If getting hired depends on whether or not a woman falls to her knees and opens her mouth when her potential employer opens his robe then certainly a despicable and illegal act has occurred. To characterize such behavior as "men misbehaving" does a grave disservice to the brave women who have come forward at risk of destroying their careers by many labeled "difficult" by men in power. fredrika27 I understand what you’re saying, but maybe Angie is at an age now where she just wants to live out her days in peace and quiet and not to become embroiled in any modern controversy. After all, whatever may have happened (or not happened) to her personally would have been more than half a century ago, and she may feel that ‘what’s done is done’, that nothing can change it now and so there’s no point in going over ancient history. As an older woman myself, I understand that attitude, though whilst never having been even an aspiring famous actress but just an ordinary ‘mere mortal’ I obviously never had any of those particular ‘casting couch’ experiences. But still, I’m sure many of us now in our 70s and 80s have had embarrassing, or possibly even mortifying, moments in our lives that we would rather forget, and certainly not wish to rehash on the public stage. Angie seems to be a very private lady, and I feel she should be afforded the right to live out her life in quiet and peaceful dignity.
Angie comes from a generation before social media and smart phones; where people were interesting, engaging, and charismatic, and had captivating lives and fascinating stories. I guess we'll never quite see her type ever again. She looks great for her age, and I'm so glad she hasn't been pulled, plumped and paralyzed by plastic surgery and Botox!
Most women did not live the fascinating lives that film stars like Ms Dickensen did. They were either homemakers who rarely had anyone other than the kids to talk to or, if single, working at low-paying pink ghetto jobs or cleaning houses if poor and uneducated. The good paying jobs were "only men need apply" which is why even brilliant women who managed to get into law school and graduated at the top of their class could only find jobs as legal secretaries. The "open robe" comment is a reference to Harvey Weinstein who is in prison because both the men and women on the jury (who "weren't there" either ) put him there. I don't fault Ms Dickensen for her "an open robe isn't rape" comment even though it disparages the brave actresses who came forward about Harvey W at the risk of being labeled "difficult" which is poison in the film industry, I fault the interviewer who either didn't ask follow-up questions or the editor who edited them out if they were asked

Yes I notice she was very interesting in het expressing what she believes and not what is popular to believe and makes us think little more what is truly going on with some but not with everyone
No one claimed an open robe is rape. And that's not what the Me Too movement is about. It's about powerful people using their power over a person's career opportunities to get their own sexual needs met--and often also using intimidation tactics to keep their victims from reporting their abuse. And yes, it's been going on for forever, but that doesn't make it okay.
@@MicheleEngel - she doesn't understand what it is about. Thanks for your comment. I was wondering if anyone was comment about her opinion on the me too movement.
Angie was everything. Such an icon in every possible level. She was an inspiration. An aspiration. Once, in Palm Beach while working, someone said Angie Dickinson was in the store, but had walked out onto Worth Ave. I dropped everything and ran to track her down. Once I spotted her and found the courage to speak, she was so delighted that someone recognized her. I immediately gushed in disbelief. I said but you are such a legend and I risked being fired to see you in person. She reached out and with a tear in her eye said I made her day. It was the greatest event I can remember. I recall it often. What a mesmerizing personality and lady. Full on lady, dame, broad. Angie is everything.
This interview, was WELL DONE! Angie, is one of my favorite actresses! I totally agree with her; that the "Me Too Movement" is getting out of hand! What a classy lady! 👍🏆👍
I just rewatched this interview after having viewed it in 2020. I have a lot of respect for Angie Dickinson, and I love some of her responses to Mo Rocca's questions. She is a treasure and Mo's rapport with her was evident.
Yep, she proved with that statement that she wasn't just another Hollyweird shill, but can think for herself. She observed that the MeToo movement did/does more harm than good for the world just like most initiatives sponsored by the mainstream media and Hollywood elites. Incidentally Rose McGowan who founded the movement to her credit also disowned it when she saw it being corrupted and weaponized. I bet Angie doesn't realize it or maybe she does by her statement when working with John Wayne that she shared more in common with his politics than she did with her parents. I bet she was the best mother her daughter Nikki could've had for her condition, but too bad it ended sadly.
I really like her but truly disagree with her about the me too movement. Millions of women are abused and raped, and what women wear, say a mini skirt, is often used by men (and some women) to justify this cruel and debasing act. It is about power and thank God and country and the men and women who fight against the debasement of women in jobs and at home. Look at what is happening in Afghanistan, where women are bereft of education and have to hide all of their bodies and faces because men cannot control themselves so blame women. Thank God we are better than that, but have a long way to go.
I believe that she has had one of the most thrilling lives out of many people in Hollywood. She knew everybody and was in everything. She still looks great as well!
