MISA!!! MISA!!! MISA!!! 🥃🥃🥃Band-Maid has always been about equal input and support for each other. Something very rare in the music industry. You need to check out Don't Be Long from 2019. You are dangerous close to becoming a Band-Maidiac or Maidiac like us 😉🤙🏼
Band-Maid always brings an ONSET of love, appreciation and happiness to their viewers. Why? Because they're so damn good -- good-natured, good-hearted, good-looking, and beyond good as writers, players and performers. Wow, right?! Thx, Wally!
This bassist is killer. Wait! This drummer is insane. Wait! This guitarist is out of this world. Wait. This rythm guitar can follow them and sing so well too ? Wait! This singer is awesome! Wait. This bassist is killer. The basic Band Maid spiral. Choose a starting point.
At the end of MISA's solo the camera catches her pick flick technique. Watch as she goes from picking to slapping by catching the pick between her first two fingers. That's how she goes back an forth without missing a beat and it's so badass.
The lead guitar is "Kanami" and the rhythm guitar is "Miku". Miku is the band's founder, lyricist and frontwoman. So without her, this band wouldn't exist. And Kanami is a composer, arranger and producer, and as you know, her is a very important person who controls excellent drummers, bassists, and even vocals. In other words, it is no exaggeration to say that Band-Maid is a Kanami band. Therefore, since her give priority to each member and the composition in which the song shines, her will not appeal to ourselves more than necessary. That is often reflected in the desire to hear more of Kanami's guitar solos. However, if you don't listen carefully, there are many songs that make you feel as if you were playing a guitar solo from start to finish. I hope you will listen to their many songs. Also, if you like instrumental music, there are "Without Holding Back" and "Don't Be Long", but they have been deleted on RUclips, so you may find them on another site by searching.
This song is more popularly known to Maidiacs as "Saiki's Pee Break" because that was supposedly why they played "Onset" during gigs, to give their lead vocalist a slight break and rest her voice.
If you haven't done Freedom yet you should if you want to hear a drum solo from Akane. Also, there's another instrumental called WITHOUT HOLDING BACK (if you can find something other than a fancam) that will definitely impress you too.
Seriously, if you like Kanami's tapping then you will love "Blooming". There is a long tapping solo late in the song and a shorter tapping segment earlier. The long one is a feast of Kanami tapping. And the song is great for its drumming and vocals. Listen hard and you will hear Misa's bass too. Kanami told everyone to create something and give it to her, and then she blended all their ideas into one great song.
I believe I read in an interview some time ago one of the members stated that the reason they keep the solos, generally, short is determining what the individual song requires and to keep the audience coming back for more. You know, it works. Personally, I can't get enough and will sometimes play a song over several times just to bask in the music.
Play was also an instrumental originally but Saiki thought it was such a blast that she asked Miku to write lyrics for it, does anyone say no to Saiki - I think not.
Kanami's voice is her guitar, though she actually has an incredible voice too, even if its rarely heard fully. And, of course, she writes the scores for Band-Maid's songs. Basically, she's a Rock Goddess. Who plays with 4 other Rock Goddesses. And together they unleash the Rock!
I am in love with her speaking voice as well. She reminds me of My daughter when she was about 5. I love her savant like talent. Kanami is my favorite 5 year old 31 year old guitarist.
@@tonygriffin_ that is where I totally fell in love her. From the first time she said "hai" she melted my heart. Then she started playing with Miku's clothing. I thought Miku was going to have to give her a toy or piece of candy so she would sit still. When Herman brought his dog out and see her get close to the camera to talk to him, well, she was the most kawaii being on our planet. Miku is all kinds of adorable, but I think that she cultivated some of her persona in her maid cafe days. If there is such a thing as a Kana-maidiac, I am one.
If you haven't seen the entire Herman Li interview and audition with Miku and Kanami, you need to check it out on Twitch. It is roughly 90 minutes. Herman Li did a fantastic job interviewing these lovely ladies and seem to really asked great questions from the live chat as well as questions that He asked. It is the best interview of any Band Maid members.
So you like instrumental music? Well, there's a young, criminally-underexposed Japanese power trio that does nothing but instrumental rock and metal. They're called Asterism. I highly recommend them and their mind-blowing talent, and the song I'm going to recommend starting off with is called "Gunfire." Here's a link. ruclips.net/video/n6OZRHApn3U/видео.html
One of the best reactions to Onset, from a listener who really gets it upon first listen. You will come to enjoy it even more as your hear it again and again. Not a jam session, the piece is a testament to Kanamincho’s composing talent. Play (especially live is great). The other fully instrumental song is Without Holding Back. If you like “anime songs,” try Different, No God, and Black Hole.
