First off, my condolences. Your opening statement applies to me as well. Now I’m looking at buying another one many years later. Thanks for making this!
The 900 Convertible turbos were so fun to drive. I just lost my Black 92 Convertible Turbo 5sp to a ford F250, he was on his phone. I will be looking for another one soon.
Along with everyone else I offer my condolences. And I compliment you on a fantastic car! I own a 1987 turbo convertible in red with brown leather interior and only 50k actual miles. It's a 3 speed auto but I would have been foolish to pass up the chance to own it looking for the magic manual trans. I'm now a subscriber to your show!
Thank you Martin! My 1990 Turbo Convertible with the three speed auto is still my favorite car I've ever owned so no hate from me on that transmission.
Great you liked/like the Swedish designed, Finnish made/designed car! 🇫🇮 The cabriolet is 100% Finnish designed and made.(The base was from Saab Sweden from Saab 900 but is was completely redesigned.)
Super beautiful 900! I see none on the road where I live in suburban NY. Restored ones go for a fortune in my area if you can find one. I love my very low mileage Saab 2008 9-3. Hope to keep it👍. Thanks for posting.
Thank you for watching! I am actually considering selling this one, I'd have it serviced first and I'm not 100% sure. Technically its a third or fourth car for me and I love driving it, but it feels weird to have it still and I kinda don't have room for it.
Great video brother! Sorry about your loss. Beautiful car. I'm currently building a 9-5 wagon that I wish my father was here to help with and see finished. Hope you enjoy the car!
Thank you for watching Daryl, and thank you for your sympathy. Good luck on that 9-5 Wagon, I was actually looking at used 9-5 Wagons for sale online the other night and there aren't many left!
@@CarDietrich It took me years to find one. I'm still looking to find an aero wagon, preferably from below the rust belt. All the ones up here in the northeast are rusty and hard to work on, but they've here. I know several guys around New England that are hording them, just gotta wait for them to need some money and maybe I can get one.
Hold on to your Nevada rust free SAAB! My '91 convertible started out in Vegas then to Denver, no rust. My odometer died in the same manner at 168k. Going up very slowly. Super build quality out of Finland. Classic 900s rock! Will last forever if maintained, I daily drive mine. At approximately 185k now. Hoping to go at least 250k.
I have exactly the same one....'89 Cirrus white 900 convertible....imported from the US to the Netherlands...originally sold in Florida...could be the brother/sister car :- )
Dear Dietrich, SAAB did not install the key between the seats, not because airplanes also have the key there, but rather because it is the natural place where the driver's hand wants to fall when getting into the car. It is ergonomics that other car manufacturers have not yet achieved. In all other cars that can be started with a key, you have to look for where to put the key next to the steering column → especially in the dark.
Awesome, I too owned a c900 vert black turbo auto and sold.. And by Sunday this week, I was be owning a white vert turbo manual. Follow my CH because that's where my Saab Journey is reborn
You need to spread your arms out wide when you say quirks and features ;-) We won't ask about the hatchet in the trunk. I always thought the night mode setting for the gauges was cool.
... the key location ... when you want to start the car, you have to do the following ... insert the key, and unlock .... put the car into neutral ... release the handbrake ... start the car ... now how far has your hand moved ??? Yep ... Not very far at all .... ( I used to always beat the BMW's out of the parking spots/lot ... I still have my 91' SAAB 900 Turbo Conv, Black on Black w/ a tan leather interior ... mine has the "SPG" package w/ the "SPG" Almond Wheels and headlight wipers too ... and IS NOT OR EVER WILL BE FOR SALE !!! While I am alive ... !!!!

My condolences for the loss of your beautiful car, I hope you weren't hurt and I hope you can find another nice 900 Turbo Convertible

To this day my favorite car I ever had (1990 900 Turbo Convertible) was built at Valmet in Finland.

Great video & very touching. Saabs are part of the best aging car from any perspective, really appreciate it! Cheers.
Thank you Robin!
Im sorry about your loss
Thank you Jess, I appreciate that.

It'll go that far. I sold my '85 Notchback 900S with 340k+ on it last year and its still going.

You'd have to ask my old man about the hatchet, it was his lol. This classic 900 actually doesn't have the night panel, that came in with your NG 900.
Hi, men & car history. Good video and 900, kind regards from Uruguay.
Thank you very much! I would like to visit Uruguay some day it looks like a beautiful country
@@CarDietrich We have a 99 year 1970 classic SAAB since 1983. There are good natural places here but taking care.
Great passion !
Very nice video. Thank you for sharing. Your father would be proud of you.
Beautiful car. He would have loved this video.
Thank you Theo!
What a fantastic car I had 4 saabs love them all tou ever wanted in a beautiful car
Almost as good ABBA👍🇬🇧
That dual tip exhaust was an optional performance extra equipment
That was a really interesting video, it has everything
Thank you!
Nice car :) the boost is too low for a redbox. My guess is a worn WG actuator.

The center mounted ignition is just better.
Was wondering your height. I'm 6 ft 4 looking to get Saab 900 convertible. Wanted to know how I would fit
I’m 6’5” you’ll fit fine. Swedes are tall
I thought classic 900 convertibles had electrically operated top.
On the Classic 900's they were hydraulic. On the NG 900's and the OG 9-3's it the top was electric. Then on the NG 9-3's they went back to hydraulic
Never sell that car! Omg THAT WAS MY SAME CAR! I had a 92 though.. black on tan 900 turbo 5 speed convertible. Still.. don’t sell that car..
