws that how my house locks are fastened.

Doug deserves an Oscar nomination for doing this entire review with a straight face as though an F350 with the worlds worst fit and finish its actually worth the same as a G63 Brabus...
He was laughing half the time
5:10 his hand gun literally 🤣🤣 made me spit out my food. Close enough Doug
Deadbolts for the doors but a skimpy latch for the escape hatch.
If your attackers are already on top of your armored vehicle your security has already failed and you're most likely fucked. I hope u have some ARs inside and some hearing protection for if they get in
If it encounters any soft ground, and this thing is screwed.
And the deadbolt screws are coming loose!
@@miken.1717 never heard of high ground attacks? It's kind of normal. This car is a pile of junk. Dead bolts on the doors, screwed in with probably m4 Philips screws. I bet you that the OEM door latch is stronger. No armour lip inside around door gaps. Bullets will get inside easily. No armour around the engine. Easy to stop this expensive crap. Those windows have no armour lip inside. AliExpress mirror, light bars and switches. IR camera so high and behind the light bar, so it won't see the road ahead. So on so on. This is simply a joke
@@nelsonmarques1334 you should have started with, “most business is done to china”
For $300k the build quality is shocking, doesn't even have assisted doors. Genuine manufacturer security divisions put this thing to shame.
They used a mid-low tier aftermarket head unit too.
the switches arent even straight up and down , theyre all angled and not level
If you want proper security, call based Kyle.
Love the screw falling out when doug was demonstrating the dead bolts.. lol this thing looks like an 18 year old modified it
It is marketed for China though, so the build quality is actually very good for that market lol.
Love how he makes point about contrast of cheap Ford stuff and "really nice" USSV stuff, while actual quality of this USSV stuff looks so incredibly shitty.
Did anyone notice the latch on the escape hatch? Looks like a prybar could easily defeat it.
Looks like you're safe until somebody jumps on top of it.
Also how the toggle switches are canted and moved when he activated the dead bolt switch.
the whole time I was just thinking , it's going to leak when it's raining by how rough the seal work looks like around it
It is like how the weakest part of tanks are their tops
love how the deadbolt locks aren't even fully screwed in @ 6:25
This vehicle is the epitome of "security theatre". The fact that the engine bay and front windshield are unarmoured says it all.
Yeah. Seen an armored suburban, that had real armor on the engine compartment
@Urethron
*Rhino GX official SUV of the TSA (who also are security theater)*
Exactly this. This is a total gimmick "theatre" peice and the lack of quality is very apparent all over this video. Not to mention any individual who really needs the protection would never ride around in something this gaudy. The suburban that premier body armor built, the one demo ranch destroyed is an example of the real deal.
The engine itself will stop bullets. Though it could damage the engine, yes.
But the windshield could be a safety thing. Not sure.
But still, the point of this vehicle is to protect the occupants, not the driver per se. If you're driving one of these, you're almost certainly expected to stop bullets with yourself to protect whoever you're driving around.
I wouldn't call it security theater, I'd call it "not a bearcat" where it's job is to protect everyone.
Also, did anyone see a fire extinguisher or first aid kit anywhere. I'm pretty sure these would be standard equipment.
Every time Doug says “while you’re being chauffeured around,” I kept wanting him to say “while you’re being shot at.”
I'm glad they managed to cram Flash Player in to the spec as well, ready for anything.
Doug's channel has evolved so much, I assume that in a couple of months, he will review a submarine, and then probably a NASA Rocket.
Imagine Doug reviewing a space-craft, will it get a 10\10 for coolness? probably not.
Remember back when he was reviewing houses on his 2nd channel?

