ZYDECO SHUFFLE - SONNY LANDRETH

This was my introduction to the slide guitar of Sonny Landreth - and a very appropriate one it was! When I heard "Zydeco Shuffle" for the first time, it nearly knocked me off my feet, for this was something else altogether. It was the opening track of the 1990 compilation album "(Almost) Everybody Slides".
Quite a few days have passed since then and Sonny Landreth has become a household name in the slide guitar world, which he'd changed forever with his style of playing. What folks like Jeff Beck, Albert Lee or Roy Buchanan mean for their fields, is exactly what Sonny means for slide. You only need to hear this man play the very first note and you know instantly who it is - The "King Of Slydeco". Enjoy!
