Celestial contact in Urantia movement: a panel discussion

- This panel will consider the controversial claim by some that the Lucifer Rebellion (covered in papers 53 and 54 in the Urantia Book) has already been adjudicated in heavenly courts. This event of "Adjudication" permitted the recent lifting of the quarantine of our planet that purportedly occurred in 1985. This allowed the re-encircuitment of the planet, which was then followed by open contact by celestial teachers worldwide with Urantia students (and many others). This idea of the Adjudication and subsequent contact is a cardinal belief of the Teaching Mission, an important minority movement within the Urantia community over the last 20 years. Beginning especially in 1991, scores of groups and individuals around the U.S. report that they were contacted by celestial beings who are affiliated with the Urantia Revelation. These beings, hundreds in number, provided “transmissions” to persons in numerous locations, offering a beginning curriculum of two years of lessons in spirituality, followed by ongoing contact every since. This was just one part of the newly inaugurated “Correcting Time,” a co-creative mission of planetary reclamation. Its first phase, known as the Teaching Mission, began with the purported termination of the Lucifer Rebellion and the ending of the planetary quarantine; the second phase, called the Magisterial Mission, began about 10 years later and will last for a millennium. The result will be the reclamation and rehabilitation of our planet, Urantia, thereby undoing the legacy of the Lucifer Rebellion.
In this clip, Byron Belitsos moderates a panel on this subject that will include three distinguished speakers on different sides of the issue who are veteran Urantia students:
• Chuck Thurston, an outspoken skeptic and critic of the claims of celestial contact.
• Meredith Tenney, a long-time participant in the Teaching Mission and the Magisterial Mission who has a "moderate" position on the phenomenon

We don't have to figure everything out. Our language is confusion can always be put with the spin in either direction. Take what you have learned from the book that's important that your relationship with God is yours nobody else's we don't need to worry about others relationship with God because their relationship is with God. Try in the morning when you wake up to feel God around you. Then talk to him as much as possible I know it's hard but he is the best friend you could ever have. He needs relationships with people start one with him in depth he's right there talk to him like you would talk to your best friend. He wants to you to be close to him. Make a true connection think about him being there. It will make you to act out of love. Because you know he's there. And you know that is how he wants you to be. But will never demand it. And will never shame you or bring it up. He knows how many times you will make mistakes. And he says that's 560 only a thousand more. And feelmore for other people's feelings then you do for your own. One might say who is going to think about me. Everybody else. When everybody feels More for the other people's feelings then everyone is feeling more for your feelings and you do not have to be greedy thinking about your own. You can be giving thinking about what you can do for others. While others would be thinking what they could do for you. Joke with him laugh with him as if you were talking to yourself. Because he is part of you that part of you you talk to let it be God.
I am a bit saddened by this debate. I think more needs to be said for the Teaching Mission albeit I do understand his emotions regarding the situation. I feel like I have a very strong and valid message to give regarding the whole debate. Should you ever redo this debate Byron please feel free to get back in contact. I am a younger generation of reader and I think it would be refreshing to hear somebody from the younger generations' perspective on the whole subject.
Why worried over the minucius of the book The Love is always there. I've never felt more love in my life.
Thanks for sharing. For me, the commutation with the adjuster is the best part of living. I found great relief in the fact that the Father does not make a place of etenal torment as Abrhamic faiths portray. Personality survival is based on wanting to continue existence on the trek to paradise. I have really grown in my optimism towards individuals. I used to worry so much about differences of opinion, now I can just step back and know the fact that if a person loves the Father they'll be just fine. God will advance their understanding at a different juncture in their own relationship with Him on towards paradise. So merciful and kind He is. I love Him. Peace to y'all.
During Jesus souljourn. He asked to confront Lucifer Satan and the devil. He offered them God's forgiveness for he always in thought word and deed said father your will not mine. It was God's will to offer them forgiveness. They said no. Because to take his forgiveness would be to admit he exists. So they judged themselves. And chose not forgiveness. . Jesus knew he could not judge them. And allow them to judge themselves. They decided not to exist.they were given free will. And God does not break his promises.

