We are getting this after looking and test-driving other popular 7 seater of the same price point atm and even the coolray. Thank you for this review. The CNCAP 5-star safety rating, a Mazda/BMW designer, a land rover interior and tech, and the 10-year and 5-year engine and bumper to bumper warranty respectively are more than enough for us. And for the price, youre getting more than any other "popular" company can offer atm. way way more. Excited to get the unit next week. We are from DAVAO btw.

I love the watch...this is so awesome! Agree that the Azkarra's interior looks and feels better. But the price point, amenities and it being a 7-seater, may tip the scale for some folks. The advantage that Geely has is that it has Volvo, Link and Co., Lotus and a few other famous car brands that they bought (not sure if they bought the entire shares or how much shares they bought from each...but they definitely take advantage of Volvo Technology). Good job to the Chinese car brands...this is good for us since the other car brands will have to compete and give more features. Most of what we get are so stripped down (like what you mentioned about Isuzu MUX). Great job on the review! Keep up the great work! PS Reliability and parts na lang ang tanong! I think there's a lot of folks waiting on how well this and Geely will perform in the long run. :)
More competition is good for the consumer. I say let them come. Let the chinese bombard our market with cheap but feature packed cars. Maybe the Japanese, Koreans, Americans, and Europeans will finally start actually competing instead of shafting us with overpriced basic cars.
Regarding reliability and parts, if they have people here that know how to work on these cars and the service isn't bad, then I'd have some peace of mind. Also that warranty is incredible.
Compared to Azkarra...I preferred the Azkarra... But this is a killer against Innova, Rush, Avanza, Expander, Brio and the likes that are also 7-seater. What I am waiting for from Chery is their 2021 Exeed LX.

Chinese cars are definitely taking front and center however I think they need a few more years to see the reliability and support that they have. The last time Chery was here they left a bad taste in the mouth of Filipino consumers when only after a few years in the country they disappeared. You dont see a lot of CHerys after that, which should give you some indication of the quality of those cars way back. I hope they (Geely and Chery) succeeds though as more competition is always better for the consumer.
I work in manufacturing ATV devices for chinese cars. I can say they are very strict on the quality even for non-safety related circuits. The only thing that I am not sure is the engine and the body/parts construction's longevity. For the electronics, there is nothing to worry about it. But these Tiggos are given 1mKm for 10yrs so I think its a winwin for us. I'm just waiting for this stupid virus to go and observe the economy if will pursue getting Tiggo8 or Azkarra.

It depends on your needs. The tiggo 8 is a 7 seater. It's also priced a lot lower, the top of the line Azkarra has a nicer interior and has more features but it's also more expensive by more than 200k

It depends on your needs. This is a much bigger vehicle that can accomodate more people. If you need a large 7 seater crossover, go for the Tiggo 8, if you need a smaller, sportier crossover, go for the Coolray
Nice review. I live in China and see more and more of these and other Chinese brands on the streets. One point of difference between the Tiggo 8 and the Azkarra that you did not mention.... I think the Azkarra higher trims have AWD, but apparently the Tiggo 8 is only FWD?

I would be curious how the AWD does off road, and the ground clearance of these different SUV / CUV. I'm not sure about this because unlike Geely, it's engine is Volvo. Unlike, MG it's a British brand. This Chery 8 only looks good but not better than Geely, MG, and JAC. Btw, the Japanese brands left the universe 🤣
This may have been true 10 or 15 years ago. These days the quality of Chinese products has improved , these are very nice and durable cars. Geely in particular now owns Volvo, and there is some sharing of Volvo technology, engine and platforms.

The 2nd row passengers get their own aircon vents. No aircon vents for the 3rd row pero abot naman yung hangin from the 2nd row
