@@justinthealpha6710 yes they will. At least some of them. Roethlisberger didn’t settle in one of the cases for 4 years. He wanted to continue fighting it but after 4 years he was advised to settle to end it after that long. At least some of these women will get paid.

As I already explained, he was fighting to get his name completely cleared for over 4 years and wanted to continue, but he was advised to just pay the settlement instead of sinking more time, money and energy into the situation. It could have taken 5 more years for all we know. Could you imagine a QB has an ongoing civil case over an alleged sexual assault for almost 10 years? It comes down to what’s better - you find out you can’t be in any trouble legally anymore, you proved your innocence. But the woman wants to take it to civil court, who knows how much time and money it will take to fight. 4 years go by and you’re still going at it in court. Do you pay for it all to go away so you can get back to your normal life faster, or do you continue to fight in court even though you can’t be found guilty, to the detriment of your career?

@@AbsentQuack they gave him 25% of their cap which is going rate for a top qb. As the cap expands that number will contract to about 20-18% of the cap. One thing that’s interesting is that no qb has won a Super Bowl while making 20%+ of their teams cap. I believe Brady caps out that number at 18%

No worries all of are key players are all signed for 3-5 years. Also the new NFL collective Bargaining Agreement goes into effect next season which includes a new TV deal. Also there is a new gambling deal that the league has in place that teams will benefit financially from that kicks in in 2 years. Experts predict that the salary cap could be as high as 250 million in 3 years. So no worries!

Apparently according to the athletic, Watson slept on it and when he woke up Friday morning he called his agent and said get a deal done with Cleveland. It was so stunning in a day where leaks come out then when news broke I had to triple check. It will be interesting to see how the civil suits go, I'm not saying he will clear his name but if he does...there will be a ton of folks owing major apologies. I suspect he will get 6 games, down to 4 with appeal since he missed the entire 2021 season. Could be a shocker tho, and NFL could wait to suspend until it plays out and carry the suspension in 2023 season.
i didnt believe the news until the browns on sunday release a confirmation. but imo Browns and Saints made the most sense. as far as roster talent. people think cause OBJ and Jarvis left we dont have WRs, we got young WRs with a great upside. just lack a number one WR. but at the same time i think he'll get a 6 game suspension this year. so i wouldnt shocked if we go after another QB to either compete with Jocoby or possibly play and then trade at dead line.

I really don't have many more thoughts about this trade, that haven't already been brought out. Whether you're for it, or against it, it doesn't matter. But, the one thing that is really slimy about that contract is how the first year is structured. I think that really makes the Browns look even worse. Now, you would expect that from the Haslams, they have a history of questionable business practices, but that the GM and coach were on board, it's just really disappointing.

I don't see what makes Watson an elite quarterback. In his last full season he was 4-12 and had a QBR under 40 4 times. In his career he's 12-13 in games decided by less than a touchdown, in games he's thrown over 300 yards he's 7-13, his last full season QBR was 63.7 (as a note Mayfields was 65.5 in his last season without injury), in Watson's only playoff win he only threw 25 passes with a QBR near 60, his 388 yr playoff loss saw 52 attempts, in his one win he did rush for 55 yrd, but was sacked for 28.
Only in the NFL can you get accused by 22 separate woman of rape and get rewarded with a $230 million contract.
So how do they plan on keeping this team for the years to come. Must want a Super Bowl this year then be content with losing players after that