Evil is everywhere. It cannot touch you. Sin is when you in your heart decide that it's against God and you choose to do it anyway. It is direct Rebellion. Whether it's wrong or not. If you act out of love. Even if you're wrong you are not. It's never wrong to act out of love God is love so that would be his will. Whether you're right or wrong you can never be wrong acting out of love. It's the best you can do. Evel doesn't exist sin doesn't exist until it is found within you. It is a choice. Your choice.
Learning to live "on earth as it is in heaven" is a learned process. Making one's own conscious connection between "heaven and earth" is the magnum opus. And as we do so, we enter into those "greater works than I have done, ye will do." A.T.O.M.
I really enjoy your having many points of view going on at the same time. I think this shows a great deal of spiritual maturity on the part of the panel. I have also learned to appreciate and value uncertainty, honest uncertainty. As I'm sure you know, reading books on the lives of great piano players doesn't do much to further one's own playing.
To " umaara100" concerning what kind of angel Lucifer was. First of all, it might help to distinguish between the spiritual beings coming from the line of descent from the Eternal Son on down to the Creator Son who are the authorities creating and ruling their various universe domains, and the descendants of the Infinite Spirit on down to the Mother Spirit who are what we invision as the angelic orders. Lucifer and other ruling spiritual beings within our local universe are of the "Dek" variety (Melchizedek, Vorondadek, and Lanonandek) having descend from both the Creator Son and the Mother Spirit, so they are above the angels in authority and not really classified as a full angels. True angels are basically the descendants of the Infintie Spirit alone and there are numerous levels of angelic functions and influences on all levels of universal reality including the eternal central universe. Lucifer was the onetime ruler of our system of planets and had as his first assistant Satan, and our planet had as its spiritual head Calagastia (the Devil). Somewhere, Lucifer became convinced that he had a better plan for mortal development than the higher rulers of our universe up to and including our Creator Son (the incarnate Jesus). Our planet being so young during those times of the Lucifer rebellion fell into the discord of the rebel authoities including our Planetary Prince Calagastia, and hence the tragic course of our misguided world history and the whole situation of the negative spiritual repercussions of humanity. So, Lucifer was a high spiritual being in relationship to our world, but way down on a low level compared to the numerous higher spiritual beings and he was nothing to compare with universally advanced spiritual beings such as the Ancients of Days, Seven Master Spirits, not to mention the members of the universal and eternal Trinity centered in God the Father who is all of realities ultimate Creator and Controller.
To "Park Bench"...Lucifer did not have Cain with Eve, that is a whole other storyline which should be studied in the Urantia Book for clarification. Neither did Lucifer have anything to do in influencing the Bible. Scripture comes from the influences of the descendants of Seth through Noah and with the supernatural mentor Melchizedek with Abraham on through Moses and the Prophets etc. which established the Hebrew history leading to Christ.
There is truth in each position. the urantia book has been useful to me in explaining various spiritual experiences occurring throughout my life. Dying as a result of a suggestion of lucifer, returning to life because of choosing the Will of a God based strictly on faith, first asking if there is a God. Jesus repeatedly teaching me in visions and then testing me. Being given spiritual gifts by the father, ect. We are being guided in multiple ways toward the light. I was projected through the void by love to the Source of Light/love and saw the shimmering light particles extending from the creator into creation. I desired the bliss and was thrown out of the Light presence because only giving is God nature. Jesus taught me how to take the power from evil without destroying the person in which evil resides. the power of evil is replaced by fear of the same intensity of the evil in that same person. Jesus is a good friend and is available now. Jesus can still incarnate in human form. You will know him by the gentle love that emanates from him. We are guided to BE LOVE and choose to the will of the Father. I am guided by the VIBRATION of the holy Spirit. Tune in to the VIBRATION it does not require translation and is totally personal, pictures and words can be misunderstood. It seems that vibrations have no bounds, no web connection necessary.
I think that some people can't handle the truth, the reason I am saying this is because the UB clearly explain what happens went a person or a group try to accelerate our father's plan .,I think all you're doing is confusing potential new readers .
Yes new readers. But for those of us who have been reading it like me through the 70s. Need to discuss these things with others. One can put things together when he has more than one table of thought he can put the puzzle together. I can't figure out everything. Unless I have others who have figured out parts of it for me. And I in my mind can figure out where the pieces fit. And I have questions.
But you are right these meetings are not for the beginners it can only confuse them immensely.

