      I'm sorry, I don't follow Iheanacho at all just a bit when he emerged as a young star and then featured at Man City. But I must say he comes across as wanting to prove too much. We're glad he scored the winning goal, but even the Captain who scored two goals said its not about personal accomplishments. When Kelechi scored the goal e comot shirt dey run meanwhile others went to hug the young goalie who really exemplifies what this team is truly about. Osimhen is the best in Africa football, and has only one goal and has been very happy (even allowing others to take free kicks). i don't know but I wonder if this is why Kelechi has not featured more. Anyway, I no wan spoil our jolly and he's a fantastic player and young man so I hope I"m wrong.

    Regardless of their penalty, the substitutions did came handy. They definitely need Yusuf in their defensive midfield role due to his skills set against the Ivorians. Overall the whole team played with resilience.

    I have lots of respect for South Africa.
    There must be a winner.
    I don't know why South Africa had to pick their players majorly from Mamelodi Sundowns?
    You need to encourage your players to play outside S.A, for experience.
    I believe playing 2 extra time games, back to back is too much for any team.
    However South African players must be proud of themselves.
    Lots of love, from a Nigerian living in London.

      I hope you know Nigeria won by penalties which is 50-50. Also Nwabali plays for Chippa in SA. Memalodi SD is an excellent club. SA league is the best in Africa. Last Afcon they had the highest reps across all countries.
      From the way they played it shows why the coach had to choose them. SUNDOWN aka BRAZILIANS

    • @Damian-rt3rt
      @Damian-rt3rt 9 месяцев назад +3

      @@onuegbuemmanuel5176They denied Nigeria a clear goal scoring opportunity in the dying minutes of extra time (hence the red card). Lookman had an opportunity to round the goal keeper. SA had possession, but Nigeria played a more mature and purposeful game. Naija had more superior chances.

    • @stanleyokonkwo2524
      @stanleyokonkwo2524 9 месяцев назад +5

      @@Damian-rt3rtI don't understand this argument? Which of these scenarios isn't part of the game? Didn't Ekong hold on to the shirt of a player? Didn't Nwabali save a free kick that a SA player (No. 20) blazed over the bar? Didn't their No. 9 trick Ekong and shot at Nwabali who saved? You may have to rewatch the match to think that we were that superior. The Goalkeepers (particularly Nwabali) were the best players not just due to penalties. And we didn't score from open play either, just like them. Abeg, let's not downplay the high technicality and cohesion shown by the SAs.

      @@stanleyokonkwo2524they have 9 players from the same team. Of course they have cohesion and a great team spirit. They played very well. No one is arguing with that. So did we. And when it came down to penalties, why didn't their keeper save 4 like he did last time? Because the mentality and quality of Nigerians is different. Please put some respect on that performance and be proud.

      I wonder how country as large as Nigeria with over 5,000 professional footballers just have only one creative midfielder in the person of alex iwobi that plays for the national team.But we have bunch of defensive midfielders.Nigeria has never experienced this drought in creative midfield before.Now that iwobi is underperforming,its affecting us so bad.

    • @animalfunfacts247
      @animalfunfacts247 9 месяцев назад

      @emmersonadi3067 The qualities of an ideal creative midfielder is the ability to distribute passes, skillful, create chances for strikers to score. He should be able to see opportunities no others don't see. He dictate the tempo of play. They are geniuses on the ball. Okocha, Mike Obi,(when he plays in that position)Zidane, Ronaldinho, mesut Ozil, iniesta and the great Messi, these are some of the players that perfectly embodied what a creative midfielder is. They are rare. Iwobi may not have all those qualities, he may not have the strength to hold on to the ball, but I watch him week in week out play for him club and several times for Nigeria, and I can tell you for a fact, when it comes creating chances, Iwobi is a genius. That's what has kept him relevant despite his frailties.