13:30 aww Dougs so innocent, he thinks the radar detector is for the speed cameras haha.
There are a lot of armored vehicles out there, but not many with Flash Player built into the rear view mirror
Nothing says "secure" like Flash player in 2021...
China loves flash
Yea that's definitely an Alibaba bulk-buy Android retrofit mirror. Probably cost them about $32.99 per unit and will probably break after 6 months
The problem with an armored car that looks like this… if you’re actually someone who needs an armored vehicle, this stands out so much it’s obvious a VIP or whatever is in it. It’s awesome looking for sure but anyone who wants to lay low but be protected buy normal looking armored cars. This would really only be useful in war zones or amongst a support convoy. Keeping a low profile is usually the best way to avoid attacks without a full on convoy
Well do keep in mind considering who this car is marketed too that's not going to be the only car that's there and packing iron.
Will it help by spraypaint this suv to be a low profile car lolz
Just what I was thinking. Kind of tacky also. Should have just armored a Super Duty
It’s why BMW made undetectable armored versions of their 7 and 5 series cars for years.
I don't think they were worried about discreteness when they enabled your armored guards to hang off the outside with their guns while its moving....
6:31 The deadbolt actuator mount screw is literally cross threaded and about to fall out lol. This thing is hilarious
Literally was looking for this comment!
Omg, the shop around the corner from me has one of these on display all the time. I thought this was just a tasteless mod kit for an f250. I Had no idea this thing was not entirely for show.
The build quality looks amazing, doesn’t it?! Looks like an eBay special on the inside!

@@mcmobius1 American manufacturing quality. That's why only Americans buy American cars (Wel, except for the Chinese, apparently 🙄)
you mean kvuality...
That rear mirror is a weird choice. for a 300,000 dollar car, they could have just put in a 5 dollar camera and give you perfect view of what's happening behind you. Hell, put in a 500 dollar camera and have the option of it being infrared and see in the dark if someone is following you with the lights off.
You could even install it on the inside of the rear window for security/safety
They challenged themselves not to spend more than $50 on any of the interior features.
Judging by the interior, that kind of job is way beyond their skill level
Man....i love it !! - finally i can get back home after 2am here in Rio / Brazil if i had one .
As far as I knew, that's exactly how a dually tire and wheel work, front is reverse mount of the rear 🤷🏿♂️🤷🏿♂️
The quality of this truck makes it look like a school project ;D
I love how they left a huge bank of blank switches on the climate control and put touch screen switches for the lights in the infotainment, and then left a crappy HUD in the dash and an impractical touchscreen in the useless rear view mirror. Talk about no attention to detail.
The switches isnt even straight mounted at the dash
Its junk:)
Exactly my thoughts - also on a vehicle like this you prob want more AWD control (AWD, FWD, RWD, difflock etc)
The loose screw on the door bolt is not very confidence inspiring
I'm surprised the engine bay isn't armored. I mean this things whole schtick is ''safety and security'' yet the engine bay goes unarmored. A couple of high velocity rounds through that engine block and/or radiator would permanently disable this truck and leave its occupants stranded until help could arrive IF there was any help coming. I don't know, this seems more like a gimmick for celebrities who want to play military to own.
Well, it IS Orange County, and there ARE Hollywood conservatives out there who might like this thing.
It's not really for safety and security. It's for showing off.
This things while shtick is how to get idiots to over pay for shit.
If it was armored, the front-end wouldn't crumple in the case of a forward collision. So ironically, not armoring it is also a safety measure
It's for the cartels. The language is set to Spanish
Doug your the man!! Leave it to Doug to point out the cheap stuff.
I love how the doors are so heavily armoured Doug almost can't close them, but he easily opens the roof hatch with one hand. You want to ambush this vehicle? Throw a hand grenade on the roof.
This thing is a quality control and showcase embarrassment.
Loose screws, cheap switches, non bulletproof windshield... If I was the CEO I'd be ashamed of showing this thing. I wonder how many potential clients were turned away because of this.
That rearview mirror looks like it's running some fork of Android Gingerbread. WTF. And that top hatch? It's seriously being held on by a tiny swivel. Also, why the hell would you use those gun ports when you're getting all the volume of the exploding rounds? And you can't aim? And then...
You don't really need a switch to release nails. I'm pretty sure enough screws will be falling out of this thing already to have the same effect.
@@NickRaven A lot of armored cars have those gunports. They might come in handy when being attacked from the side of the road. Anyways, the Quality doesnt look good at all for a 300.000$ vehicle....
The CEO should also be ashamed for selling these to the CCP. I wonder if the CCP is using these vehicles to patrol their "labor camps?"
Of the windshield is not bulletproof, than it is crap, I agree.