The revelators wouldn't dare do something that would undermine adoption of the revelation among the masses. It takes quite a leap for most sober-minded individuals to even read the book, let alone take it serious. Add to it something about people getting messages from the celestials about X, Y, or Z and being taken serious and you will kill the book as a result. Forever relegated to the sidelines of esoterica and weird "alternative religion" stuff. The content of these so-called messages is irrelevant and shouldn't even be addressed or taken serious to begin with. Period.
Side-tracking others, whether long-time readers or not, would be counter-productive and would naturally be avoided by anyone that has spreading the revelation as their primary goal. It's destructive to the movement and better expressed as a self-inflicted fatal wound if it was actually true.
The Teaching Mission needs to be universally condemned and encouraged to quickly die out.

The Boulder group celebrated Jesus' 2000th anniversary of his birth, up in the mountains, at 2AM in the morning, corresponding to noon Bethlehem time. I believe I had heard Jesus ask me to TR for him at that event, but not being a very proficient TR, (my wife Joi being far better), I was too reluctant to do so, because the group was so split on the Teaching Mission. I regret my reluctance, although I'm sure the Master understands. He wanted to express his love and admiration for our work.
Emotions had run high during the course of a few preceding years as to the legitimacy of the Teaching Mission, but more or less resolved with an agreement to disagree at that birthday celebration. I was grateful for that development.
A few years later, in January 2003, shortly after my heart transplant, which the Boulder group had so generously supported (much love and thanks!) I had an unbelievable experience of our Divine Father-friend's love that was so powerful that I was sobbing uncontrollably. I had no idea he loved me so much, (in spite of having read numerous times that his love for us was infinite). Experiencing it was vastly different from reading about it. We have since become fast friends leading to my now spirit identification.
I agree with Meredith, it's hard to know for sure if what you're hearing is from self or spirit. Although it has become a lot easier for me to discern when it is the Father. The Teaching Mission has a number of goals, and for the individual teachers, the main one is to assist us in making contact with our Thought Adjusters (with midwayer assistance). They succeeded with me. I thank my teacher for that.

in 1987 88 I knew of the judgement of the rebels and that they had been found guilty and commited suicide in 1985. I was seeking the urantia book without knowing the name my friends told me of the urantia book. my spiritual experience that I had in 1983, where I traveled back in time to tutankhamens timeon tje way I saw jesus on the cross, the atmosphere was dark and the color was orange, on thw way back I saw a boy playing on the roof and knew it was jesus and I was ahead of a sand storm, my friend asked me where all the sand came from a few days later, his house was a pyramid and I spent some time in the upper third.
What are these so called "new transmissions" that is being talked about? I know of only one Urantia Book text. Are there others? Chuck Thurston obviously makes the best point for those who believe that the UB is actually a revelation and not just a human product.

