Hey guys, I am a very old Mike, soon 71.... So I know nothing of Telegram, but thanks anyway, pick another winner, and I will continue to enjoy all of your videos as you post them. I love your banter, your teamwork and most of all, your smiles. Keep all those thing relevant and stay together forever.
There's nothing like a mountain creek. The water looked inviting.
Creek looks refreshing!!
Really beautiful, the river
Love your videos, the sawmill shuffle just cracks me up!!!! 🤣🤣🤣
Looks great. The feeling of accomplishment shows and it should. Keep up the good work.
Thank you!
There is a certain sense of enjoyment in watching how a tree becomes timber for your home.
Over here in Ireland, we don't cut trees and mill the timber and it's nice to see how you become closer to your land when you do that.
Too many people throw money at every job instead of looking around and seeing what is available to them.
Liz and Mike are a great couple to follow.
Thanks for sharing
Nice cool water!! After cutting the lumber!!
Great video Mike and Liz
Good work guys.
Found your channel on CNBC about Starlink! Great content! 😊
Awesome Ponderosa Pine shiplap wood. Ya can't get any cheaper than free. That swim in the creek looked so refreshing and cool. I am from coastal North Carolina, and we would gladly be happy with 90 degrees in July and August, it would feel like a cold spell. LOL.
You are doing a good job with that excavator. The key isto work at safe speed for you.
Well that little harbor freight saw was a damn good investment! Those were some nice boards you milled…getting it done you two..loving it.
I love watching y'all mill them logs. You should do two or three in one video so you can get more ads in. Y'all are the beasts on the mill
A good job you guys always do a good job you’re hard workers and I enjoy watching and I will keep watching god bless
That ponderosa is some beautiful wood. Looking forward to seeing the transformation of the house.
That log is a beast!
Enjoyed Video , like to watch milling , know the creek had to feel Good , Thank y'all 🎵😊💖
These two work so well togather what a team 👏
Nice work! Crazy cat tho :D
Those slabs would make a great raised bed for your garden!
Pan some of the gravel in that creek for a nice surprise.
Enjoy the videos! Just keep up the hard work. It pays off so well. Thanks for sharing your lives with us.
Great video guys, i was surprised that you got that many boards out of that log to, nice. Man that water looked so refreshing and cold, the dogs were loving it to.
Nice creek for a dip.
When do you think you will be taking a vacation. Love to see you at the water soon!
Thanks for your videos,
Jeff
Nice job
Awesome milling..
Congrats Guy's on getting some Boards cut. lv the view and the water.
very diligent...
I think I've got this heat thing, when Mike takes off his shirt Liz should also, the temperature goes down, the subscriber count goes up. Its a double win all the way around ! :)
I live in SE Tn. where the humidity is usually 2/3rds of the temperature and this summer has been hot. The struggle is real. lol
Great video and editing.
Nice job. Always nice to take a dip in the creek at the end of a hard work day. Keep em comin
Wow, that's great that you purchased land so close to a creek to take a dip and cool off.
Well done yes the heat has been bad here 100-106 and next 10 days same everything is burning up. keep up the great work
Pretty cool, nice weather and all the needs from your area...🤗💫
well done
We are in a extreme heatwave in Uk, we are in amber warnings for the heat until next week Tuesday, I’m glad I have fans in my home , stay safe xxx
nice creek!
Great job running the mill Mike and Liz
Nice video! Looks like a nice trout stream too!
Love your videos, Liz, your smile could melt an ice burg. Also liked your fancy footwork in the milling scene. lol
It’s nice that you have the mill so you can make your own lumber.
good job
Great partnership. Fun watching your progress. You've had quite a few "victories" since the snow melt. Congrats!!
Great job you guy's, getting a good return on your investment there.
I just subbed. Glad I did. True homesteading content! My bro-in-law is from Idaho, Snake River Valley tho. Such a beautiful state! If I could be young again I'd do just what you guys are doing.
Keep it real....and I'll keep watching. Thanks!
Awesome, when is the sawmill shed coming, can't wait for that.
You guys are are awesome ! I enjoy watching you work together.
You guys are my Favs. I'm a Mike also so that's a thing, Liz is the Bomb though. She is very much a strong partner in the Pair. You guys Rock.
Loved the milling video? Keep 'm coming!
And... everyone should have an excavator, how cool is this and so useful, probably the best purchase you guys made so far.
Looks like some awesome lumber you got out of that tree, great video guys! ✌🏼❤️🙏🏼
Congratulations in 50k subs!
I can’t either ! summer heat suck!!
I envy your youth, your teamwork and lifestyle. The 690 Deere is an unfair advantage.
The creek looks so nice.
Wow another great video from you all and I know it is hard work but you both are doing a great job.
Kinda grinds my gears that a girl can jump into a cold cold creek and go swimming, I go in for a brief few seconds and am almost in tears as its so cold. My arms and legs get knots in them. I have done the ice diving for gold in Nome but I had gear for it... that cold creek is my Achilles heel. Nice stuff coming off of the mill.... just need those extensions made for it so the twelve an even sixteen foot boards can be found on the pile as well.
14 boards is a lot! Lots of dollars still in your pocket!
Nice creek!
small tip if you replace the metal wood dogs for wooden beams you can often saw one or two extra planks out of a tree trunk you then just saw through your supports
I love when ya'll mill them big uns! That sawmill doesn't miss a beat, and the lumber looks fresh! The excavator would take a minute to turn the logs, plus, the increased risk of smashing the mill..lol Love ya'll ❤️
Your creek looks so inviting! In the 100’s here in Homedale Idaho! Does the creek have fish in it?