The "CB radio"
The microphone you held up was definitely not from a CB band radio. The front of the radio did not appear to be CB either. That is probably a radio that operates on a private frequency you can license....please make a note of this please.
At 13:37
That may be the radar detector for certain types of radar guided anti armor missiles....
Doug's floating head on top of the hood of this thing is hilarious.
I feel like when they were designing this they didnt realize how much it was gonna cost to produce these, so half way thru they just started cutting corners, the cheap quality of the interior, the door locks, no armor on the windshield, no armor for the engine bay, and kept the engine completely stock
It would appear you're correct that the windshield looks completely unarmored, I doubt they've bothered to blast proof the cabin floor either HOWEVER it is actually very common for up armored vehicles to not have armoring on the hoods. If you pay premium premium prices for your tank on wheels you *can* get very basic ballistic protection (small arms protection coating) but as far as actual armor typically you'll only get the cabin because of the sheer weight of armoring an entire civilian vehicle. Very few if any civilian vehicles front axles could handle all the additional weight required to carry one continuous sheet of AR500 1/2in steel.
Don't get me wrong it is probably (my only experience with up armored vehicles are all military) entirely possible to get an armored hood but in my experience only the cabin of vehicles has crazy levels of protection.
Except maybe the presidents car "the beast", that thing is an actual tank. It literally has 8 inch thick armor all around with 5 inch thick windows... just DUMMY THICC
@@TheJacyn313 i didnt know that but from what you explained it does make since, you would think that they would upgrade everything though for the amount of money youre spending but it probably would make the price go up exponentially

Not only that, but the other thing I've noticed from Doug's videos over the years is that every God damn car that he has reviewed that's also being sold at the time has dirty interior! Like some supercars from dealers have dirty interiors. Is that like a normal thing in the US? I'm realy confused.
I saw one of these casually parked on the side of the road in NYC today. It's a beast.
I just want to point out that the "gun port" can also be used for a bow and arrow. You missed this vital detail, Doug.

If I'm dumping $300K on this, the nail deployment switch had damn well better not be crooked.
Those 'heavy' doors had a lot of vibration when Doug was closing them.
The deadbolt on the door appears to not be completely fastened.

Quality looks kinda low...
I mean it is used, but quality does seem poor.
lol, it gets even worse when you consider the weight. Its based on an F450 dually platform, which weights in at around 7000 to 8000 pounds on its own. that means they added a body, windows, and this has almost no armor plating at all in the doors, because it would be well over 10000 pounds. not only is this a "for show" rig, but I would not even trust those windows with the massive gap around them inside for a bullet to penetrate thru.
The roof liner, interior panel gaps and that huge hatch doesn’t exude confidence that this car will protect its owner.
My thoughts exactly. The fit and finish is atrocious.
Yeah, for $300K +, the quality kinda sucks

Funny you're calling the USSV stuff "nice luxury". Everything looks cheaply tacked on. The nail and smoke switch covers are all crooked. Other switches and things look like it was just glued to the base Ford truck. The armored aspect of this is obviously the only thing making it $300k.

You saw that too, eh? lol
According to the USSV website the GX does not come armored. It's an option carried out by a third-party outfitter. I assume this one is either not armored at all or only mildly armored. The stock one looks exactly the same, they use "cold rolled steel body panels"
@@yungboicontigo9278 yup I mistyped GC but meant GX. USSV states on their site they do not do armoring and their vehicles do not come armored. It's an option carried out by a third party outfitter.

