Watched Bad Boys 1 and 2 in a high chair because my parents did NOT censor what was on around me. Needless to say it helped developed my love of action movies. This sequel was a blast in my opinion! Love how the characters age with the films as they go along and it feels authentic.
You absolutely will make it to 30k , easily. This review was tasteful & articulate in the most honest/respectful way. I can tell you have a genuine love for the BadBoys brand. Love me some Will & Marty Mar 💁🏾♀️

Not gonna lie, I had a wicked time with this movie. While it's not as insane, action-wise, as "Bad Boys II" (due to a smaller budget), I think it's definitely up there with how inventive the action scenes are with drone shots, sequence transitions, first person, and gun-tossing. The story is hella stupid (as with the other movies), but for whatever reason, I actually found myself more engaged/invested in the Mike/Marcus dynamic this time around. I think this movie did a better job acknowledging the guys getting older and dealing with new issues that come with age and experience, than they did with the previous movie (which I liked, btw). At least there's more of a throughline here, whereas in the previous movie, it kinda just dovetails without any solid resolution other than the fact that they have to go fight the bad guy. At least by the time THIS movie's climax hits, both Mike & Marcus' internal arcs come to a head and are dealt with. Are they dealt with in a satisfying manner? That's up to personal preference lol, but I personally thought they came to a head just fine in terms of what these movies are. I do feel some of Martin's comedy didn't 100% land, but I actually appreciate that he was in on the action A LOT more with this entry, rather than just playing second fiddle and letting Will have all the fun. It felt like a true co-lead operation with Martin & Will sharing the load of carrying the movie, whereas with Part 1 it feels like it's Martin's movie with Will tagging along, and with Part 3 it's Will's movie with Martin tagging along. While I do wish the supporting cast got fleshed out more, I actually did appreciate that they all had a moment to shine. Maybe it's asking too much for people to remember the "lore" of "Bad Boys", but I did like the numerous callbacks to story and motif elements of the previous 3 movies. Is it a "good" movie? No. Fuck, if i'm being real, NONE of these movies are. But all of them are super fun and entertaining at the most basic level, and that's what I've always wanted out of these. Maybe I'm not demanding enough, but this was honestly a great time at the theatres for me. The chemistry between Martin & Will is as great and endearing as ever. Some people might complain that it's a bit too stylized, but honestly, that's another thing that made me like it so much. Shout out to the directors Adil & Billal. They really stepped up the action, and got real inventive with it. If they're in the running for the next Spidey movie in the MCU, I definitely would like to see how they handle action sequences with that character, because they really got to push some boundaries and have fun with "Bad Boys: Ride or Die." Oh yes, and Reggie is indeed the Real MVP. Amazing how far that character has come lol. If I were to rank the movies, favorite to "least favorite" (I love all these movies), I go: 1.) Bad Boys Ride or Die. 2.) Bad Boys II. 3.) Bad Boys For Life. 4.) Bad Boys.
This Batgirl movie kinda sounded like a sh*t show, but the more I learned about it the more I'm curious to see it. At first the only interesting thing to me was Brendan Fraser's return, but he has been in bad movies before. That said, learning the duo were the directors and Scipio was in it changes everything. Now it sounds like a movie that could've been at least solid if not good, but the studio and execs couldn't take their hands off it and butchered it. Then tried and hid their mess. Such a shame. Cheers from France! 🍻
Totally looking forward to seeing this tomorrow! (And the song Will Smith has on the soundtrack btw) Also, I love your movie takes, Coy and all the perspectives you bring to the table! I’m a fan!
I've been a fan of Bad Boys since I was a kid (no such thing as an R-rating in my country), saw the second one in the theater with my lil' sister and it was glorious. I wish I was able to see these last two in the theater too, but where I live really suck when it comes to that. Either movies don't come at all, which was the case here, or they're only screened in French which is awful. I didn't mind the dubbing as a kid since I didn't know better, now I can't enjoy a movie if it's dubbed. Especially when I know what the actors are supposed to sound like, it's jarring to hear someone else talk in their place. Anyways, I've been loving what they did with the franchise, starting with not having decades between releases. But seriously, they took the right aspects of Bay's filmmaking, and added their spin on it, the drone work is fantastic. And Reggie... People call it a redemption of the character, but he didn't need redemption. It's just character developerment/evolution. In his first appearance in Bad Boys 2 he's just a kid who comes to date Marcus' daughter and the adults kinda f*** with him to test him. In his second movie, after that big time jump, we see he is in the military, and getting married. And in this one he's become an integral part of the family and showed that he is right in his place there and did his job as a protector in the absense of the elders. I don't know where the series is gonna go from here. Smith and Lawrence keep aging and won't be able to kick ass forever, and I don't know if the younger characters could carry the franchise with that legacy. It could work as a spin-off set in their world, with Marcus and Mike as mentors. But maybe they should just build towards a definitive ending for our Bad Boys and leave it at that. We'll see when we get there. Cheers from France! 🍻
The thing I loved best about this movie is that payoff for the fans. If you're a BB fan there are SO MANY callbacks to the previous ones..... and then there's THAT scene - the one that made my entire theater erupt - talk about doing justice to the franchise!! I feel like in the 3rd one (which I love BTW) they were trying to do a soft setup with AMMO taking up some of the workload but it didn't really work - I like the 2 we got again in #4 but I don't at all miss the one that didn't return. I do, however think they're potentially trying another soft pass with Armando and I think it works a lot better - i definitely want to see more of that character! Looking back 6 weeks later and looking at the box office/reviews - what do you think? Are they going to do another with more of Mike's son? Also - while some of the supporting characters didn't do anything special, I LOVED the last Armando scene with the females - truly Sophie's choice in a way. Only THAT scene overtopped it and I feel like he and Armando could get into some trouble in the future 😎
Thursday I have to see this film. I never got to see the first film in theatres in the mid 90's but watched it on VHS around late 1995 early 1996. From the previews, clips, tv spots, I can see the whole nostalgia 90s going back the original film with a lot of character moments mirroring from the first film with slow motion montages, gun action sequences with incorporating the zoom in action to capture the actor in action as the trailer did highlight some of those scenes. My only thing is we still haven't seen Tea Leoni reprise her Julie role and we need to know what she has been up to lately lol.
Slight Spoilers for the people coming here for the non spoiler review: I saw this movie opening night and my theater, including me, all cheered at THE Reggie scene

