We haven't been back to San Simeon in several years - we are now full time in our Grand Design Imagine 17MKE! If you are heading up to Northern CA, here is a new one we stopped at & really enjoyed. PS my videos are a bit better these days :)

Nice campground. Just got back from our 4th trip in our new 180. Found a Corp of Enginers park on a lake about 130 miles from home. Super nice park, clean and spacious. Had a blast and will definitely return. Sandy Creek park on Lake Steinhagen close to Jasper TX.
I will look that campground up! I was watching a few videos on places in Texas - looked amazing! I have friends and family in Texas, so hope to get that way if I can not work... Great you are using your 180!!

Thanks Sean! Not yet, but would love to. Just want to go when it's not too cold and not too crowded. We did like Mountain Home State Demonstration Forest - South of Sequoia. It wasn't crowded, but it was COLD!!

Hi mtn ride! Thank you! Glad you found us. We have not walked all the way in to town, however have been told it is doable. I think the path just across the street by the little museum does lead all the way to the Embarcadero. Our dog would never make that walk in and back... she is getting old :(

Hi! It might be C31 - it could be one site on either side of that one, so possibly C29 or C34. If you look at the map on the reservations site you will see a few alongside of the upper loop that look like that. It’s been awhile since we were there though!

Any good surf spots near by?
KALANI12017 not sure - the water is a bit too cold for me this far up the coast. Spent s few years on our boat in Mexico and now I am spoiled 😬
Yes, Cayucos by the pier is a great place to surf! I wouldn't surf by the elephant seals between them and the great whites that frequent the area. It's a gorgeous area to hike and explore, surf fish or visit the seals. Check out San Simeon pier for possible whale and dolphin sightings!
anyone know if the restrooms and showers are back open? i havent been there since probably the year this video was made and they shut them down

I think ok up on the hill - this video is from several years ago so hard for me to remember (and we are in the road - crossed from CA all the way to the East Coast, currently in Texas, so don’t have my travel journals).
Is kayaking allowed?
I saw stand up paddlers here - the creek doesn't have a lot of deep water for far, so might not be the best for kayaking and the surf can get a little crazy on this beach, so it's not one I would bother taking my kayak. Up the coast in San Simeon Cove it would be beautiful kayaking and south in Morro Bay is amazing kayaking! Both of those areas would be safer and more interesting by far. Thanks for watching!

No dogs at the beach?!?!
Sadly no... seems a lot of California State Beaches do not allow dogs. Just down the coast in Cayucos there are several dog friendly beaches that are beautiful!
Rich people buy and built 20 feet distance from water ,poor people have to park 500 feet away from water.