A good starting point for the "new" transmission is a book by Fred Harris called The Center Within.
The broader scope is called The Teaching Mission, and the Correcting Time, which is focused on correcting the thought patterns left over from the Lucifer Rebelion, (e.g., the ends justify the means). Teachers are available to individuals to help them establish better contact with their Thought Adjusters. All you have to do is ask to be assigned one. Bear in mind however, that it's a good idea to first ask your Thought Adjuster to protect you from all beings who are not there to do the Father's work, as there do seem to be non-physical entities who have dishonorable intentions. Not "demons" per se, as we're told those were mischievous midwayers who were rounded up at the end of Jesus' time on Earth. But there do seem to be either Earth-bound spirits who refused to go into the light, or some other type of being, that can cause trouble if one is vulnerable. But given that caveat, your TA will let you have contact with a teacher from the Teaching Mission.
People who develop the ability to receive their messages are called Transmitter/Receivers (TRs) and they let messages come thru from a variety of sources, including Melchizedeks, that augment the lessons in the UB.

Did you know Christ Michael? He was here until 02/24/14. He claimed to be an Avonal Son on a Magisterial Mission. I moved in next door. The first words he said to me were, "Do you have any of idea of how strong the spirit shines in you?"
He incarnated into a dead man, thirteen years before I met him. We were friends for 15 years until his brothers came for him and took him to Paradise (Paradise, CA -- strange but true). I told him to his face I didn't believe him. Sometimes I . . .
Can contact be made with any of these beings? Is revelation on-going or closed?
The revelators went through tremendous trouble to avoid the revelation being seen as derived from channeling, etc. Why would they do the opposite like what these people are claiming after the fact with "new messages" and "new revelations?" Answer, they wouldn't be that dumb. It's a leap for a lot of serious-minded people to read and adopt TUB in the first place. For the revelators to undermine their own initial efforts with a lot of subsequent "woo-woo" channeling and whatnot doesn't make sense. In fact it's entirely destructive and no one will take TUB serious as a result.
These people are already described within the pages of TUB as self-deluded. They are without question very well-meaning, but they are self-deluded. We all need to have enough wisdom to recognize those that are very energized by new truths and profound leaps in spiritual advancement without following their personal internal monologues that this is something more than their own internal minds processing all of this wondrous experiential data.
Why is it that followers of the UB are in contact with beings who are associated with the Urantia Revelation? And believers in the "New Age" movement are in contact with their spirit guides who claim different things about a spiritual war that is ongoing? Still others are in contact with Galactic Federations, Pleiadians, angels, and on and on...
The common pattern is that all of these people seem to be in contact with beings that reaffirm their own beliefs. I'm not saying that any one teaching is wrong; I have developed a firm belief in *some* sort of spiritual, mystical side to our reality that we've yet to fully understand. I'm just observing and asking others why they think this happens?
I think some persons enjoy the attention of being "unique" (as every single person is , anyway) so they attribute unusual (to them) experiences of their reality and psychology to being "of other's" origin, of which, possibly CosmosGodinHearts IS the actual source of their insights. Our tiny minds WILL put things into context WE can understand, right or wrong.
I read the UB. Please do NOT lump me in with the TR folks! Much like what Ellen Rose said, people crave to be unique in their own right. I don't mean to discount anyone's personal experience, but I have found that the TR movement's content is very much in line with Urantia Book content and doesn't bring anything new to the table. That is my own personal opinion, take it as you will.
I was once told by Father that he has many schools. We each choose which one makes the most sense to us. If one is learning how to love oneself and others, the source of the teaching is to be honored.
The UB merely represents one such avenue of learning. It's designed for folks who are highly intellectual. A Course in Miracles is more touchie feelie. I've also read other channeled works, and each has some value within.

I do not feel that the judgment has been carried out. For Jesus says he is like the shepherd who when one of his sheep Strays from the flock he goes out and looks for him. It says God not willing that any should perish. He said that we should not judge it is for them to judge themselves. It is a problem that I have a confusion that troubles me. I need to talk to Jesus personally and find out if it would be wrong for me to administer 2 Lucifer Satan and the devil. And ask them to accept the Forgiveness of God. when the one son left and squandered his wealth. And came back the father had joy in his heart. The other son was angry with this father's decision and his love. And I know that this is not Jesus for Jesus in every thought word and deed says father your will not mine. And if God is willing that none should perish then the judgment could not have been made I feel. But I've always trusted what Jesus says and if he tells me I shouldn't administer an offer of Mercy when he offered his Tender Mercies and was turned down he could tell me whether I would be wasting my time and I would believe him. I always will.
We've been told praying for Lucifer and Satan is fine. If nothing else, it's a good exercise.
I'v got this habit of dosing off with UB audio'ing in the background... i remember hearing first of the black/indigo races and its pure blatancy and thinking WTF... THATS WHY!! (The book does not excel)... didnt put me off tho... the book is the only things that's made sense so far... no offence to anyone - and if u take offence - even that is covered in the book

