Thanks 😊🙏 I’ve also realised that they are supposed to smell pleasant, like apples. I presume mine is still stressed from transitioning to my environment.
🤗🤗Gorgeous orchids! I love the terracotta planter. I have the Paphiopedilum concolor, it’s a seedling size so probably years off flowering. A cheesy scent to look forward to😂. I have never heard of your bare root dusky pink flowered orchid…need to look that up, interesting the way it grows on those chubby canes. Have a wonderful day.🌼
Thanks Isa 😊🙏 the concolor is an epic orchid. I know the smell is weird, maybe it’s something to do with the stress as it’s new in my collection. The orchid is supposed to be fragrant and smell like apples 🍏 🤷♂️
I have a few first time blooming paphs in bud! After 3 years... im excited to see what they look like in real life. The concolor looks like a chocolate mint that I think is going to bloom. Too soon to call, but its doung something I have not seen before 🙃 gorgeous selection you have in bloom 🤩
Oooh the mint chocolate looks great! I have one of its parents the malipoense. Really excited for you🤞🏻. The concolor is supposed to smell like apples, so I’m thinking stress from being new in the collection lol.
Wonderful blooms! My favourite are the slippers. Those 2 species would look good on my shelves. 😍 Live the rest too but mounted orchids don’t do well for me. I don’t think I’ve seen that purple rose scented oncidium type in Canada. Quite. Nice. I like the clay planter very unique. Great video, and happy growing.
Thanks MaryG 😊🙏 I’m growing them in a mix of coconut chunks, perlite and a little bit of sphagnum moss. The concolor is still in the mix from the nursery. What mix do you use? I struggle to water enough with work etc. which is why I use the coconut chunks. It stays moist without being soggy.
@@OrchidsFynbos I have my big paph benefit in straight New Zealand bark, I got two other paths in semihydro set up with leca and pumice and one other in mixture of bark and sphagnum . They all doing well which shows as long as they get water and nutrient as much as they need, they don't mind the media. I am trying different methods and media but if I see an orchid is happy in a particular media or set up, I won't change that. Hope this helps. Have a great week ahead and happy growing 😀!
The pink controversy is such a pretty orchid!!!!
Thank You 😊🙏 I really like it too
The paphiopedilum concolor is just what I like in paphiopedilum. ♡

@@OrchidsFynbos hope you'll get the scent soon!

I really appreciated your video, I am still just a beginner after about 12 months and I have lots to learn. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Andre 😊🙏 the learning comes quickly. It’s a really exciting hobby!

Thanks 😊🙏 I’m sure they would look wonderful on your shelves too! I’ve also struggled with the mounted ones but I find that some are more hardy.
Great blooms update! Love those oncidiums both the purple one and the bobcat. I like both paphs too, are you growing them in bark?
