I'm a lesbian and I don't think so. People are allowed to have whatever opinions they want, but my take is no. I think because accusing her of being one was one of Regina's main targets for bullying it wouldn't be wise to make her gay. Maybe bi, if you want to go based on stereotypes of style and personality, but if she really was gay, then it makes regina a canon homophobe, and technically correct in what she says. The reason things like not inviting her to a pool party because she's gay make her seem too sensitive and overprotective of her image, rather than outright cruel is because they aren't even true. Instead of being bigotry backed up by facts, I like reginas character as just wrong in her choices. But if the writers say it i can't dispute. Just my opinion

There was a little bit of hinting toward Enid being a lesbian, when elle did the bend and snap warner said he didn't see it and to do it again (cause he thought it was sexy) and Enid said "PLEASE"
Okay as someone who is very into Les Mis the novel I think that Victor Hugo was definitely implying and intending homoerotic undertones between Enjolras and Grantaire. They’re compared throughout the novel to Orestes and Pylades, two men in Greek mythology who are lovers. They are continually described as being intrinsically linked as people and they literally die holding hands. Grantaire’s whole character is based around veneration for Enjolras who is too all consumed by revolutionary fervour to pay any notice to Grantaire. They are the ultimate tragic gay love story and I will literally never shut up about them
enjolras is also compared to apollo and apollo is our bisexual icon as he has been in the most same sex relationships compared to the other gods. and all the greek gods are definitely not straight.
Ehh... It's definitely stated as clearly as Victor Hugo could get away with at the time considering that homosexuality was considered a mental illness that Grantaire was in love with Enjolras, but it's also very made abundantly clear that's a completely one-sided thing on Grantaire's part. Enjolras is quite clearly coded to be aro-ace more than anything else - it's outright stated (multiple times) that his biggest love is "Patria" (i.e. France itself) and in Hugo's initial character description of Enjolras, there's an entire paragraph dedicated to explaining that said love for his country has all but completely taken the place of any romantic love Enjolras might potentially feel. Every interaction he has with Grantaire is basically about R blatantly being in love with him and Enjolras being either unwilling to acknowledge it or legitimately unable to reciprocate. Sorry, it's just that as an ace myself, there's honestly very little that annoys me more than ace-Enjy erasure, considering novel-Enjolras was one of the first (and still very few) examples of actually healthy (albeit coded) asexuality where it's not implied to be due to some mental deficiency or trauma or capable of being "fixed"...
beetlejuice has actually been confirmed to be pansexual! ^^ in the show (very slight spoiler here) he smooches both barbera and adam and then continues to hit in adam through out the whole show
Fun fact about Anne of Cleves: Henry the 8th used to do this weird thing where he would dress up in a disguise and meet women he fancied. He thought that despite the disguise true lovers would recognise each other or some shit like that. Any way so he did this to Anne of Cleves and by this point he was really old and had a festering sore on his leg which made him really smelly. Anne was completely horrified and because she didn’t recognise him physically recoiled and was like ew not only are you man, you smelly man. Henry couldn’t handle this and stormed off shouting “I like her not”. Basically it was the olde timey version of a tinder match swiping right and then sending you a message like “i didn’t like you anyway-slut”

Enid is *definitely* gay. When Elle does the Bend and Snap in court, Enid responds to it the same way the men do, then when Warner asks Elle to do it again Enid says 'please?' Plus she's shown pausing the tape of Brooke in 'Whipped Into Shape'. (And I have just seen that someone else already mentioned that much more succinctly than I did!)

All I can say is that when I first listened to "What is this feeling?" I didn't really have a good english level so I thought it was "loving" instead of "loathing" and my brain just accepted it. Elphie and Glinda are def gay for each other.
In “what is this feeling” from wicked the song starts as a love song then like switches when they say “loathing” that should hint that they’re gay right? Like the start singing a love song but they have to change it to hating each other right? Right?

There is nothing that will convince me that all of the newsies AREN'T gay. They're gay in the 1992 film, they're gay in the musical. There is no heterosexual explanation for half of what happens in Newsies. I'm also not convinced that any of the teens in DEH are straight. They all radiate LGBTQ+ vibes in some way. Yes, I know Evan and Zoe date, my point still stands.