Just by seeing the trailer for this film, I can tell the directors have made the two best bad boys movies in the franchise. I really hope they direct Spider-Man 4. Keep up the great work!
I LOVE all the Bad Boys movies, but I gotta admit watching Martin Lawrence in the last one (and promoting this one), he just seems kind of out of it, like he had a stroke or something.
@SpideySensei72 it wasn't a joke. And if you're saying he had one, he didn't (that he has disclosed). Years ago he had a HEAT stroke, which is a different thing entirely. He was back to normal after that and it is not what caused his current appearance/behavior.
It's been so long since a movie has gotten the audience to react out loud. This may be the return of theatre!
Hoping people turn out! More of this!

I really love the Bad Boys movies. It’s right up there with the Lethal Weapon movies for me. There hasn’t been a horrible one yet, in my opinion ☺️👍
Great comparison! Agreed! Just as with Lethal Weapon I don’t think there’s a bad one! We all have our favorite but theyr all worth watching.

It's crazy since Jacob Sicpio is in the shelved Batgirl film assuming portraying a mob boss directed by Bilall & Adil.

Bad boys 1995 is better because it came out during the early days of blockbusters don’t you think so are you a fan of it.
Don’t really care when a movie came out re: its quality. I like 2 1 4 3 all of em. But in that order
The first one was the best though right after all wouldnt you do a ranking of which is the best and plus nothing can beat the classics .
