DROP A COMMENT: Which Fender bass will you buy NEXT?
    FROM FENDER:
There's nothing more classic than a Fender electric bass, and the Player Precision Bass is as authentic as it gets - genuine Fender style and the rumbling, seismic sound that spawned a thousand imitations. With its smooth playing feel and spotlight-ready style, this thunderous bass is ready to enter the studio or prowl the stage and help show the world your creative vision.
Respecting Fender heritage while maintaining innovative spirit, the fat, punchy Player Series split-coil Precision Bass middle pickup is packed with legendary Fender bass tone, turned up to 11 for modern ears. Master volume and tone controls are close at hand to shape the pickup's powerful voice so you can easily craft your sound. The "Modern C"-shaped maple neck hosts a 9.5"-radius fingerboard with 20 medium-jumbo frets that are ideal for almost any playing style, while the 4-saddle bridge is engineered for accurate intonation and easy action adjustment so you can personalize the feel to your playing style and taste.
Other features include a 3-ply pickguard, synthetic bone nut, vintage-style disc string trees, open-gear tuning machines and a four-bolt "F"-stamped neck plate that marks this instrument as real deal Fender as it gets.
A modern classic with genuine Fender sound, style and feel, the Player Precision Bass is ready to pump out some serious low end.

Major props on having a Bass on the channel. One bass that deserves to be looked at is the PJ.

So glad a bass player is actually showcasing and doing justice for this demo. I hate it when a guitar player demos a bass. They sound ridiculous, sounds like a typical guitar player attempting to play the bass.

I love that he plays with a pick.
Some of us are into punk rock and metal and would like to hear how a bass sounds with a pick and not just funky finger playing (although thats cool too)

I got my Mim P Bass in sunburst a few years ago. It plays great and has not let me down. If you are on a budjet you could probably get a nice used player series for a little more than a new Squire Classic Vibe P Bass.

These basses are excellent. I have a few of them and they rock. Very consistent and punchy sound on stage. Especially for the price point ill continue to buy these mim basses.

This looks and sounds like the ideal type of guitar for me. Chugging power chords in drop-tuning is most fun in the bass range anyway, and the G-string gives just enough range for melody.

I got a 2018 Player one. I kept it all stock until I bought a set of PV63s that were on sale. I wouldn't have changed the pickup if that weren't for sale.
The stock pickup is KILLER. I'm extremely happy that Fender put more resources and time into the MIM line and it shows.

"Fender tends to try to get too fancy when they don't need to." That's precisely why I haven"t bought a new Fender since they discontinued the American Standard line.

I had a '70s P bass with a '70s j neck I got in Japan in 2007, unfortunately the body was so damaged during the years I had to retire it, but the neck and pickup were and are so cool that I couldn't, so I just swapped the body! And the best one to fit the tone and playability I had on my old bass was a simple Player MIM p bass body. I don't see it as cheap or less quality alternative. I had no budget, I just wanted the best to play like my vintage bass could. Infact I bought a bunch of p bodies and A/B tested all of them, new and vintage, expensive and cheap. In the end the Player body was the best one for me.

@@seancrippen2167 Just checked again. It was sold as a 94, but clearly the guy didnt know. Its a 1997 Fender Precision Special, from the California Series. Joint venture between Mexico and US Fender plants. Bodies, necks and parts made in Corona, then painted in Ensenada, and assembled back in the US. This explains the lower price point, but the better balanced and feeling neck.

The neck should be tightened. There has to be no to maximum nearly no movement from the string to the fretboard possible. But the bass looks nice. I think it's a very good deal!

I have a 69 Fender Precision w/Jazz Neck at the time custom color, Ocean Turquoise, block inlay on rosewood neck/bought at the music store I worked for in 1969. 2024 and Fender Custom Shop says "Sorry we won't touch it because you don't have a receipt"; although I do have owners manual with name of "E Paxton", only Custom Shop in Colorado is HB Woodsong, Boulder. I thought Fender had control of their channel. I believe HB Woodsong is telling Fender that no receipt, no work. If they would do this to a Senior, think what they'll do to YOU. Buyer Beware.

The balance and body weight aren't down to the model, it's the individual bass or guitar. The MIM basses are great, but I have a 2010 American Standard that's perfectly balanced.

4:30 ..this thing can't lay on your knee without falling to the neck side! ...I watched so many videos about the Fender P Bass and none ever said, that it does "fall" to the neckside, when it's on your knee. Makes playing a bit $hitty to be honest..