Joy Harrison yes , Burt would have nothing to do with Nikki and once she was born didn’t have much to do with Angie either . Burt writes love songs but in reality doesn’t understand the reality of love , only the. Dream if it . Angie wentvto wirk on police woman to pay for around the clock care for Nikki . I still remember this exchange on _The Tonight Show_ .
Johnny: Do you dress for men or dress for women?
Angie: I dress for women and I undress for men.
She was always the most pleasant humouous guest on The Tonight Show. I think her and Johnny had a brief thing I saw her signing interviews at a convention in the 90s in LV. She had s huge line, but seemed so involved in talking with her fans.
great!!
JohnnyM Fan: Yes, I read a few times that she and Carson had a fling.
she spoke the truth about the me too movement...it is not being used the right way...nice of her to publicly say so.
@@paulaguenon1660 That's exactly what I was thinking: She doesn't get it.
Michele Engel she gets it. She’s just much tougher than all the “victims” of today. She’d have kicked Harvey in the nuts and kept going.
Angie is everything.
you gave her a LIFELONG MEMORY cheering her up when she needed it. thx for sharing.
betty gordon, iowa fan forever
the ending was marvelous.
She's still beautiful! It comes from within.
shes so cool
Always loved her & my favorite role was Police Woman...This interview made me an even bigger fan. RIP Nikki
This interview, was WELL DONE! Angie, is one of my favorite actresses! I totally agree with her; that the "Me Too Movement" is getting out of hand! What a classy lady! 👍🏆👍
Hello Dear , How are you?
I watched this show every time it came on. I loved Angie Dickinson, she was a true actor at it's best. She was graceful, a lady and a great actor.
She was absolutely stunning when she was in Police Woman.
Even in her 80s she is a stunning woman, Angie brought class to the TV shows.
She was one of my idols! What man wouldn't have been in love with this woman???? She was gorgeous then, and still gorgeous (inside and out).
Hello, How are you?
"Someday I won't have this...but I won't know it;" Fearless, talented super-gal that has no fear of death. She is a treasure and will be 90 this year!
I just rewatched this interview after having viewed it in 2020. I have a lot of respect for Angie Dickinson, and I love some of her responses to Mo Rocca's questions. She is a treasure and Mo's rapport with her was evident.
An absolute class act. Today's actresses could learn a lot from her. But they won't.
Ms. Dickenson is in her late 80’s & still going strong. Bless you Angie!
A true star in every sense of the word!
Back in the days when talent and class was required to become famous.
This is a truly honest woman. Every childhood boy had a crush on this beauty. “Open robe is not a rape!” Speaks volumes from a woman with integrity.
You ain't kiddin'...used to watch Police Woman as a 12 yr old and was beside myself !
@@lindas.martin2806Well said. I don't know why she said "wearing a robe isn't rape.". Who said it was?
@@lindas.martin2806 Absolutely; well put.
She was my first female idol. To see a woman doing a so called man's job was incredible! Thank you, Angie Dickinson!
Hello Dear, How are you?
Thank you for this. Love seeing Angie again!
Brilliant and always well-spoken, always a delight in conversation, and in the media.
I believe that she has had one of the most thrilling lives out of many people in Hollywood. She knew everybody and was in everything. She still looks great as well!
I grew up watching Angie Dickinson. Thanks, for the interview!
Beautiful and inspiring interview. GodBless her.
Hello Dear , How are you?
Time is the great leveler
She played the hand given her with great style and aplomb
“Viva Angie Dickinson”
This was revealing. I didn't know she had a special need daughter who committed suicide. I like her honesty.
She also was the caretaker for one of her sisters who had Alzheimer's Disease. She's had more than her share of heartache.
@@MrVidaeverdade ,and still Standing!
@@MrVidaeverdade She's a strong lady. Some of us do get more than our fair share of heartaches. I can attest to that.
Burt is a child mentally but she dies not disparage him even though she has plenty of reason to
@@lenwelch2195 Quite a number of these musical geniuses don't make good husbands. Christie Brinkley mentioned how she tried everything to make marriage work with Billy Joel but he just wasn't the type that should be married. Many geniuses are eccentric and just don't know how to be loving and communicative in a marriage. They seem cold and more of the loner type.
Great interview. Angie actually became friends with John Wayne and is still friends with his son producer Michael Wayne's family.
She was really great in Police Woman. I enjoyed every movie she was ever in. Her mind is still sharp as a tack.
outstanding interview with angie's being honest, no holds barred, speaking from her heart, etc.
i always admired angie...her beauty, brain, wits, lifelong friendships, nd gorgeous figure etc.
thanks for all the great movies you made with the cream of the crop actors. here's to good health and happiness forever.
betty gordon, iowa senior turning 74 on 3-24,
THIS IS YOUR LIFE surprised angie with a show about her bringing in family/friends, etc.
she surprised them all, SHE WALKED OFF STAGE NOT hearing anything from the guests they brought on. she has a lot of GUTS to have done this.
a 1st for this tv program!! betty gordon, iowa fan
Angie you are still beautiful 🤩
Barbara Van Dyk I so agree!
