I bought this exact bass a few months ago, it's fantastic. It sounds incredible and it's so gorgeous i just have to pick it up every time I look at it! Well done Fender

Been playing since the 1970’s. Did the rock thing and now as an old man just play behind the kids in church. I own and have owned a myriad of bass guitars. Walked in my music shop two weeks ago for a new tuner an the Buttercream Player Precision grabbed me and came home. This is an absolutely rock solid instrument and even plays better than my custom built P-bass that cost three times what I paid for the Player. Well done, Fender! This is a big, big winner.
Everybody loves a P Bass sound, because it just sits in the mix in the key areas that a proper bass should. Thousands of careers have been made on this lovely bass.
You know why this video is so short? Because, there is no better all around bass that the P bass. I’m not a full time bass player (I’m a guitarist), yet I own one and love it. Every gig or session I go on, if the bass player has a “P”, the bass parts always come out great, the engineers are happy. It is the best bass on the planet. Thanks Leo!
Ya. I think thats probably true. The first real high end P-bass I used was one of Flea's Salmon P-basses that we used on a record. Ive still not recovered from how awesome that thing sounded and Ive never seen another bass guitar that compares to it overall.
I have many basses, but nothing can ever replace my Fenders. Timeless classics that always sound perfect in any mix. I only wish Fender would make the 2020 P basses available in candy apple red with a maple fretboard.
I just got one in sunburst. Was shopping for an American but I played this one and it just played super easy, had some heft and to my ear, sounded just like the ideal bass. The only thing I'm switching out is the white pickguard for a gold one and an ashtray cover to stuff some muffling in there if the song calls for it, other than that, I'm good.
You don't see many of the Oly. Whites in stores. My local GC has this Buttercream color, as well as Tourquise with red tort. Pickguard and of course good old Sunburst. I'm trying to decide on one. Btw did the white have a Pau Ferro fingerboard?
Pretty Cool. I got this exact bass, plus a Players P bass in black, one in white, plus a Fender Duff P/J Bass in oyster white, a black Fender Geddy Lee Jazz Bass, a black '83 US P Bass, a white '13 US P Bass plus a '77 US P Bass natural.....about to get a red Fender Vintera P Bass as well. My other basses are a black Gibson Thunderbird, a red Gibson Les Paul Bass, a black Rickenbacker 4003, a black ESP Surveyor with Frank Bello EMG's, an Aria Pro ii SB1000CB, a Jackson Dave Ellefson black. A Ampeg SVT Classic Amp, a Ampeg SVT- 4 Pro, a GK800RB, and a Fender Rumble. I've been slacking here lately and I really need to start getting some more bass gear.
Did he say “even plays well playing metal”?!! That’s an understatement. Steve Harris has always played a Precision and you can’t get more metal than Iron Maiden !! 🤘🤘
Sounds good! I am wanting to get a bass in the next year (gotta save up), and it HAS to be a P Bass! As long as it sounds and feels good, I'll be good. Whats great is I was thinking of getting that amplifier, too! One stop demo shopping! I own a '96 MIM Strat, which has served me well for twenty years, so I am not scared off by this being the modern version of the Standard series. I was looking, and I think the Capri Orange is actually the color I want. Only bummer is that it isn't offered with a Maple fret board.
Just joined a metal band and have been looking for a bass with some “bite” to it. Im a huge fan of Gojiras tone and this sounds bout close while being easy on my wallet

Hey quick question. I play a 4 string elite pbass, and would like to play different kinds of music. If I tune it down from standard tuning to drop d often will it affect the neck?
Short answer, no it shouldn’t affect the neck. Longer answer, I’ve been utilizing drop D tuning for years and have never had issues, but I have never kept a bass in dropped D tuning for longer than a few songs or a rehearsal. I always store my basses in standard tuning.
Has anyone bought this bass and modded it? I was thinking about putting a set of Seymour quarter pounds in it and wanted thoughts?? Also maybe hipshot drop tuner on it..
@@denniskramer9657 kinda too late. Lol. Put the seymour qp in it , changed the white pickguard to a custom and put flats on it. Love the shit outta it now
I played a few of these player P's against my Squier VM P and they all came short in volume, tone and playabillity, I did so because I wanted to spend my money on a "real" Fender, boy, was I dissapointed, only P that came close was a Fender of €1800,- and I didn't find it playing or sounding €1500,- better I'm sorry to say.
It can be, but then guitars should be adjusted to the p bass tone, because p bass has a deep low mid growl, which might fight with the guitars distortion, if not adjusted properly. But if so, then p bass will be a beast with other instruments (check out Youthanasia album from Megadeth, bassist used a p bass there)
Picked one of these up second hand as the owner couldn't stand it so I got rid of the crappy bridge and electronics and those pathetic pick ups and installed a set of Kinman p/ups and a Babicz bridge along with new electrics and replaced the tuners with a set of Hipshot ones that I had, now it sounds like a good bass.

Wow, Elijah Wood playing precision.
I ordered one in that color from a local shop, can't wait to get my hands on it!
The Precision is to bass what the Telecaster is to guitar. A slab of wood with strings that can do fucking anything.
Isn't that the stratocaster though?
Thomas Moore well the strat is less blocky like a piece of wood but I agree
Elijah Wood is pretty skilled on bass... however; nice hair, Frodo...