Always good to see your progress.
You both work great together 👍 and stay safe.
I think it's time to extend that sawmill as you obviously planned to do at some point in the past... I'm sure you'll find a use for boards/lumber longer than 9 foot 2 inches.... Love to watch your progress and admire your drive.
Soon! Thanks for watching!
You're better of making your own extensions! The wait for them is long!
A lovely task to do - wonderful that hope that goes with it and you get to realise the dream of eventually using them in your home. Beginning to end processes must be so satisfying. Keep going - lovely videos to watch.
I’d love to have them logs on my property !! I could build a beautiful log home out of them babies. I sure love your RUclips channel. Great content and interesting videos. Thanks for sharing your knowledge !!
Mike, have you and Liz thought about using some of that saw dust for your gardening soil, there are a lot of nutrients in it. Maybe mix some worm castings and fish emulsion with it as well. I recommend you make furrows for planting your rows. Also, have ether of you thought about pouring a slab for your mill, and maybe getting an extension so you can cut longer boards. Great video, that water sure looked refreshing.
I don’t know what you paid for that sawmill but I do know if you had to buy all the wood that you are sawing on it, I it would be many thousands of dollars, at least in my area !! Another great video !! Stay safe and be careful and God bless you 🙏🙏 !! Oh yeah and that swim in the creek looks so refreshing and I bet it was cold, which would be perfect in this hot weather for me !!
Looking good y’all. I find pulling the big logs from the other side with the cant hook works a little easier than pushing them. Also, if you put a 24” ish piece of 2” pvc pipe over your log stops, it helps the log not get caught on them, makes it easier to turn your logs and not get busted up while making your cant. Look forward to seeing the shiplap!
Another reason for not using your excavator to turn the logs is the damage it would do to them once on the mill getting trimmed. Hydraulics could work, but I'm not sure on your setup. And a nice creek to take a dip in after work on a hot day! How lucky can you get?
I was wondering what happened to those trees you cut down a few weeks ago. The boards are so nice. Is that creek across the street from your property? How cold was the water? Maybe put a wheel or screw there to make some power -- LOL. Thanks for sharing.
You are two hard working people! Mike you remind me of me when I was young. Cut my teeth on a 1970 JD 690A, and a 410 rubber tire. That D model will last you for ever. Lizzy, I can see in Mikes eyes, you complete his life, true love. Lizzy, The way you hang on his every word, shows your true devotion to him. Please keep doing the vids! By the way, I guessed 11.
That sawmill is worth its weight in gold. Great looking lumber. Boy if that creek is close by could you ever build a great little power plant.
Hang a plastic 5gal bucket where the sawdust comes out, every once in awhile empty it in one place.
The sawdust comes out the entire length of the log as the blade goes from one end to the other.
Nice video. Have you considered making your creak dip spot deeper? That excavator would make quick work of it.
It's got to feel so satisfying to transform the logs into your home. How long does it take to cut down a log that size in real time?
Are there fish in that creek? And don't feel bad,it's hot here too.115 today.
Here in Arizona it is a 111゚ 7゚ today and Monday it was a 115 and in and my AC went out how about that
👍👍👍😁
You guys sure work hard. Wish you would wear hard hats around your heavy equipment. Don't want anyone to get hurt.
How do you prevent the boards from cupping or twisting.
I have watched you saw logs repeatedly on the mill and I am wondering why you make your 1st cut, then you rotate the log 90° and make you 2nd cut. It is a struggle to position for cut #2 because you are squaring up cut 1 so cut 2 is square with it.
IF you make cut #1, THEN rotate 180° cut #2 is automatically square with cut #1 in 1/2 the time it took to rotate 90°and get cut#2 square with cut #1.
PLUS it gives you 2 edges that are square with each other and when you rotate 90° for cut #3, you have the 2 square sides to use to square cut #3 with the 1st 2 cuts, by making sure they are square with the upright brace on your mill and it makes it way easier to square up cut #3.
Surely Mike can weld so why not just get the steelwork and make the saw upto 20 foot logs, you can do it. You need to get it an extension so you can cut decent lengths of boarding.
😎 📹
How often do have to change the saw blade, and can you resharpen the used ones?
Hi, just wondering if the mill tracks can be extended to be able to mill longer logs ? Just a thought
hows your mud house coming
Very good , must be brilliant cutting your own wood as it's got very expensive , looks very hot good way of cooling off! good vid as usual 🙂
Hope you guys are going to get on with the retaining wall down the side of the barn before long as the summer will be over as its the more or less the middle of July already and the wet season will be upon you again 🤔
I wonder why you dont extend your rail line so you can cut longer lengths of lumber for more use?
Do you recommend that HF bandsaw mill? I have a chainsaw mill and it takes 1\4 inch out for each cut
Would recommend, it’s worked out great for us!
👍❤🤗
you do realize you could wrap a tow strap around the log on the mill and just pull the strap with the excavator to turn the log without lifting it.
What is the water temperature in the stream?
Y’all put sawdust in a garden?
I like that hat the girl
Any fish in that creek?
you know you could take that excavator and make a real swimming hole in that creek
Y'all ned to take the excavator down to the creek there and dig yourself out a swimming hole. Yes sir!