I know, right? I LOVE that she has not ruined her face like too many actresses do. Angie is still beautiful, and happy.
@@stevevalkos6308 NEVER HEARD ANYTHING BAD ABOUT HER.
Thank you, Angie, for your comments on the "MeToo" movement.
Agree 👍
She made a good point....a lot of these girls had a pretty good idea of what's likely to happen when you meet a guy alone on his turf
Why? Basically she said ; if you can't stand the heat , get out of the kitchen.
She should do a podcast or a Ted Talk. She has so much to offer.
Seriously!
Angie was a true beauty and I love her honesty.
Hello Dear, How are you?
thank you so much for this interview!
I will always remember her sitting on the tonight show couch flirting with johnny carson. It was priceless!
Legend! Classy lady, discreet about her in depth interview. Positive never spoke badly about her relationships, and marriage to Burt; not bitter. Enjoyed her work in Police Woman, I wasn't born when she acted in Rio Bravo, Oceans Eleven. Clearly, she was a great mother, and wife! Amazing woman. Peace, Love, and Blessings Angie.
✌♥️🙏
Rio bravo is my favorite Western. If people haven't seen it put it on your list. All fantastic actor's and you can see they got along. They don't have many actresses like her anymore. Thumbs up for you Angie love you 😘♥️ and best wishes.
I recently bought that movie!! Love it!!
What an awesome interview! She looks fantastic!❤️ Thank you for this.
Hello Dear , How are you?
Real and grounded!!!! I didn’t know they had that in Hollywood! Beautiful lady.
One of the sexiest women ever 🌟❤
Yes Indeed
she's pretty boss
What a beautiful person inside and out, how could you not love her so honest and caring. caring .
Lovely, bright, unique woman, who portrayed her decades; even in front of a daft interviewer, doesn’t lose her elegance, her style ✨✨✨
Hello Dear, How are you?
What a classy lady. People can take some lessons from her, even just from this interview. Glad she did this interview.
Thank you for this video
Beautiful intelligent woman that exudes sexuality. Always has.
One of my all time favorites. Class, Sexiness, intelligence and a wicked sense of humor! Just a true woman's woman and at the same time one of the boys. She looks great.
Love her!! As my dad used to say " now that's a good looking woman"
I'm 53 and was too young to appreciate Police Woman the first time in the 70's. I'm working through the dvds and have to say its one hell of a top quality cop program. She's all woman and one of Gods gift to men ! (respectfully) 🙂
At the age of 21 and right out of the Marine Corps I met this beautiful woman while working at Warner Brothers in Burbank, CA. I was a runner on the lot and told to take something over to Stage 12… Open the door a bump into Ms Dickinson “boing” instant love… Unfortunately, it was one sided 😔 Turned out what I ran over was for her, so I had to talk to her… What a beautiful lady and I mean lady who wasn’t full of herself…. Thank you Ms Dickinson and thanks for calling me a looker…. 😏
I love this woman. Grew up with her films and tv shows and I’m so so happy I have an autographed photo.
Not particularly her looks, it’s her ways that make her sexy. She has a certain charm. ❤️
The whole package - a rarity.
Well she ain't exactly chopped liver.
Speaking as a man, the looks go a long way as well. I had no idea when I watched Police Woman in junior high and though she was hot that she was actually in her mid 40s!
Hello , How are you?
My Dad had the biggest crush on her as I'm sure most men did. I would love to read her book someday! She knew everybody!
This is two years old, love Ms. Dickinson. She was a trailblazer and a beauty!
"Someday I won't have this, but I won't know it" ✨
Angie Dickinson 101 learn ladies this is a real lady beautiful !
Hello Dear , How are you?
She has such a sense of humor about her former sexy self . She knew she was hot but had a sense that it was temporary . It’s the way she talked , moved , was sensual to reach your mind and heart rather than being perfect physically .She has enough class to keep secret secret honoring what was private private . I think everyone meets a person that they could see themselves with if they were single when they are taken . I think Angie feels that way about a lot of the leading men she worked with
She looks and sounds great for her age and has a great senses of humour, she’s a happy soul😇
She’s an amazing women.
I simply love Angie Dickinson, she's the greatest. I love WHO she is, she's dead honest and I respect that.
I can watch her and listen to her all day! She is wise. Love, love, love her.
From one Mo to another... That was a great interview Mr. Rocco!
