My wife and I have been in Mendoza before the p4ndemic. We visit the Andes, drink a lot of wine. The whole experience was incredible! It's one of those places you have to visit. Argentina is an awesome place to travel, by the way. The food is amazing and the wine is among the best in the world.
Love the colorful street and buildings! And people practice tango on the street. This fist impression video explains how lively Argentina is! I would love to visit there and feel the same way😆💓
We loved our time in BA - especially Recoleta (Ayacucho st. where we stayed), La Boca, Florida street for shopping, visiting the best steakhouses, estancias and of course many Tango performances! BA is known as the Paris of the South.
You're lucky, January is vacation time here in Argentina, so the city is a lot less crowded than usual, because everyone's on vacation somewhere. You also managed to avoid the huge, devastating heat wave the that hit the city recently, and since it was an overcast day, there were even fewer people. Usually all the areas you showed would be packed with people.
When I was in Argentina, in 2008, I too noticed that the majority of the people were White looking. I knew Argentina had a large Italian population and knew that majority of their Presidents had Italian ancestry. Anyway, I just discovered that about 63% of the total population have some degree of Italian blood. You'll notice a lot of Italian food restaurants there. Also, I heard that Argentina is known for their beef and also leather.
BA is my favorite city in South America, maybe one of the few cities there that can begin to rival some in Europe. (Rio is second Carol, don't worry- but they're really very different).Next time you're back there you must go to the Palermo area, a little away from downtown, if you haven't been or not going on this trip. One of the coolest neighbourhoods I've been anywhere.
For those wanting to use public transport in Buenos Aires: you need to get the SUBE card, which you can buy at subway stations and some kioscos (which are like small convenience stores for snacks or beverages mainly and some other things), maybe at train stations too but I'm not 100% sure on that. You then put money in the card at the same place you bought it and then you can go anywhere. For most touristy places you can get around by subway or train and walking, dependind on where you're staying of course, and different bus lines run through all the city and the surrounding areas too.

Happy to hear that you have both recovered from Covid. I love the architectural designs of all the buildings you showed in this video. The area is so clean too! Argentina is a must place to visit. 🥰
BA is like the Paris of South America. Good food, wine and cafés. There are so many nice areas in BA to explore, good museums as well as parks with entertainment in the weekends. The neighborhood of Palermo, Puerto Madero, Feria de San Telmo, drinking some Fernet con Coca (CocaCola with Fernet Branca) and not to forget the ease of jumping across Rio de la Plata to Montevideo wich is a super relaxed place. BTW the hop-on-hop-off buses are a great way to get around if you get a day pass, also I recommend taking a biking tour of the city wich is a great way to sample diffrent neighborhoods.

It's got a history as a more bohemian area with tango and art and it's become the touristy part of town. The city center is going to dead on the weekends because it attracts people from surrounding areas for work. Otherwise, nobody much has a reason to go there. Santiago, Chile is exactly the same way.

Thank you Chris and Carol. Your videos are always so authentic and informative. They inspire me to travel all the places that you do. Keep up the fabulous work!!
If the food si not salty enough, you can ask the waiter to bring you a salt shaker. Some restaurants don't add salt to the food in case the customers can't eat spicy food. Welcome to Argentina 🇦🇷🇦🇷
Well guys, it's not enough time to see Buenos Aires... there's so much to see and do, but it's best in the winter... you'll have to go back there... Also to see the South of Brazil. Have a nice trip.
One thing I've noticed with BA apartments is their size, relative to the U.S! ...While you pay much less in U.S. $ for an apartment there, they are all STUDIOS of 300 sf - and all of modern design. Here in the U.S, a 1 bedroom apartment is generally 600-650sf and 2 BR is about 700-750 SF. Your apartment 10 years ago would have cost about $450-500/mo in many areas of the U.S. Now? $1,600 or more! And everything is so modern..which does not appeal to me. I like older more comfy...these are quite sterile- almost like cubes!
Glad to see you are both fully recovered and back on your travels and thanks for another great video. Warning needed on La Boca - many instances of tourists being robbed there. Looking forward to the next video from Patagonia.
@@flacosolazzi6250 of course it can - I was only commenting that La Boca is the one place in Buenos Aires that tourists are warned about - I was not making a general comment about Argentina - we felt very safe there everywhere we went and the locals very friendly.
What a great video you guys!!!!!! I always watch your videos and today I found this nice surprise, I'm from Argentina (living in NY for many many years) and all these places bring lots of nostalgic memories. I haven't been there in many years tho. Enjoy and be safe!
The plug is the I style. We have it here in Australia/NZ and it's the style in the Pacific...PS it's funny seeing Chris in city clothes. Look forward to Patagonia. If you have time check out Esteros del Ibera. It's an overlooked nature reserve full of wildlife that's not too far from Missiones and Iguazu.
I really need to travel, but probably Europa will be too expensive next year. Argentina is a great option! I'm from Brazil and I have met many Argentinians, in Brazil and in others countries. The most of them are great people! 🇧🇷🇧🇷 🇦🇷🇦🇷
very nice video guys but i'd like to make a little correction cause it can be confusing.. el obelisco is the first place where the argentinian flag was OFFICIALLY risen.. but the first place where the flag was risen was in rosario.. you can find el monumento a la bandera (monument to the flag) there.. and i would like to tell you another little detail.. la boca is so colourful cause it was a very important port area and the people who lived there there were very poor.. so when there was some paint left from the ships the people would take it and paint the houses..
A short and nice video around the center of the city. I like the mood of the speech: respectful and precise; althoug not very extensive. Thanks for coming to Argentina. Have a nice trip.
Downtown area is basically desolate area on weekends if you lookin up for crowded places, you might visit La Boca, Puerto Madero, San telmo and Palermo
We spend 3 weeks in Buenos Aires. Quite interesting. We don’t speak Spanish so the street money changers we did not trust because we might get counterfeit money. So we paid the official tourist price. We did enjoy BA. But we found already then a lot of stores where totally shut. Before the pandemic. We been to all these places and more. Good luck in your travels.
Bro, just a comment, none of those buildings is colonial, those were all built around 1900. Colonial Buenos Aires was a little town without any significant buildings. The only ones still remaining from that time are the Cabildo and a couple churches.
Thanks for the informative video.👍🏻 We're going to Argentina in January 2023 and spending 3 days in Buenos Aires, so it's helpful to know about the "Cambio" exchange rates & also the oddly shaped power sockets!😂

