Can't believe I missed this until now! I love Skinamarink and Enys Men! Hearing these guys converse is just wonderful, and it's a mini film school in 40mins as well!
It may be a polarizing film, but Skinamarink reduced me to a little kid. I haven’t felt that afraid to look at a screen since I saw The Human Centipede when I was 12, which was my first ever horror movie.
Skinnamarink is a film that will be loved by the same people that loved the Blair Witch Project. It requires a vivid and wild imagination, deep empathy and an ability to mentally place yourself into a situation that is drastically different than anything you have ever experienced.
Love this conversation as it starts nervy and formal but then the absolute passion of both filmmakers for craft and film shines through and they hit it off like good friends
Mark Jenkin is very talent as director. Love their cinematography in Enys Men. Someday I'll watch The Bait. Also, Kyle did a great job in Heck short horror film. Love his work. Look Spooky as hell. Bravo bravo bravo guys!
fantastic conversation! loved hearing these two talk about the connections between their movies as well as hearing some of their thoughts about the relationship between artist and audience!
“She wanted to watch it from the other room because she felt so claustrophobic.”
“Aw well that’s so nice tell her thank you”
Lol.
