- Ahoy and welcome to another LEGO Review. Today we're talking about set 10320, the all new LEGO Icons Eldorado Fortress Set. This set just released in June 2023, contains 2500 pieces, and costs £189.99 / $214.99 / 214.99€. This recreation of a classic LEGO Pirates set is a fitting tribute to the original released in 1989. The details are immaculate, the play features are fun for AFOLs and their kids alike, the minifigures are fantastic, and the completed fort is formidable both as a fortress and as an iconic LEGO creation.

What a great review Josh! Your script is so well written, goes to show you have put a lot of fort into it. And very nice editing and transition graphics too! I’ll definitely be picking this set up to pair it with my barracuda and imperial flagship! The modularity gives it exciting options for display too, a great touch.

Awesome video! 5yo me is super excited to get this set. Thanks can remember building the original set in the early 90s it was one of the first Lego set I ever got. Serious nostalgia for me.

Although the city is name after the gilded one of gold. It wasn’t real. So there never was any gold. So while I too was disappointed there weren’t gold coins - it’s more historically accurate. Minus all the dead native people

As a matter of fact I am a fan of the inverted 45 angle slope 2 x 2 brick.

The two soldiers with the tricorne hats are most likely supposed to be an officer and an imperial sailor.
An imperial officer was included in the original Eldorado Fortress, but instead of the sailor there was a fourth one of those normal soldiers with backpacks and tall hats. Lego most likely included her to go with the new merchant ship, as you can see from all the official images. You may think that the sailor is just another officer by looking at the hat, but with normal red colored epaulettes she can't be one as all higher ranking soldiers have golden ones (in the original sets they were yellow instead of gold). Also, if you look at old pirates sets, the imperial soldiers' apparent flagship Caribbean Clipper included three imperial sailors that have all the same gear as the new one in the set with same red epaulettes and tricorne hats.
The officer can be identifed with the golden epaulettes as I already said.

As always, your writing and delivery are some of the best in all of RUclips. I do, however, have a question for you; I've noticed you use a tablet to view your Lego instructions. Is there a reason beyond preference for not using the paper instructions?
It just takes up less space and is easier to navigate than flipping pages. Just a convenience thing.

This product is truly fantastic.
But it took me 12 hours to build this.
I thought it was a bit small but seeing that wide spread out mode I realise its like the lion knights castle, only piratey
This set has made me want the Lion Knight's Castle set. I don't know if I can afford to be a fan of castle and pirates though.

Honestly at the rate LEGO cycles through sets these days, we'll be lucky if this isn't retired before then.
What a lovely review. What are you thoughts on how some of the walls don’t all the way around (e.g. - the commander’s quarters has a gap in the wall near the cannon). I get it for the modularity but it seems out of place.
I agree, it's frustrating that the walls lead to nowhere depending on how the fort is configured. You can get some things to line up but I haven't found one configuration where everything lines up in a completely satisfactory way. Makes me want to build some additional fort modules to fill in the gaps 👀

1989.... i was 5 years old and i did have the pirate ship as mine first big lego and mine parents are poor so it was really big to play. even i did not build. after 4 days building by mine mother i did destroy it and mine mother was little angry about it. so she did build for the last time and if it again happens i just need rebuild my self. nice memory of it.
yeah the tradingpost was mine first soldier island and i did have the parts i try someday rebuild it and display it again licky the island is intact only aged due the times.

My biggest regret with this set is I bought then a week later they have GWP I could have got
Lego really needs to come out with a line of the classic themes. Having 1 or 2 sets come out with no context is causing me to lose interest, For instance the Lions knight castle was the first set I have bought in 25 years! and its really great.... but so slow if even anything to really go with it.... Taking years when there are countless great MOCs people give them and instead producing a lot of questionable model gimicky sets causes me to think about it. For instance again if people would have known (which I did not know about) the baracuda bay when it came out a few years later something like this would may have helped give that some context to play with. But waiting so many years is kind of pointless. I have both the old baracuda and fort, they were some of my only lego that didnt get broken down as much and overall were the most play value out of. Its hard to say if getting this is worth it since its so very similar. THough a pretty awesome piece in itself. I like it a lot and the ship too. but still.... without a clue if they will make another clipper ship any time soon or help me build a medieval line, what is the point. Thank you.

This is definately NOT a must have. It is bad designed, too expensive and simple jump on the money for the 30+ yo customers, who have a sentiment to this set.
Better to buy an old one or baracuda.