There is no such thing that's truth as transmitted messages.....the Urantia Book as far as I'm concerned and interpret the 5th Revelation is final word for the time being
No one is saying anyone has to be involved with the Teaching Mission. The UB does a fine job of standing on its own.
On the other hand, if one desires assistance with contacting their Thought Adjuster via a teacher, it is available to them.

Abraham was an El-ite. He traced his ancestry to Seth, Adam and Eve's son, who first taught men about god, EL. By faith, you are an El-ite, too. And we (you too) have been tasked with the progressive perfection of Mankind -- God's composite of unique individuals with ascension promise -- even if it takes us all 6,496 years remaining in Abraham's 10,000 year Covenant (after Moses renegotiated and some years are not counted.) Mankind includes ALL of us, who pass the faith test, from the first human pair, until the last man, and into the afterlife. We are ONE creation --potentially everlasting.
Exercise FAITH to get in shape for the Awakening because the system circuits, severed since Lucifer's rebellion, have been fully restored, and only those with spirit capacity will "SEE" anything besides the devil's War of Gods and Not Gods -- IS I v I AM v I-Rn't-eeth v U-Rn't either -- 2019-2026, or the Jubilee on 09/23/26, to forgive ALL THAT DEBT, and usher in the Neo Eon Currency.
The Vernal Equinox of 2030 marks the Beginning of the 3rd, 1000-year Day of Heaven since Jesus taught us that we are all God's Children -- Love One Another. It brings the fulfillment of the resurrection (on the 3rd day) and final judgement for the devil and dragon.

But we have been told SOONER. 42 Moons sooner is 10/ 11-12 / 26. That seal has now been broken. But there will be no physical manifestation of this event. Only those with spirit Capacity will "SEE". The rest will be "seen" as the unseeing. But they are still us.

We will not likely stop it; (but we have a window of opportunity) the War is the devil's trick. His time is short and with great wrath, the devil tricks man into a war of Gods. proving much of Mankind unfit for the coming Kingdom -- the One World Government led by the Spirit of Jesus.

Actually, the UB explains that owing to the fact that Satan was second in command to Lucifer, that the system was named after him as a way of honoring him. In like manner, some of us have reasoned that Nebadon was named after our Universe Mother Spirit whom some of us call Nebadonia.

It's true, the Urantia Book is not for everybody. One must be a serious truth seeker in order to be drawn to it.
I just finished this book and it is very biased with regard to the races.
I'm a white guy and my initial reaction to the UB was "racist." There were bothersome phrases about "degenerate or inferior racial strains" But now I acknowledge that there is "bad seed" among all the races of color and likewise extraordinary examples of humanity in all the varied peoples of Earth. The notion of spiritual receptivity being linked to DNA was also bothersome to me because it suggested that some people "can't see the light" as well because of their family tree. Perhaps this suggest a reason for the obvious lack of goodness in many people. More uplifting is the way Jesus regarded men and women. He really believed in us and repeatedly pointed out how important we are.

"Biased against races"? What's do is so. I think the sections comparing The Colored Races is wonderful! Each has its strengths and weaknesses. Do God likes *diversity*. The UB wasn't written by "Racists". Open your mind.

The authors of the UB do seem to have the opinion that the yellow race is slightly better than the others, but that all are capable of becoming wonderful children of our Divine Father-friend.
