Thanks Dr. Taylor, you've inspired me to join a local gym! I already lifted light weights several times a week at home but going to a gym will give me access to so much more equipment like the balls. (I know I could buy one but I don't have a lot space in my apartment and, besides, I feel good about supporting a locally owned business esp. in these times when so many aren't going to survive due to the lockdown...)
so important to remain strong for the mind and body as we age... muscles help protect us... so I am a advocate of resistance training however , I teach pilates reformer classes and this is something anyone especially the elderly and injured should do. xoxo love your videos
This is a great video and its multitasking exercise. Especially as we get older balance is life saving. Thank you for all your videos and educating us 😊
You are GOOD!!! I had to keep telling myself to close my mouth, as my jaw would drop in awe of your exercises. 😂 I have been working with Ed’s ball since last week and already have a sore core...not bad, I am just aware I have one. I have ankle weights but they are bulky and do not feel comfortable. I like the ones you showed. Looking forward to next week! Thank you, Barbie! XO ~Maria
Well, thank you, my dear. I am a severe arthritic. So, if you practice any of these, you'll probably be way better than I am in no time. Most people have poor balance simply because they don't practice balancing like they did when they were kids. I'm still a kid! Well, a 63-year-old kid.
@@MenopauseTaylor I'm a kid too!! With 2 bionic knees from replacements in my 50's. I just turned 64, and I try to move daily. If I don't get to the gym, I try to sweat it out at home!
I'm enjoying my ball and I've gotten better each day. Thanks for bring fun exercise into my day. I'll try the floor before I do the half ball. thanks for the awesome ideas to bring fun into my weight exercises. You are awesome Dr. Taylor!!!!
Great demonstration, thanks Dr Taylor! Flexibility, balance, focus & form - got it (and creativity). I’m so impressed with your balance, while moving so many limbs in different ways, on one foot.
I used to do excercises on the bosu when the gym was open. I need to get one for my home gym. I would love to try some of these and it sure makes it more fun.
Thank you so much. I really value all the free information. You are so inspirational! And oh my gosh you look great. Is it possible you can do a what you eat in a day video? I’m in my 40s and looking at you makes getting older seem not so bad
Devan, I did one video that was a Q&A on me (because my staff made me do it). And in that video, I presented what I eat in a day. Please do yourself a favor: Go all the way back to video 1 and watch them all in order, I promise you will be soooooo glad you did. You will be so thrilled with how easily you learn the material that you'll want to binge-watch. Thank you so much for your lovely compliment. I love giving you this education.
You've got great balance. I need to buy myself a BOSU ball. I use one at the gym, but not able to get out there regularly like before we started working from home. My physical therapist had me use one and have been hooked on them ever since.
Thank you, Denise. As for the sound, all I can tell you is that I am definitely no expert on anything having to do with technology. Please bear with my ineptitudes form time to time.
I workout on my bellicon rebounder; I use weights and bands plus to stabilize yourself on it you have to have balance; great aerobics and low impact; what do you think of the rebounder?
It doesn't matter what anybody else thinks about anything. The only opinion that matters for YOU is YOUR BODY'S. If you want me to tailor everything specifically to YOU, just schedule a consultation with me at MenopauseTaylor.ME. I do them all online.
Hi, what weight wrist and ankle weights would you suggest I should start with? I am 126 pounds wanting to go back down to 112 pounds. 5 foot 3. Many thanks.
Listen to your body. Start with the lightest weights you can find and work your way up according to your comfort zone. Never substitute what you jear from somebody else for what your own body tells you. The keys to success are: 1) Never get injured. 2) Maintain proper form. 3) Enjoy the exercie.
HI Menopause Taylor, thank you for your fantastic education! I've recently been diagnosed with an endometrial polyp. Is it OK to continue HRT with an endometrial polyp? Thank you. Dee
Dee, You really deserve so much more than I can give you in a comment box. Why don't you schedule a consultation with me at MenopauseTaylor.ME so that I can take ALL your factors into consideration and teach you about ALL your options and expectations. There is no quick answer on this.
I did balance exercises in Pilates class. Try balancing on one bare foot on a pilates mat, thicker than a yoga mat, then do the exercises shown in this video on the mat, barefoot.
I always feel like my answer to questions about my toned arms is such a let-down. People expect me to have some secret solution when, in fact, there isn’t one. I do exercise daily, but with baby weights. I have severe arthritis that significantly limits what I can do. Oh, and add to that the fact that my arms are abnormally long … orangutan-long ape arms! My fingertips nearly reach my knees. So, I can’t give myself credit for my arms. But thank you so much for the compliment.
I fear my balance is far too bad. Some of the moves may be how figure skaters learn to do some move. I love the shoes! Want really colorful shoes, but my feet are extra wide and men's runners is what I buy....men don't like pastel colored shoes or Pink
@@MenopauseTaylor Thank you for your response. I would love to see your routine in total. I am currently working with dumbbells and stationary bike. I appreciate your suggestion to focus on balance and fun. I have to push myself to workout because it's not fun. Hopefully I can incorporate your moves into my own fitness regimen. ♡
