did they really move this fast in the film? pretty sure that would've got that candle extinguished several times 😅 I should probably watch Crimson Peak, if only it has all my favorite actors on the main cast 👏👏👏
definitely would of snuffed out the light lol I get what they're getting at to speed things up but a candle can't move that quickly without losing its flame.. find it hard to believe. Great movie though
That was a very pretty Viennese waltz. 😍 Especially considering these are actors, not trained dancers. Looking at the comments saying they could do better, yes you absolutely could if you are trained, even hobby level trained, but actors don't have time for that. I'm just so happy they kept the 4 point hold (5 would be too scandalous, I guess 😂), and didn't let them go at all during the duration, nothing snaps me out of a 'waltz' scene more, honestly.
@@emb74 A 5 point hold is what is accurate for an English or Viennese Waltz. The leader leads the follow by 1: the palms on one hand 2: hand on bicep on lead 3: hand on back on follow 4: elbows on those arms touching And finally, the most scandalous one 5: lower ribs/upper hip on the right front side touching. (This is so that you won't accidentally knee your partner in the crotch, if there's a big hight difference and the follow is taller than the lead.) With those 5 points touching, I once met and danced with a lead who I'd never met, and didn't speak the same language as, and he lead me perfectly through some of the more advanced steps. It felt absolutely wonderful.
I have not seen Crimson Peak or know the story but I love seeing the sour looks on the faces of the women shooting daggers at the female dancing! Lovely dancing.
If you want to see a truly perfect waltz, look up Louis Jourdan and Grace Kelly in The Swan. Every movement is exquisite, down to her precise head turns. The dance begins at a little past the 3/4 mark. You may forget to breathe.
The girl who danced with Tom just now looked so much like the main lead in Jane eyre... its true lol its such a small world 😂 she did Jane erye with Michael Fassbender n he's one of my favs anyways the dance was amazing it blew my mind it was so hot 😳😫
I saw it go out once while watching this. I started laughing Because he was explaining how it won’t go out and they caught on camera that it did, about half way through the dance. Hahaha
No. It actually did stay alight. Tom talks about it in an interview. It did have a double wick guy I don’t think it made much difference they were just SO smooth.
Actually not too thrilled with that one. I don’t like the “arm behind the back style” and also he isn’t really that smooth. However, wow! Is the young Sean Bean gorgeous!
Likely the mark of a good actor, but Hiddleston creeped me out from the first second he came on screen in this movie. His character was "off" and I remember being so disappointed in Edith that she fell for him over the solid guy who clearly loved her. The waltz scene was a bit of horror for that reason. To see something beautiful and wrong - blech!
well..that was unrealistic.. that flame wouldve definitely gone out and what about the wax dripping?! on their hands, getting flingged in the crowd. That said... I must definitely watch this movie!
