@@cookiecracker2 i can see a MiG 17AS if my vid res didnt fail me, but even then imo it just didnt show the real cougar experience (bleeds half it's speed in a turn, bad missiles and energy trapped by everything else).
Its sooooo expensive but it's really really good, one of my favorite things is taking it to grb and just poping unaware 91s with aim9bs as soon as they span

Lets appreciate the fact that I have jets in 3 factions, including the entire NAVY tree of the US, F14 and all, over 2500 hours of RB on war thunder, and I have NEVER had a carrier spawn on an air battle. EVER. Also, Yeah the cougar is sick, noice gameplay.

You know, I played it for the first time to get the extra RP for the F-14A, great plane and all but I NEVER got a map which I could take off from the carrier while spading it. Really sad that Gaijoob implemented carriers but maps that has are so friggin rare.

The BRs and repair cost in the early jets of the USN line are such a mess, they're all either overtiered or undertiered, and why the FJ-4 is still in the attackers line is a mistery
Think he meant the F-80, and personally, I wouldn't go for it. I mean, the flight performance is nice, but given that every other nation is using autocannons at this point, the .50s are kind of underwhelming. I'd recommended trying to get the F3D, as it has solid performance paired with the deadly US 20mms _and_ it gets an airspawn. Very underrated jet IMO.

for the carrier spawns, always spool your engines before launching. makes life way easier

Not just that big the cougar only has landing flaps so take off should be done with flaps up

ive had one carrier spawn and it was worse than airfield spawn smh
Getting spawned on a carrier in an early carrier jet means the catapult will accelerate you above your gear rip speed. Gaijin moment.
