Green Social Complex - Bursa
The complex of Mehmed Çelebi, who was buried in the Green Tomb built in his name in Bursa, gave a new life to Bursa, which was destroyed after Timur. It is called the Green Social Complex due to the color of the turquoise Iznik tiles of the tomb. The difference of the Green Social Complex, which consists of a mosque, tomb, madrasah, bathhouse and soup kitchen, from others is that these structures are placed freely.
Bursa and the Ottoman Empire, which were devastated after Timur, were revived both architecturally, culturally and socially with the Green Complex. Green Complex is not just a mosque. There are also structures such as madrasah, bath, arasta and tabhane within the social complex. These structures provide important information about education, health and commercial life in the Ottoman period. The sundial adorning the dome of the madrasah adds a mysterious atmosphere to the historical texture of the complex. The Green Mosque, from which the complex takes its name, dazzles with its tiles. These tiles, dominated by turquoise and emerald tones, create a magical atmosphere by refraction of light. The interior of the mosque is equally impressive. The calligraphy and pen works decorating the walls are almost works of art.
One of the most important buildings of the Green Complex is the tomb of Çelebi Sultan Mehmed. This tomb, covered with turquoise and blue tiles, is one of the most beautiful examples of Ottoman architecture. The interior of the tomb is also quite impressive. The Sultan's sarcophagus and the sarcophagi of other family members add a special meaning to the tomb.
Green Complex Visiting Hours:
Green Complex is open to visitors every day between 09:00 in the morning and 19:00 in the evening. Those who have a museum card can visit the complex for free, while those who do not have a museum card can visit the complex for a certain fee.
Yeşil Külliyesi - Bursa
Bursa'da kendi adına yaptırdığı Yeşil Türbe'ye defnedilen Mehmed Çelebi'nin külliyesi, Timur sonrası yıkılan Bursa'ya yeni bir hayat vermiştir. Türbenin turkuaz rengindeki İznik çinilerinin renginden ötürü Yeşil Külliyesi denilmektedir. Cami, türbe,medrese,hamam ve imaretten oluşan Yeşil Külliye'nin diğerlerinden farkı, bu yapıların serbest olarak yerleştirilmiş olmasıdır.
Timur sonrası harap olan Bursa ve Osmanlı Devleti, Yeşil Külliye ile birlikte hem mimaride hem de kültürel ve sosyal bakımdan yeniden şahlanmıştır. Yeşil Külliye sadece bir camiden ibaret değildir. Külliye içerisinde medrese, hamam, arasta ve tabhane gibi yapılar da bulunmaktadır. Bu yapılar, Osmanlı dönemindeki eğitim, sağlık ve ticaret hayatına dair önemli bilgiler sunmaktadır. Medresenin kubbesini süsleyen güneş saati ise, külliyenin tarihi dokusuna gizemli bir hava katmaktadır.Külliyenin ismini aldığı Yeşil Camii, çinileri ile adeta göz kamaştırır. Turkuaz ve zümrüt tonlarının hakim olduğu bu çiniler, ışığın kırılmasıyla büyülü bir atmosfer yaratır. Caminin içi de bir o kadar etkileyicidir. Duvarları süsleyen hat yazıları ve kalem işleri, adeta birer sanat eseridir.
Yeşil Külliye'nin en önemli yapılarından biri de Çelebi Sultan Mehmed'in türbesidir. Turkuaz ve mavi çinilerle kaplı bu türbe, Osmanlı mimarisinin en güzel örneklerinden biridir. Türbenin içi de oldukça etkileyicidir. Sultan'ın sandukası ve diğer aile üyelerinin sandukaları, türbeye ayrı bir anlam katmaktadır.
Yeşil Külliye Ziyaret Saatleri:
Yeşil Külliye, her gün sabah 09:00 ile akşam 19:00 saatleri arasında ziyarete açıktır. Müze kartı olanlar ücretsiz olarak, olmayanlar ise belirli bir ücret karşılığında külliyeyi gezebilirler.
