Are there divers to repair pipe lines on the rigs
Yes ma'am. Bonaparte Moutima Lounana here. I was crew member performing maintenance on this great infrastructure. Welding Piping system and structural components as well. SAFETY IS THE NUMBER ONE PRIORITY ONBOARD FOR EVERYONE FOR SEPCO.
@@bonapartemoutima5242how deep do you weld? How do you protect welds from rust?
Why do it? Money
gulf of Mexico?
jere matthew Johnson Yes
8,000 meters of pipe before it even gets under the ocean floor. No way this could go catastrophically wrong for the entire gulf and all it’s inhabitants. Not to mention the amount of food we harvest out of the gulf. Like a giant metal oil rig sitting on a 8,000 meter straw. Greed will be the death of this planet and us with it. Just to drive a car around….. shamefull !
It's a logistical nightmare but it's pretty damn cool.
Also that rig isn't sitting on a straw, it's sitting on several ~8000 meter foot straws that all follow different paths in the rock to get more oil, and on the bright side every massive oil spill we have we get better at preventing them, surely we've patched most of the bugs by now.
8000 feet, not meters
Not "just to drive a car". Pretty much everything in our world relies on oil in some way
what a cool structure
alot has changed on this rig tho.
If you don’t mind me asking what are the things that you’ve noticed have changed the most?
The other guy asked, could you please answer. If you don’t mind
