God, the way she speaks - so calm, so powerful, enough to bring tears to your eyes.
Welcome to the Washington State Supreme court, Justice Whitener :) You represent the best in Washington
Yes, we can do it "side by side". Helen is an amazing communicator. The world is better with Helen in it.
She is so cute! I love her message and attitude. She as an energy of strength and dignity.
Beautiful, owning who you are and treating others with respect to receive it yourself is a beautiful moral.
"We have differences but, we are not truly different". I loved that part.
That's meaningless word soup.
@@fredjimbob2962 It can be. However it means we are all different but if we can set aside the differences that divide us, we can find much in common. JIMBOB
@@alozzzy1213 Ok, it's not word soup but I think it's kind of stating the obvious. Love your prince cover btw, I used to be a big prince fan. You're a great singer and have such a calming, serene voice.
@@fredjimbob2962 It does state the obvious. Sometimes it's nice to have those reminders. Thank you by the way. That really made my day. I hope you have an amazing holiday weekend. Keep smiling.
Amazing talk. Glad things worked out with her and her mother - when I get a chance to cut mine off, I’m never going back because she’s toxic and refuses to change and I don’t need anyone in my life who thinks I don’t matter. Know your self worth and cut off anyone who tries to bring you down.
I recently fell out with my father. He is so self absorbed, stubborn and lacks empathy (I have GAD and PTSD). He chose to cut me off last week after a disagreement which resulted in me catastrophizing everything (me, the world, my life etc) which resulted in me having multiple panic attacks. I spoke with a friend of mine about it and he responded saying that it sounds like it was a good result in the end. When I asked him why, he said "its the lesser of 2 evils. Its better to feel temporary pain and hurt by him cutting you off then having continuous disputes which has caused you to have multiple panic attacks". He was so right! And now here I am, binging these TedX talks which has also helped me tremendously!!
It sounds like you already know deep down that you need to cut her off (rather then waiting for "when you get a chance to"). I respect that its a hard choice to make, but its important for us to get to a point where we not only know our self worth, but truly believe it. From the gut. We each have a choice to make - to keep negative energy around us or to move our compass to something more rewarding and positive - by putting OUR mental wellbeing FIRST! I really wish you all the very best Kerry
@@youtubeaddict5663 thank you for the advice! You and your journey are amazing ❤️
@@candykandy no you are amazing ❤️❤️ I really hope you can find the strength within yourself to(at the very least) distance yourself away from toxic people in your life. It’s easier to do that of course if you don’t live with the person haha, but now I’m “too busy to talk” and I’ve turned off notifications on my phone to assist with me putting myself first. You are not alone Kerry 💋
Thank you for sharing this. I don't understand how it has only 89k views. Nm! If you are here, I know you are good and I hope you get success in whatever you do. Lots of love! Know ur self worth
This woman's word transformed my idea of what respect is & understanding the codes I was so unaware affected me to such a large extent.
Doing my research on Helen Whitener to recommend her for endorsement for our legislative district. I am so impressed and all my research has convinced me to proudly recommend her with the utmost confidence.
One of the most powerful speeches I’ve heard in a while. Yessssss I love this.
What a brilliant speaker! The most powerful and flawless presentation ever! Bravo!!!
Thanks a million. Her beauty is without bounds
One of the BEST talks I have heard in a LONG time!! Thank you Judge Helen Whitener for this POWERFUL message!!
Thanks for sharing not that you needed to hear that, but the religious community needs to understand what it means to live in your own identity as the Psalmist says in Psalm 139: 14 "I am fearfully and wonderfully made!" Be blessed.
One word, Uplifting!
Great speech through & through.
I was blown away. Brilliant!!
Brilliant Helen, thank you for sharing your wonderful womanly wisdom!
Judge Helen, amazing talk!! your style and voice reminded me of my all time sweet heart-inspiration Maya Angelou! Stay blessed!! Profound talk!!
“Let each one examine his own actions, and then he will have cause for rejoicing in regard to himself alone, and not in comparison with the other person.”
Strengths: What talents and skills do I have? What are my strong points? (For example: Am I punctual? self-controlled? hardworking? generous?) What positive things do I do?

I loved her speech!! Side by side.
This is like Dr. Seuss for grownups
She speaks like an angel 👼🤯👩🏾💼
love this woman
Love this, love her!
If anyone has seen How to Get Away with Murder, she is definitely Viola Davis as Annalise Keating!
Wonderful talk!!! So true!
Thank you!
She is awesome!
That was awesome!! ❤️❤️❤️
Everytime the speaker mentions the word respect, its followed by the word 'each other'. That's what is the take home.
Love it!
Awesome!
I am sorry you have to deal with such terrible treatment. You handle yourself beautifully, in spite of it.
Nailed it.
Is it just me or something about the way she speaks reminds me of Maya Angelou 🤔
Yoooo that plenty of chores part got me 😂😂😂
Inspiring
Well said
Anybody knows the title of the poem?
i love the jamaican twang in her voice
she's Trinidadian hun
Not Jamaican. Do you see the sign? Port of Spain. I will leave you to do the research.
Did you not listen to hear talk? She said Trinidad
There are many islands in the Caribbean. Listen and you can distinguish the difference.
I am kindly asking for the name of the poem ?
1:14 - 4:14
my left ear just exploded
Anyone know the name of the poem she was reciting at the beginning?
strangely, I've been searching "accepting your identity" on youtube but all I get is "superficial" videos. nothing spiritual but accepting your race or outer apearannce. a bit disapointing.
6:39 👌🏽👌🏽
Thats a trini accent for sure...
Side by side
I’m a person of colour and this is my excuse for everything that doesn’t go right in my life.
I can do your chores ...$300 / hr...and a glass of sweet tea .....homemade
Has she been over sharing? No one needs to know what you do in the bedroom or where ever you so choose to get intimate or who you do it with.
Is there any evidence or is this purely just a rant fueled by anecdotal anxieties?
She lost me when she started with skin colour ... it has to be racism , right ?
Let me guess. You are white?
@@nailakamana763 Andries is an African surname.
