I believe that the point is, that even without the technology, they can jam out something lovely like this, and it still works. A good artist uses what they have available to them. So whether that's a Moog sound board, or a laptop, or just a guitar and a voice, then they can do SOMETHING with it, and it comes out wonderful. So I guess what I am saying is... you're both right. Good artists don't need the high-tech stuff, but when they get a hold of it, they turn it into something completely amazing.
