Basically, it boils down to the conservative mindset about the definitions of "sexualization" and "critical race theory".
Sexualization: Any media which includes any non-straight cisgender persons. So if the prince kisses sleeping beauty to wake her up, that's not sexual at all. But if the prince's best friend Jack, who's also gay, shows up to give him a thumbs up and say "good job" it's now tantamount to pornography.
Critical Race Theory: Any media which teaches that slavery happened/was bad, jim crow happened/was bad, school desegration happened/was bad, etc. The moment you say something bad happened to someone black and any point in time in the US, that's CRT. Again, according to conservatives.

I think this ultimately shows that the current Republican Party is catering to a base of people who are given a specific idea of what's happening in the world around them, yet once these people are given an opportunity to go _hands-on_ with the systems and ideas that they're told to fear and hate, they get a perspective that goes outside the propaganda. In other words, the GOP is creating a voting bloc that simply _doesn't know better._

Social emotional learning has been banned in my state. There, it was predominately used with disabled students such as the blind and visually impaired ones I worked with. Blind kids can't see other people's facial expressions and are often isolated when they're very young. Learning to read and understand what other people are feeling is crucial for them to be able to live independently as adults. If you can't discern through the tones of people's voices that they're getting upset with you it is very hard to make friends or interact oroperly in the workplace. Cutting off that pathway for them to learn about how to navigate their world has created additional barriers for the students.

“Censorship and the suppression of reading materials are rarely about family values and almost always about control; About who is
snapping the whip, who is saying no, and who is saying go. Censorship's bottom line is this: if the novel Christine offends me, I don't want just to make sure it's kept from my kid; I want to make sure it's kept from your kid, as well, and all the kids. This bit of intellectual arrogance, undemocratic and as old as time, is best expressed this way: "If it's bad for me and my family, it's bad for everyone's family."
Yet when books are run out of school classrooms and even out of school libraries as a result of this idea, I'm never much disturbed not as a citizen, not as a writer, not even as a schoolteacher . . . which I used to be. What I tell kids is, Don't get mad, get even. Don't spend time waving signs or carrying petitions around the neighborhood. Instead, run, don't walk, to the nearest nonschool library or to the local bookstore and get whatever it was that they banned. Read whatever they're trying to keep out of your eyes and your brain, because that's exactly what you need to know.”

He was born and raised as a zealous evangelical. It occurred to him back then, that God being God, not only would the existence of God would manifest in ways that could be observed and proven without having to fall back to “But the Bible says so.’
So, purely to prove us atheists wrong, and knowing that we would never accept the Bible it self as proof, he embarked on a mission to prove the existence of God using only the evidence and logic of secular people. And after a little while, he’d proven to himself that God doesn’t exist (or that Gods existence cannot be proven).
He had to walk away from his devout friends, devout family… everything. Luckily his wife was walking a similar path, and now she has her own channel dedicated to specifically debunk a lot of the amazingly bad Christian reasons behind much of the normalized toxic stuff the push.
In my opinion, the only people who could convert Christian’s, using only the Bible, must be a former believer. I was raised atheist, and if my interlocutor will investigate further on his/ come around.