Hello, I’m glad to see both of you fully recovered from the Covid. Now it’s fun and good good in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Thank you for sharing your time with us. Have fun be safe.
Very interesting walking tour of BA. Combination of old and new, grand and modest. The art district was great.Did remind me of places in Mexico City.
Onward to Patagonia!
A suggestion for your videos: I would also be interested in the nightlife in cities. I missed that especially in Rio (Leblon, Lapa). What does the bar and club scene in the cities look like at night. Bon voyage in Argentina!
In January I’m heading to Costa Rica but I would loveee to go to Argentina one day it’s on my travel bucket list for sure!
Hi beautiful people, glad your both well and your family as well.
Argentina looks like a nice & fun place
May God Bless, guide & protect you both
From Chicago USA
Thank you Chris and Carol. Your videos are always so authentic and informative. They inspire me to travel all the places that you do. Keep up the fabulous work!!
If the food si not salty enough, you can ask the waiter to bring you a salt shaker. Some restaurants don't add salt to the food in case the customers can't eat spicy food. Welcome to Argentina 🇦🇷🇦🇷
Hi Chris and Carol keep safe good to hear you 2 free from Covid take care always guy's ❤️❤️
Messi comes my mind
When I hear Argentina...
What an exciting trip! Buenos Aires is a lot of the time referred to as the Paris of South America
Great to see you back on the road.
Enjoy guys. Excited to see Argentina and The Great Patagonia.
I love Argentina . Will be moving there soon.
Glad you made it there! Looking forward to the Patagonia videos!
Australia and New Zealand has this same type of plug socket as well. Hope you can return soon to BA for a longer stay.
What a great video you guys!!!!!! I always watch your videos and today I found this nice surprise, I'm from Argentina (living in NY for many many years) and all these places bring lots of nostalgic memories. I haven't been there in many years tho. Enjoy and be safe!
The Old Money of Spain is evident... everywhere ! Beautiful !
Glad you both appear well after Covid and still taking precaution with mask. Cheers.
It seems a lovely placer! Greetings from Lomas De Zamora, Argentina
Keep that Argie power adapter if you ever decide to go to Australia or New Zealand -- they use the Aussie plug in Argentina.
SALUDOS!!!
Nueva sub. xd
Bueno Aries! known as Paris of south America. enjoy your trip.👊🏼 don't forget to visit Evita Paron's mausoleum 😉
A pity you couldn't visit the neighborhood of Palermo and San Telmo! Maybe on the next trip
The dual exchange rate reminded me of my visit to Brazil in the 1980s. Same situation then. Can’t wait to see you guys doing the tango. 😅
Enjoy your visit to Argentina. Glad you're feeling better.
Sad to hear that both of you got covid . Keep safe guys. Keep vlogging. God bless.
How beautiful! We'll see it again.
Love the colour and the food looked great. Beautiful city. 👍😊
Nice walk, You have to visit other beautiful neighborhoods such as Puerto Madero, Palermo, Corrientes street, famous for its movie theaters and restaurants, and many more places.greetings from BA
