Glad I grew up in this era!!!! This was definitely my childhood
I know right ✅️ This is 80s best right here.
I was 13 bro 👌
me too.
so phresh, this film, huh?
Them Beat Street denim jackets were so dope...
Beat Street, Wild Styles, Crush Groove, Get Rich or Die tryin', tougher and Leather, and 8 Mile. Thank you for a cinematic view of this phenomenal Hip Hop Culture. Classic's Crate.
today you not working backwards using a computer. I cannot imagine playing without mine. Hip Hop outlived the short sighted studio Orion.
Yooo, what song did that come from when he was saying It's working, It's Working!?
👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾✨
Good movie not hating on it, but the best movie on the bboy, deejay, MC and Graffiti scene is Wild Style because it shows you how it was done out in the South Bronx.
Yup. I saw wild style on 42nd back in 83.
WHEN DJ'S MIXED WITH RECORDS NOT COMPUTERS
Don't be a slave to no computer!
Yep.. I still slice record since 1984 there ain't nothing better anybody that says computers are way better to use are fooling themselves
*SONG USING EXCLUSIVELY DRUM COMPUTERS STARTS*
and no auto-tune
In about 40 years time from now, someone else will be shaking their heads and commenting "When DJ's mixed with computers and not AI" 😀
Best hip-hop movie ever made.
I'm from Tijuana Mexico and yes!!!! Beat Street brought Hip-hop to the forefront of the world, it brought...
1. A new dance 2. DJ scartching, mixing, blending etc.. 3. MC presence
4. bombing(artistic graffiti) 5. cool-hip wardrobe.
THIS HIP-HOP CULTURE GAVE EVERYONE A CHANCE TO BE PART OF SOMETHING FUN AND POSITIVE.
You forgot to mention Hip Hop culture is a black American cultural creation. #FBA #ProtectTheCulture
@@BeinformedBefreethe storytelling, music, art, dancing was not all black. It was a collective expression of artists from impoverished communities who came together in unity and expression.
Sadly derivatives of the culture then segregated race, colour and culture
@legoman911 It was and is all black. Other people joined in later. But make no mistake it's Black Culture. It doesn't matter who does it
@legoman911 It's an extension of Black Culture. It had nothing to do with being impoverished. The Dance is Black...music Black...it's a culture creates by Black people for black people. Others liked it. That simple
You completely wrong
It's a mix of cultures@@BeinformedBefree
This is a great under rated movie
+SLIP NORRIS Not under rated, just 31 years old
yeah like the godfather
+SLIP NORRIS lol
With all due respect. . . but I always felt like Lee had a little look a like to Kobe Bryant.
@@jsaktube tell him...everybody was on this movie back in the day. lol Wasn't ever underrated.
IT'S WORKING! IT'S WORKING!
LOL 2:19 When your little brother always crashing the parties. :)
You said I did you know was up
When Hip-Hop was broke but had raw talent and original style. Now it’s rich with no talent and unoriginal. Miss these days! (Except for Spit)
My mother took me to watch this movie as a kid growing up in 1984 at Hoyts Cinemas Townhall Sydney Australia at the time I was going to church as it says in the Bible God Done graffiti it inspired me And every think about this movie it's absolute classic I don't know why??? but most definitely made Beat Street 2 it would've been timeless like this one and last forever 💙
As a fellow Australian born after this movie, it’s awesome to hear that this got a theatrical release here in Sydney! A classic movie that my older brother put me onto who was also in the breaking scene. Thank you for sharing your experience!
Is that Dougie Fresh(The original Dougie) at 2:04? With a can of 8 ball!
yep
You’re like 20 years late with that one lol. Everyone knew that.
He looks like a Crip extra from Colors 4 years before that movie came out.
Party people if you are ready to rock, let me hear you scream......goosebumps. Everytime, for so many views....
Was happiest time for alot of youth too. As we had lots to do . Not like today social media coatch potatoes .

yea Lee
Clasdic 4ever . 1983, 1984 2 legend years when breakin , poppin , graffiti and bboying was at its peak especially in new york the birth place of HIP HOP . I witnessed it all since late 70s to the 84 . And im so greatful i was there . LA had its own strong version but there own style in the peak years of early 80s like poppin lockin started there and theyhad bad good crews too . Listen to me use lingo of the 80s again lol.
Lets see
Thats fresh
Thats bad
Your wack
Thats def
Yo
Anyone from 80z wanna help me out im sure you remember more lol ????

Cardboard on the street with the getto blasters!!! Lol goin down to compete at the Bronx in Liverpool !!! HAHAHA!!! Oh yeah Thems the dayzzz!!!
those were the best times man
Then Lee shows up with his posse and crashes the party…😎😎😎
But in fairness i think the 80s bought everyone from all nations colours and back grounds to unite and be apart of hip hop in the 80s .
No nudity, no twerking, no stripping, no violence, no drugs and alcohol. Just people enjoying the music and dancing and most of all being happy.
Actually there was some violence. Just saying. 😅
@@ashleythomas5378 Nobody got hurt. Violence is when there's a fight and someone gets hurt. Just saying 👍
@@RLTee-tw7zv Ramon died chasing Spit
Brings back memories! 💯💯💯💯💯💯
Lee came and shut it down...
Can we just get along like this again?????????????????

Wild Style is by far a way better movie than Beat Street and way, way better than Breakin'
REST IN POWER HARRY BELAFONTE 🎤🎧🎶🎵🎶🎵🎶 ............. 🕊
Wild Style by far is the best movie on the history of Hip Hop because it features the pioneers of bboyin', grafitti, DJin' and MCin'
I went to the Roxy the Funhouses Roseland in 1983 to check out the moves . We danced we danced our asses off broke with no money in our pockets but the DJ was our friends . JELLYBEAN the Mexican was a go to for me. FRESH CITY BREAKERS. thank you Rockers what great times