"Cats can be gay" Me: looks at my male cat, who always lays down like what we at home call "a gay Sfinx statue". On his side, all legs stretched (to show curves?) and his front paws crossed. If he was a human he would either be an over the top dramatic gay guy or a drag queen.... or both
I know lots of people talk about how What is this Feeling sounds like a love song but I think the point of it was to set up this joke, because most people feeling like that have romantic attraction towards someone then they just say "loathing". However, it doesn't really work the way it should and it just sounds very GAY so I love it.
When I saw Beetlejuice in the DC tryout I was fairly certain they were bi or pan just by how they seemed very interested in both of the Maitlands. As for the enby part, it's not as obvious but I do believe Alex Brightman said he doesn't think Beetlejuice should always be played by a cis man, so the role could be whatever gender the person playing them identifies as.

I’m straight and all this time though that it was out of the box thinking that Enjolras and Grantaire were gay but Amy really came and said no the whole abc cafe is gay okay I’m and idiot how did I never see that
Have you read the book? It’s very much canon.
YES to all of these & i also feel like cinderella from into the woods has the GAYEST vibes (esp with the whole "oH thE pRiNcE" part like come onnnnn)
Sooooo true!!!!
Cinderella feels like compulsive heterosexuality , I know half of it is projection but I feel like she went to the ball to see women and ended up with a man
@@BrookeAlesya omg yes i totally agree!
also wicked would be so much better if fiyero was just glinda and elphaba’s third wheel bestie cheering them on but maybe that’s just me
although that is tru and i really want that, wicked wouldn’t do as well on broadway and the west end if it was like that, ESPECIALLY back in 2003 and probably until about 2012
There was a little bit of hinting toward Enid being a lesbian, when elle did the bend and snap warner said he didn't see it and to do it again (cause he thought it was sexy) and Enid said "PLEASE"
They are the ultimate tragic gay love story and I will literally never shut up about them
omg same (please never shut up about it!!!)
that's what i always got from the book too.
enjolras is also compared to apollo and apollo is our bisexual icon as he has been in the most same sex relationships compared to the other gods. and all the greek gods are definitely not straight.
I will also never shut up about them. It’s canon and nothing can change my mind!
^^ in the show (very slight spoiler here) he smooches both barbera and adam and then continues to hit in adam through out the whole show
wait not heather M having "but im a cheerleader" vibes
You're absolutely right. Miss Honey is 100% the cottagecore lesbian that i aspire to be. Now i know why i loved her so much as a child 😅
I didn't even begin to think of it but now that I do,, she is such an adorable cottagecore lesbian.
Oh my god this is incredible!!!!
The more you know.
freaking BEAUTIfUL
My person and I change the lyrics of What is This Feeling from loathing to loving. It works great.
Omg I love this
@@AmyLovatt1 the first time I’ve listened to that song I thought they sang loving instead of loathing
'unadulterated loving' 👀
No Mister Mistoffelees or Rum Rum Tugger? I mean, Misto literally pulled out a rainbow from a hat and Tugger just sang about how amazing he is non-stop
I think she remembered cats wrong. Aren't rumple' and mungo' girl boy siblings. How can they be gay. It was always mr mistof' and rum tug that had chemistry. I guess she hadn't seen cats in a while and mixed up the cats
THE SENSUAL TENSION IN WICKED (ESPECIALLY THE BOOK) IS UNDENIABLE
The last time I was this early micheal was still in the bathroom
you're gonna make me scream about gelphie. i read the book. THEY KISSED IN THE BOOK. THEY KISSED. also: elphaba is bi, glinda is a lesbian. Peace out✌
please tell me: at the end of out of oz, who do you think opens glinda’s prison cell???? do you think...??????? maybe?????
@@lent_ils 👀👀👀 maybe......... 💚
@@whatisausername7679 😊😊
Can't they be both be bi?
@@shelbymckinney8888 sure they can but that's my headcanon soo 🤷♀️
In the Les Mis book half of Grantaire's first introduction/discription is dedicated to how incredibly gay he is for Enjolras, and I think that that's beautiful
We just need to point out how proud Amy is about her sexuality now, loving it! Xxx
🥺
i just assumed enid was gay cause 1. callahan says to her ‘you lesbians think you’re so funny’ and 2. her reaction to elle doing the bend and snap and asking her to do it again... i they made it as explicit possible without her straight up saying she’s gay (also 3. her outfits!! )
i’m honestly pretty sure it’s cannon
omg and MORITZ AND MELCHIOR like that one part in touch meeee like they have to have at least a lil bi crush on each other🥺
Totally here for this
wicked is actually just an enemies to lovers, canon divergence of the wizard of oz, oh my god they were roommates, angst and hurt comfort fic and i’m here for it
one of my favorite tgwdlm headcanons is that paul had a crush on bill before meeting emma
YES
THANK YOU
I heard that it's cannon that Jeremy and Michael date in college
🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
YES, i must've knew that because I did that with my BMC boyfs sims when university came out! ( now they're married)
I don’t know if anyone’s mentioned this yet but in the Dear Evan Hansen YA novel, Connor is not straight. It’s not really clear what his sexuality is, I think he described it as “fluid” but he was more or less dating a guy. I just loved that for him and it makes me even sadder
E. All of them. The answer is all of them. Thank you for coming to my ted talk
Regina and Janice are SAPHICCCCC
Ex friends doesn’t hate each other as they do...