What a POS. Unarmored escape hatch, unusable hand/footholds on the doors, unarmored hood, security door bolts that are falling out, gaps in the armor around the door glass, useless gadgets, abysmal fit & finish. I'm willing to bet the floor has absolutely zero protection as well. The reversible wheels are a neat touch I guess.
No one is gonna buy this thing that actually needs this level of security. You can get similar security from an X5 armored or an S-class Guard, if not higher. This thing is nothing more than a novelty for people more concerned about their image than security. This car makes you more of a threat, as well. People notice a massive MRAP driving anywhere. Considerably less so an X5 or an S-class.
Don't forget about the stock windshield too LOL
@@mattw4211 yup. Saw that as well during the Doug Score. lol
Imagine the thrust loading on those rear wheel bearings.
The reversible wheels isn't something neat at all, pretty much every dually trucks comes with reversible wheels. The only difference here is that they removed the inside wheels and used bigger ones instead. Doug is a little clueless on that part.
I would eliminate 3rd row and a small fridge on one side and then the rest for luggage cause a road trip is prolly the best way of getting the most out of this vehicle the open highway
Action Doug FTW!!!
6:34 The top screw on the deadbolt lock is already falling out or wasn’t tightened correctly. Quality engineering that rivals Tesla’s fit and finish. lol
At least Tesla performs better I guess 😂
Good point. I didn't notice that.
exactly what i was thinking. and they want 300k lmao
I noticed this as well. Looks like there are a few switches and add-ons that look like they were installed by a teenager modifying his Altima.
Ha! I noticed the switch for that lock looked loose as heck too.
Yeah, looking at this it feels like a prototype and not a finished product. I didn't notice it at first but look at around 6:10 when Doug is demonstrating the extra security lock. The first thing that stood out to me was when he went to flick the switch to lock the dead bolt the housing moved. Not something I would expect to happen in a finished product and it makes you wonder if the switch panel might come loose after driving it a while.
The other thing I noticed was that the screws holding the deadbolt in place were lose. I don't know if that's because the installation job was poorly done, or if the screws just worked loose after some time driving/demonstrating the vehicle. Either way it doesn't make me feel like this vehicle would be very durable.
that and the cb radio thats just tossed on the floor, with no mic leash or anything
Also who uses a CB radio for security?
the escape hatch looks very secure with that small hench!!!
Can't help thinking a molotov on the roof would defeat the whole security of it.
The strangest part to me is that someone actually thought that this was such a good idea that invested his money to finance it
I mean, It does sell tho
It is there are many type of armored SUV like this in service the Lenco Bearcat for example.
@@emberfist8347the bearcat is not as poorly built and thought out though
only 6 minutes in and:
- paint is chipped on the grab handle
- aux buttons (left of the steering wheel) poorly installed (crooked and wobbly)
- deadbolt screw is ... well unscrewed
- deadbolt itself not looking that secure
So far does not inspire too much confidence, or worthiness of the asking price.
It is built for special agencies or someone, who really needs protection, like swat team or something like that. It is not for driving daily on the road, so there's basically no point in discussing how much it is worth and what it lacks. If you think it is slow, you just don't need this, and who actually needs, they don't think about speed, they need protection and capability.

@@artanglin2763 but the OP mentioned nothing of what you mention, and instead points to basic glaring poor build quality and a lack of quality control, which would be a concern for anyone who would actually need a vehicle like this, or even someone just getting one to show off, as faux carbon fiber peeling off grad handles, misaligned switched, loose screws, etc…, aren’t exactly things anyone wants to see on a $300k vehicle!
Sadly, I don’t think that is chipped paint on the grab handle, instead it looks like it’s a torn faux carbon fiber sticker on the handle.
I think if I spent 300k I’d like the stitching on the ceiling to not be mediocre, or the cb just tossed in the floor, or the deadbolt locks to not look so flimsy, or straight placed switches on the dash, or a logo that actually fits the steering wheel logo correctly 😂
Yes. The attention to many details wasn't happening for this vehicle.
They couldn't even bother to do R&D into the airbag covers so they left the cheap plastic ones from the factory on it
Looking at the USSV Rhino XT; it seems they grabbed the rights to the Hummer HX concept. The head/tail light placements are nearly identical. The fender design is the same, grille size, indicator lights, gas cover, door handles and hinges. The door shape. The only key difference I can see is that the removable hard top on the back where they continued the level roof a little while longer and added a more aggressively angled rear window. Other than that, they added a brake light that comes from behind the spare tire. I really wanted the HX to become a reality. Now it seems like my dreams have come true! Time to start earning!
Cool, i am waiting for the Elephant LX.
The escape hatch doesn’t look so bulletproof.
if it were armored it would be too heavy to lift and during an emergency situation, that could be fatal. Plus where its positioned, it doesn't necessarily need to be armored.
If you think about it....
1) The car is slow, so if it were to take off from a standstill, you still have a few seconds to run to it and grab onto that exterior handle.
2) It never ever really gets all that fast, and so I assume climbing on top wouldn't be all too difficult.
3) Knowing Edwin Sarkissian's channel, I know that there are some handguns that can penetrate even metal plates, and so in conclusion...
You're right, this element doesn't really fit the Bulletproof theme this tank has got going.
@@coolmendotdot2 good luck trying to get on top of it. Regardless, they didnt armor it so who's right here? Im sure these engineers have thought of these things. The switches are crooked and there's a screw loose on the deadbolt. This isn't meant to be secure, it's meant to make you feel secure.
The wheel thing is normal for dually pick ups. They have 6 of the same tires on 6 of the same wheels. You just flip ‘em around. That’s why dually front wheels are always so convex