If you watch Misa closely during her solo, toward the end of it, she switched from pick to slapping seamlessly tucking her pick into her palm holding it there with the index finger or middle (not sure which). I don’t know of any other bassist that does that! Awesome playing!
This was the song that made me finally fall deep down the pigeon hole and I never got out again. For more instrumental greatness, why not try the, also, japanese band ASTERISM, with their song "Dawn" ruclips.net/video/buQPvINJcA0/видео.html Or their songs "Then&now" and "church" from their YT page.
About Asterism, thanks for the link, BTW. Very cool, awesome performance. They remind me of a band I followed from Richmond, Va. in the 80's and 90's called The Alter Natives. A trio just like Asterism (except all guys) and all instrumentals. A bit more punk. Spent a lot of pit time at their shows, usually opening for Gwar.
This song clearly establishes what these five girls are capable of musically perform on a stage. True genius musicians. They currently have five purely instrumental songs of which they have released three: Onset, Don't Be Long and Withhout Holding Back. However, many of their full songs have instrumental releases.
A full instrumental CD of the songs from Unseen World comes with the Unseen World score book. Book has some great photos, plus interviews with all 5 members as well as the 'staff' they work with, in addition to a full 'score' of the album. Although I play guitar just slightly better than Miku when Thrill came out I probably won't use the score part of the book, but the CD and interviews/pics alone for me justify what I paid for my copy.
To burst out laughing like a maidiac is also my reaction during Band-Maid songs. Usually with tears of joy. It still happens every single time. I wish I could say I was exaggerating even a little. You made me feel better about it though! Now that I think about it, these may be some of the early symptoms of addiction...
Not only did they all have solos but they were written right into the song.. They were not a destruction from the piece but an integral part of it. The song writing and arrangement talents in this group is phenomenal.
You did get the drummer's name right, Akane. Here are the names of the band members. Kanami(Mincho) - Lead Guitar, Misa(The Assassin) - Bass, Miku(Little Pigeon) - Rhythm Guitar and Creator of Band-Maid, Akane - Drummer Extraordinaire, and Saiki - Lead Singer. I really loved your reaction because you were so ready for this. They are just awesome!
Since you love the bass guitar, You should check out "No God" (Live), MISA has about 30-40 second bass solo and the song strongly features the bass throughout the song. Have a great day!
Hey man great reaction, Play isn't exactly an instrumental anymore, it used to be but Saiki liked it so much she asked Miku to put lyrics to it. If you check out the official version of Play afterwards check out the Live Take Me Higher into Play version on the Tiago RUclips channel, it's Sick. I would recommend it first but it's not official so you run certain risks, you know the deal but worth checking out if you truly dig The Maids. Also there is another instrumental Without Holding Back that was only special released from the special edition Unseen World Album, on the Intro to classic rock RUclips channel, (also not official) that he plays through uninterrupted as well as the instrumental version of Giovanni. So maybe a reaction to a reaction vid or perhaps one of the other Maidiacs here can provide help with finding those.
Awesome song from Band-Maid! In my top 10 for sure. Like a few others have recommended, if you want amazing instrumentals check out Asterism! My current favorite is "Church" but all their stuff is amazing. If I'm not mistaken, I think Buckethead worked with Asterism on their first full album

ONESET is a live performance to rest Saiki who had a problem with her throat. It's very popular, but it's not on the album. They enjoy playing, so there are a few other great instrumental songs. Saiki has had a successful throat polyp removal surgery and has since improved her singing ability.

ONESET is a live performance to rest Saiki who had a problem with her throat. It's very popular, but it's not on the album. They enjoy playing, so there are a few other great instrumental songs. Saiki has had a successful throat polyp removal surgery and has since improved her singing ability.
Didn't they put Onset in a CD single?
MISA !!! MISA !!! MISA !!! the Barefoot Bass Assassin .
I just left you a comment on your other video to listen to this I'm glad you listening to it make me feel good so quick it wasn't 5 minutes ago I left you a message
Grate reaction! Rick Beato asks if rock dead??? Hell NO!!! With bands like Band-Maid and BABYMETAL it will never die! Please check out "Brand New Road","No God" or/and "ORDER ".
You can't really "download" this one. I ended up ripping an MP3 from bluRay.
Don't listen to LOVEBITES while you're driving especially if you got a hot rod pickup
Kanami said in an Interview that her tapping technique was inspired by Eddie Van Halen
Tapping was invented on a standard guitar years ago like in the 40s or something there's a black and white film on it
Use the left, and right, arrow keys to move back, and forward, in 10 second intervals.
So there i was writhing about on the floor having an epliptic fit & then i realised it wasn't the green lasers, it was the awesomness of BAND-MAID that stunned me :)
So a normal day then Gary.🤪