...But Ex-Lovers do
me when I thought I was straight: *automatically assumed every character was cishet unless confirmed otherwise*
me now as a disaster bisexual who isn’t yet ready to question gender: *sees any character* oh yeah they’re gay
Wait I do that
🎶the rum rum tugger is a bi-curious cat🎶
I’m so excited you’re making this video!! What do you think about Paul from TGWDLM being bi? (since in What Do You Want Paul, he says he might want is money, a partner. Not a wife. A partner. Bicon? Yes.)
Bicon for SURE
disaster bi
Incredibly bold of anyone to assume that literally any Starkid character is straight.
@@Caroline28483 lol facts I’m sorry
I know that you’ve been wanting a wiggly and they are going to be restocked again! You can look at the description of the newest starkid video for more info, just wanted to let you know!
Ooh thank you! I am still intending on making one, I just need to get round to doing it haha!
I know this comment was intended for Amy, but this has absolutely just made my day. Thank you!
@@natalieogden1945 Oh ofc, I'm so glad yay!
Enid is *definitely* gay. When Elle does the Bend and Snap in court, Enid responds to it the same way the men do, then when Warner asks Elle to do it again Enid says 'please?' Plus she's shown pausing the tape of Brooke in 'Whipped Into Shape'.
(And I have just seen that someone else already mentioned that much more succinctly than I did!)
i can see heather mac in the thumbnail and i 100% agree i think that all 3 heathers and all 3 plastics are sapphic !! it makes a lot of sense for those 6 to be lesbians and for cady and veronica to be bisexual ,,, at least in my head it does !!
And this is my new favorite headcanon now
the fact that jack kelly really says “the girls are nice once or twice till i find something new but i never planned on someone like you” and he’s not only just met katherine but also davey really screams bisexual to me and literally nothing can change that (the strong couple vibes from jack and davey in the original movie only really confirmed it in my brain tbh)
jack x davey is lowkey my otp so this made me happy lol but i didn't even notice that in that line what-
imma use this as proof that they're both vy fruity now tysm
Haven’t even seen the video yet and I have to say Gelphie would have been way more interesting than Fiyeraba.
I just came out half a year ago and so I really appreciate this video!
congrats on coming out!! :))
@@ErikDijk thank you! :)
barret wilbert weed has actually said that she plays janis as a lesbian
your profile pic is my fave :)
jack and david from newsies were def a big one for me as soon as i saw them i was like what do you mean they’re not in love? (in the movie anyway, haven’t seen the stage version yet)
One of mine is Davey from Newsies.... I don't know why, there are really no hints of it, but to me he just... He just straight up is, y'know?
He has major nervous gay vibes
I SUPPORT
"straight" up
Did you know its cannon that Connor Murphy is gay, or at least likes guys. It was in the book adaptation of the musical.
Ngl i don’t think that really counts as canon, because the novel wasn’t written by the creators of the show and took a lot of other creative liberties as well.
@@toxicsugarart2103 on my book it says written by Val Emmich with Steven Levenshulme, Benj Pasek and Justin Paul (crraters of the hit show). So actually...
@@maddieevans8342 that’s just obligatory credit to the original creators, it doesn’t mean they actually had any involvement in the novel.
