Great video! Your realization at the end (brake fault) was my exact problem! It turns out mine was a missing screw at the handle causing the handle to slightly pop out of alignment. I popped a screw back in and boom - it works. Literally a 2 second fix that didn't require any disassembly - thank you for putting this video together!
Great video man! I’ve been having problems with my 24 V razor quad for a while now I replaced the throttle didn’t work replace the controller didn’t work now that I found a video I tested it and it looks like my brand new throttle is bad I’m only getting .6 and then .8 at full throttle
THANK YOU SIR!!! I replaced Batteries and the Controller with no result. That powered cable to the right front brake lever was the problem. Obviously the wired cable stops the front wheel. The function of the wire from the controller is to cut the throttle when stopping? A similar connection is on the left brake lever controlling the rear brake and should cut the throttle when braking. Anyway, you made my grandkids day as well as mine!
Ha, ha! I'm only 1 minute into this video and I'm loving it! Great video. Thanks for sharing. I wish mine was a bad brake safety switch, but I think mine is a controller. But thanks for sharing! This was a great instructional video!
My son’s 350 brake switch will catch sometimes. When he pulls the brake, it takes some fiddling with the brake handle to get the bike to take back off. I’ve considered disconnecting the brake switch
I appreciate the information, I just bought a mx500 frame with motor & throttle attached with nothing else I ordered parts and I will be using this video again when parts arrive to troubleshoot. Hopefully the thing starts right up but I highly doubt it. Thanks!
I’d also like to add to this. I also had a click and after replacing nearly every part including batteries I found that it’s the on/off switch. My low button kept lighting up and then I would jiggle the cables to the switch and it went green and would run the motor So just an fyi….
Omg..my buddy "tested" everything but then decided it was the motor..I bought and installed it..I still get nothing..mind you I picked up this razor electric mini chopper from an eviction dump..I had to buy a charger for it..now I have power..switch lights up..but you say I need like 40ish volts..I think I only had 24 on the reading..the light comes on for the throttle but i don't even get a click..
I’ve replaced the batteries, the charger, and the controller, but keeps blowing the upper fuse after 5 seconds of riding? Any ideas? Throttle? All wires appear to be in tact? Thanks
If it is a 36V razor (3 batteries), it must have at least 36 volts, but even that is really too low. It should be closer to 40. If it doesn't, then you can test each battery. Each should have about 13V once fully charged. This would be step #1, and then go from there.
Shit now I know thanks my son dropped the bike and the brake handle got filled with sand there is a little blue button in there that gets pressed and stops throttle from working I just blew out the sand now it’s working
@@AG-yz1hs Do you need to have any connectors on the wire or literally just get some 14g wire and connect to each end of the connectors? I've tried to find videos on making a 'jumper', but hitting dead ends.
the brake safety switch was working perfectly and any mechanic that is worth taking advice from would have checked and advised others to check such controls first, in the case of a brake safety switch, they stop the motor and that stops the rider from being rammed forwards, or damage caused because chains and wheels are not still being driven when crashed still, so need to be checked first and easily to check by pulling the lever and a meter with a buzzer to see if it opens and closes , a professional would have put their hands up and said I forgot to check it and shown how to, a DIY person who doesn't no what they are doing makes excuses and makes it worse by trying to blame a part doing what it should, DONT GIVE UP YOUR DAY JOB LOL
Brand new, not working, only the clicking noise. batts are ok, fuses are ok, charger are ok, throttle are ok, motor is ok. I change the controller, same issue! the switches from the break are OK

@@justinstorm8482 It wasn't me - its the video.! great job getting this troubleshooting video up!
Same issue here with a 500. Unplugged that brake connector and Viola it worked. Used every step along the way in your video. Thx for posting

Disconnected the front brake switch like you showed in the video and that did the trick thx man awesome vid keep it going.
That seems to be a real weak point on these bikes.
Did the same and it also worked, what does this front break switch do
@@Element21VA stop throttle when stopping
Thank you I replaced everything on my mx500 and didn't think of this even the brakes are new

left mine in the rain, did the same thing. Dried them in the sun for two days and worked. Whew!
These things are tough!

Good luck with it!!
How did you fix it? I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM but the cables look good
Nice info working in my also ,Mx 650
Can you explain how to test the motor with the alligator clips?
+ 1. Great video, helped me learn and solve the problem with the kid dirt bike
Any recommendations for batteries off of Amazon?
Thanks mate was in the same boat 😁
my throttle only works when it is plugged into the charger? Any suggestions?
Thank you so much, we were having the same problem as you

trouble 🔫 ing!!! How long do I have with a new one before the batteries go old. Like a few months!!??
My front wheel rubs on the brake any idea how to fix?? ive tried to adjust the brake and take out the washers on the axle but no avail.
Same problem thanks

Let me know what it is I had the same issue every part has been replaced with the exception of the batteries
Daaamn good stuff i had already had the throttle of ready to replace and it was the stupid brake cabke from when she fell.haha
Ok it charged it up a little more and now I'm getting the click in the throttle

I put new batteries in my razor n it don't work still I don't hear a click r nothing
Check for voltage after the on off switch
I have the same issue! this is crazy!
What do you think the problem with my bike is if my bike won’t even turn on
Could be the switch. Check voltage before and after switch with it turned on.
@@TheSwampStalker I figured it out it was a blown fuse
How do you know if it's a blown fuse ? Where do I look for that?

Hi I’m confused on how I’m supposed to jump the cable from the battery to the motor ?
just get two cables and connect the battery to the motor... the motor will spindle...