the dead bolt on my house door looks way stronger than that little pin lock lol
LMAO the opening shot with just his head peaking out from the top of the hood, ha!

“It’s got a built in CB radio”
Zooms in on CB radio laying on the floor randomly with wires everywhere and no mounts for the hand sets.
Yeah, that’s real clean for $300,000.
I don’t think it’s a CB radio. The unit is some type of digital Motorola and the curly Q antenna on the roof is too short for CB. A real security detail would want something encrypted too, so not every trucker on the highway can listen. I wonder if it was added by the previous owner and not from the factory since it really is thrown in there.
@@neddannenberg100 Its a Motorola XTS mobile Transceiver with 256bit AES encryption and is P25 capable. Standard law enforcement radio gear. Its actually pretty dated for 2021 and really dates this vehicle, its at least 10 years old.
"No other brand has a badge like it". Yeah. That's what logos are for.
Apart from Ferrari and Lamborghini
@@jonathanstamp what you talking about ?
@@chadkennedy8675 he means that Ferrari, Lamborghini and for that matter USSV all have an animal standing on its rear feet as a logo.
@@herbie53opf lamborghini's logo is a bull standing in a charging motion. At what time have you seen a bull stand up on its hind legs like a horse?
Security hanging on for dear life 🤣
9:32 wow it has flash lights integrated right in the rear view mirror 😱
This thing looks extremely cobbled together, solid quality for 300 grand
For $300,000 you’d think they could align the nail deployment switch so it wasn’t at a crooked angle…
@@gnarfle Hahaha i noticed that
Maybe it's just been used a lot
@@trey1531 maybe you don't recognise quality
I had a MkII Mondeo TD that also had the smoke screen feature. Very useful when someone is tailgating you

This reminds me of that futuristic suv.. from Tango & Cash.

Doing the lords work
I love how Doug is fully in a bliss and joyful mode while he reviews a mob car.
I think you meant "dictators, authoritarian presidents and corrupt politicians"? ;)
@@riddlerandsa8161 He doesn't need to, as The Mob _Rules_ already ruclips.net/video/mlZj4gMxF7A/видео.html (hilariously it's uploaded by RHINO(Entertainment)). It's a nice song btw.
Or the large panel on roof which can be used to murder everyone inside
Hey Doug, great channel - can you test the Ineos Grenadier, which is a new 4x4 based on the old Defender chassis - but with modern tech 😉
Like how the deadbolt screw was falling out.
Me: What does the ‘US’ stand for in ‘USSV’?
Doug: It stands for ‘U.S.’
Me: Understandable, have a nice day
Alright then, keep your secrets!
Joke's on you, I thought this was a Russian SUV whose name purposefully resembled the USSR
Well, the "US" does really stand for United States; in fact, USSV really stands for "United States Special Vehicles". So, yeah, what else could you expect, CJ Official? :-P

It would've been more fun had he popped out and started imitating firing a machine gun around.
In the 80s, we called that the sunroof. 5:35.
im exhausted just watching this guy lol
It looks like my 5 year old put together the nails switch, all excited about it, forgot to drill the holes correctly so that the switch is level and aligned with the other two.

Funny that people seem to believe gas is going to be plentiful in the event of a global apocalypse. Also, paint is already coming off the grab handle. Looks like "amazing" workmanship for 300k lol

that's the thing: in the event of a global apocalypse you are FAR better off with an used 50$ bicycle. Runs on muscle-power, gets you everywhere due the small profile and you can carry it anywhere you want. It's also good enough to outrun zombies.
