This is smart move for Fender. Guys dont thumb down just because she isnt well known player or celebrity. Fender took some less known players for "Player" series demo since its more budget guitar to show that everyone can afford it and doesnt need to be famous celebrity or rich human being (I have myself blonde telecaster player and Player) . Fender brings famous players to their highest end guitars to show that they are great and famous people want to play them. Let everyone use this brand

Actually, it's pretty easy to approximate the sound of a p bass (with flats) using a jazz bass. How? Flats (of course) , front pickup on full, back pickup OFF, tone all the way down. A very - albeit slightly more refined - p bassy sound, with more low end.

Is it me or its just a revamp of the old American Standard?
Alex Marenco the Player series is a revamp of the Mexican Standard. They have upgraded pickups in the basses (P, J and Jaguar) in the guitars they have upgraded pickups and 22 frets instead of 21 I believe. The revamped version of the American Standard is the Professional series.

Talking is always turn off... then you have to listen to Bass that's got effects on it, so you have no real idea of how the Instrument sounds... and you have a ton of backing.
Videos like this are meant to help a Company sell a Product, by not real showing how it plays and how it sounds.
So basically what you as a Company have done here, is make a completely unhelpful and annoying Video... way go to and trying make Social Media work for you, by failing to make a good demo of one the most well known, core Instruments of Fender's Range.
It sucks.