@@toxicsugarart2103 okay well read the acknowledgements then
@Ariella Waters oof that’s disappointing to me. (Not because they made Connor not straight or anything, I just have a lot of other issues with the book lol)
"What is this feeling" is THE Rivals-to-lovers anthem and you can't change my mind
My favourite line from Be More Chill has to be when they line up the backpacks and they spell out Boyf riends and Michael goes “my moms would be so proud!” 😅😅
glinda, elphaba, and fiyero should have been a polyamorous thruple and that's where it's at (all are bi/pan)
regina literally wears docs in one scene in the musical so take from that what you will
Dove Cameron on twitter confirming every character she ever played was lgbt in some form because she says so gave me life
Yeah, I can totally see the that, especially in Mal from Descendants. Mal and Evie were totally more than best friends and you can fight me on that
i see gay i click
I think Alana is ace personally. I thought that you were going to say that when you mentioned her not having any signs of attraction in DEH
okay, mama morton is definetly gay, but consider this: Velma Kelly
As someone who has played Mama Morton in the past, can confirm.
personally i vibe with ace enjolras, but i see gay enjolras as well
Ooooh I’m also here for ace enjolras
All I can say is that when I first listened to "What is this feeling?" I didn't really have a good english level so I thought it was "loving" instead of "loathing" and my brain just accepted it. Elphie and Glinda are def gay for each other.
this-this is beautiful
"glinda is it true that you were her friend?"
"...well I'm not sure what you mean by friend..."
ಠωಠ
*waits patiently for Jack Kelly x Davey Jacobs (and honestly the entire Newsies cast)*
Every single character in newsies and cats
I'm a simple man... I see a photo of Ramin Karimloo, I click, he's gorgeous 😍😍 but Yasssss, I completely agree with these 🙌
To me, Grantaire has the most honest gay love in any musical, Victor Hugo wrote the book in 1862... and he was clearly in love with Enjolras
the only woman enjolras was interested in was france i rest my case
💀💀💀
I love that you gave mini fan fictions for each character
In “what is this feeling” from wicked the song starts as a love song then like switches when they say “loathing” that should hint that they’re gay right? Like the start singing a love song but they have to change it to hating each other right? Right?
Oh my gosh you made Scarfy 😭💕🌈 I cannot express the amount of joy that brought me it's so amazing
Enid Hoops! Definitely! :) She wants to keep watching Brooke Wyndham’s work out video and she loves Elle’s bend and snap!
I'm going to bed rn so I'll watch this in the morning but I could not scroll past without saying that you look ✨beautiful✨ in your rainbow with your wee curls
Ohh thank you ☺️ see you tomorrow then!
The fact you made a scarfy is the most amazing thing I've ever seen on this platform.
"Cats can be gay"
Me: looks at my male cat, who always lays down like what we at home call "a gay Sfinx statue". On his side, all legs stretched (to show curves?) and his front paws crossed.
If he was a human he would either be an over the top dramatic gay guy or a drag queen.... or both
we stan your cat
I know lots of people talk about how What is this Feeling sounds like a love song but I think the point of it was to set up this joke, because most people feeling like that have romantic attraction towards someone then they just say "loathing". However, it doesn't really work the way it should and it just sounds very GAY so I love it.
That scarfy is LITERALLY EVERYTHING!!
Amy i implore you, you have to watch Spies Are Forever
im pretty sure alex brightman came up with the pan/nonbinary one so,,, yes??
OMG love the haircut!!! so cute!!!
Thank you!!
You’re a genius, Amy!
The way I GASPED when I saw the title of this video this is everything I needed from life 💜💜
my most-read Les Mis ships was Cosette X Eponine and Enjolras X Grandsire, I have not shipped straight ships in a hot minute

"How do you solve a problem like Maria? ...She's gay" OMG! your rant about Sound Of Music! I was dying laughing!
"she wants to spend time dancing in the fields...which I have to say is a pretty gay thing to do"
I'm not even particularly into musicals / theaters (though I do end up enjoying most shows I see), but you're such an engaging and entertaining storyteller that I'm binging all your videos!! Your description of solving a problem like Maria (who's gay!) is so funny and I loved your Rebecca and other theater scandals videos as well.
"the entire abc cafe" yes i agree
as a local who worked 7 productions of legally blonde in a year and memorized the show: in whipped into shape it's canon that enid is the only student who gets distracted by the dance video! watch the way literally everyone stages it, and she unpauses it. elegant rep? maybe not. confirmed? well she def got the hots for a girl...
i'd never thought about it before but omg i am so here for the entire abc cafe being gay that is canon now
Ok, hear me out: Moritz Stiefel
He totally has a crush on Melchior
Also, Melchior is probably pan/bi
I love this video! Also I've never considered the Maria + the Countess combination, but omg love it. Definitely makes the "doesn't fit in" theme even stronger! (all respect to the actual real life humans of course, but they changed so much in the movie anyway!)
