Im a saddle hunter and I love it. I have spent a damn fortune on saddles and have the most comfortable one I can find. But dont let anyone lie to you, after 4hrs of saddle hunting I am ready to get the hell down! I can sit in my Ol man climber all damn day, take a nap, relax etc.. I am soooo excited to try out the Cold World this year. I have high expectations for it. I think it might be the perfect setup for the way I hunt. I think it's going to be within a pound of my saddle setup.
I completely agree I argued with guys all the time but I am still a die hard climber guy. However, it’s all a tool and in certain situations it is definitely nice to have a saddle😂🤣😂 let me know what you think about that cold world! Please and thank you! Btw thank your for watching!
I went with the Cold World stand with the saddle. If I could re-do it, I'd go with the Retrograde. It's only 1 1/2 pounds more with the cold World but the retrograde would be a little more convenient to transport for sure. XOP knocked it out of the park with the Mondo Saddle and their Cold World and Retrograde hang ons. I know they have others that are great but the light weight factor on the two C.W & Retro is as good as it gets. I like having te ability to switch out from saddle to stand as it makes it so much easier to hunt all day without getting to uncomfortable. Best of both worlds for sure!
:53 in and I placed my order, lol. Exactly what I've been looking for. Rust-Oleum Grip Is a rubber tool grip dip. I brush it on all metal parts that could make noise. Just don't get it into any moving parts.
I got into saddle hunting last fall. I had the original hybrid saddle and this is an upgrade in design from that one. The only thing they fell short on with the mondo is the permanent bridge. There is no way to get both side to lock in and stay. One side does and whatever side you have the biner on just goes where it wants. Thank you for the review sir, always killing the reviews.
When you get tethered in use that linesmans belt as a second tether. Use one for the saddle and the other for the harness. Always attached to the tree that way and the 2nd ropes out of the way
Would you just use a typical tree strap and clip it to the dorsal connection point? Or do you have the lineman belt and bridge/tether attached at the hips simultaneously?
I use this to one-stick climb up the tree then I just hunt from the cold world hang on as any hang on hunter would. Gives me the ability to save weight and also rappel down while still having the comfort of a hang on stand.
been looking at this on XOP's sight, thanks for the review, You pushed me over the edge to try it out, now just to convince the wife to let me buy it lol, thanks man,
Man I was directed to your site from another creator, great video and informative. I’m an older hunter but New to this Saddle game and I’m Definitely gonna give this Mondo a run with their platform but going to get a set of Skelator Sticks just cause of the foot offset. It may be an Optical Illusion but it looks like you might have some more Toe room if you will with them not to mention the attachment system they use. Anyway you got a New Subscriber here man Thanks again and I’ll use your Discount code also
Man thank you for watching! I’m glad I could help! And yes sir that code will save you some money also if I were you I’d do the research on the step stand off of the sticks! Let me know if there’s anything I can do to help ya!
Being new to the game what would your opinion be for a set of sticks to get started. Like everyone else I’m looking at weight, length and of course Bulk getting in and out of the woods. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Joe
if im going to sit in a reg stand, ladder , climber or hanger ill wear my reg harness so im cutting the straps off the mondo. will make it easier all around.
i want to be a saddle hunter cause it would just work for where i live and where i hunt but man i dont even know where to begin lol Its very intimidating with out anyone to actually show you in person. thanks for the vids man.. your channel is new to me but already one of my faves no BS and unbiased reviews 👍
Man thank you! If you don’t mind me asking what state are you in? I know a lot of people I might be able to find one close to you that could show you the ropes!
Do you have any idea when the revolt climber is going to be available? I was waiting on the lone wolf but i cant pay a grand for a climber. Looking forward to your review.
@@CliftonDenneyOnYourOwnOutdoors I’m actually with Cervicide so we have a pretty good code ourself, it’ll definitely be worth what I ended up paying for it!

I dislike how you said every product they made this year is great… that tree is daily straight and you can’t even level the stand. Hope they get some cables out to people.
It’s okay to have different opinions! I have reviewed A LOT of tree stands and climbers as well as saddles I most certainly didn’t say this is the most adjustable stand in the market. However, for the money this is an absolute wonderful stand (in my opinion). I do not work for and nor am I sponsored by any of the companies I do reviews of I just give my personal opinion of each product and try to run through the specs and uses for individuals like yourself to come to a conclusion if they like it or are interested in it or not without a paid biased opinion!
That’s fine… I was just looking at it and saw that the cables were at the bottom and were struggling to level out. For the price I’d say there’s other options in the elevate stand, how ever I don’t like how “flexy” that stand is… but the hush stand I would think is comparable to this with price and it might have better leveling. Leveling is super important when mobile hunting to be able to get in a larger variety of trees. Just my $.02.
