Danijellino There’s a few ways in which i feel the cgi made it worse: the fights lacked impact and most looked kind of boring and repetitive, and the art looked pretty stupid. That’s not even mentioning the shit ton of content they axed that was in the manga
The series really does show you that natural talent regularly beats hard work. Hardwork can win if that naturally talent person is holding back and cocky. But If Kaneda had the body to match his fighting iq he’d probably put up a better fight but even then GAO is naturally talented and probably still win. Even if Kaneda DID win, he’ll have to fight people with overwhelming speed or power like Ohma or wakatsuki and he wouldn’t stand a chance...it’s actually kind of sad if only he born with better genetics 🧬. But hey I respect him for trying
There's a reason the saying goes hard work beats talent WHEN talent doesn't work hard. If someone is talented and works hard it's sadly impossible for someone not talented to catch up.
Because even when the fights get ridiculous, they still feel grounded, like you can actually take the fight seriously and that these kinds of people are perfectly plausible in reality, Baki is fun but it really does stretch your suspension of disbelief to the limit, kengan takes liberties but always delivers

Whoever was in charge of animating Gaolang did amazing the way he throws his jab so straight and fast and clean is so satisfying to watch ! I hope we see more of Kaneda tho :( his story is among my favorites in kengan ashura so watching this fight made me hella conflicted :/

The way he keeps his guard and moves so fluidly while being able to chain those non-stop jackhammer jabs until your defense wears down enough for him to deliver that killer body shot or knock out strike is unreal. And he does it without even elevating his heart rate. He's f****** S tier. No doubt

Krillin was super skillful though, he came up with 2 techniqu all on his own and modified solar flare to affect his opponent's ki sensing. He just wasn't a Saiyan so he didn't have those mad zenkai gainz.
Kaneda's weakness lies in his fighting style. His body takes a beating while he tries to read his opponent, taking tons of damage. Even a strong bodied fighter has a limit to how much damage a body can endure before buckling under the stress. Not only that, he was up against someone who knew full well how he was fighting and adapted his style just enough to fool his predictions.
Kaneda is the type who could be a fighting tactician if he really wanted honestly, even though he may not be as physically built as the rest of the fighters, that doesn't stop him from putting up a fight. Sure, not everyone who is built like Gaolang [BUILT LIKE HIM, NOT IS HIM] may not want to think the way Kaneda does, but strength can only go so far compared to a mind like that. If he had kept that kinda mindset and had the body to back it up, I'd say he'd be the strongest competitor there
Kaneda was hopped up on so many pain killers during this match. Also I'm kind of shocked that his fore arms aren't pulverized after using them to block gaolangs punches.

Kaneda i would love to see win, but Kengan is much more realistic then other series. Those who suffered and worked incredibly hard to get where they are dont always end up getting what they want. Kaneda was never as strong as others and was never given the chance to be, but he isnt someone to pity, he fights even when he know that he will always end up losing.
Kaneda was not to be taken lightly. His techniques and analysis were top-notch even Gao got serious once the former figured out his movement. If he was as physically strong as Gao or perhaps Ohma, Kaneda would be one of the strongest.

Gaolang was specifically created to beat the trend of boxers jobbing in fight manga by demonstrating that a skilled heavyweight will fuck you up.
