- The made-in-India, made-for-India Triumph Speed 400 is a blockbuster hit already, courtesy of its mouth-watering price tag of Rs 2.20 lakh (Ex-showroom; Introductory). Made in partnership with Bajaj at its plant in Chakan, the Speed 400 is the most affordable Triumph in the world. On paper - and in pictures - it does come across as a job well done, which is what made Shivank book one already!
However, is it really a good purchase? Does it live up to the hype? Is the Speed 400 a true Triumph on all fronts, or is it compromised? We got to test the Speed 400 extensively for a day, and suffice to say, we have the answer to all these questions, and more.

Buy the Speed 400 now or wait for the Scrambler 400X, what’s your suggestion?
Scrambler 400 x is a better deal, especially for tall riders, if Triumph prices it right, around 2.45-2.55 ex showroom.
Speed looks killer
Scrambler 400x booked already!
@@aakashsandhu2165
yes I am expecting exshowroom price tag of ~2.6L
looks incredible & the finish looks outstanding as well. I'd be keen to try the Scrambler 400X.
Is it e20 compatible?
obviously..😀
how does it feel with the traction control off though.. can it burn rubber and breathe fire?.. can it unicycle.. stay safe and godspeed 400!!
Yes.. it transforms into Starscream too.
@@AshutoshSingh-wg5km😂
yup spreads its wings and flies at 5000ft for about 30 mins as well.
speed goes above 220 kmph after traction off ...You will feel the power of Hayabusa without any vibration
thats not believable, thanks but ok,.. ur sarcasm is lost in the construction of your sentence or ur plain delusional..@@Sarthak-gu2wr
I dont think Scrambler400 will cost just 10-10K more than Speed400..
I think the delta will be more like ~30k.. so expecting exshowroom price tag of ~2.6L
Yeah id be surprised if they keep it around 2.5
Appreciate the honesty of the Reviewer, kudos to you
Low the music volume!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They should launch a version of the scrambler with a 17-inch front wheel which also reduces the seat height.
Bro that's speed
@@nuemanhanif8255 scrambler's suspension and swing arm with Speed's wheel.
what for?
What's the model of your helmet?
What are the engine refinement issues, can you please elaborate ?
It’s noticeably vibey between 4,000-6,000rpm, so if you’re maintaining a steady/constant pace, the handlebar and pegs get quite buzzy.
@@shivank_bhatt so does it mean the vibes reduce after 6000 rpm or does the adrenaline and speed and engine noise make us ignore the vibes ?
@@RRP1992 It stays more or less the same. There’s just this constant buzz from 4,000rpm onwards. Outright acceleration, you don’t notice.
Looks like a great fun bike. I think it would look good styled like a Bonnie or the Tiger Cub. Not keen on the tank paint and decals. Give it a nice Triumph badge and two tone paint job.
Great review! Earned a sub! 👍🏽
Are the [pre production bikes mapped differently?
Seems odd its buzzy at 4000 RPM.
Other reviewers say not till 6000 RPM one said not till 7000 RPM.
I just wonder if the production bikes are sorted.
Guess we see next week
These are very much the production bikes. Vibrations start building up from 4,000rpm and then they get more and more prominent as the revs rise. In this case, we were riding in the rain, maintaining a steady cruise of 70-90km/h, and that's when you notice there's this constant buzz from the bar and pegs.
@@autoX thanks for the reply
I have owned some buzzy singles so I expect some of that.
It’s subjective but if the bike feels like DR650 on the highway I won’t be buying it.
I just finished 25,000 on a Honda Rally 250 and highway speeds 115km were a bit buzzy but ok. 130km topped out so I want a little more power for the occasional highway section. Will be interested n seeing how the RE Himalaya compares to the Triumph scrambler 400X. I hope RE releases the new Himalaya soon to be able to compare bikes.
I will be following your channel to see what you think of both bikes
Cheers
It will depends how bad the vibrations are
Where's the charging port?
ENGINE HEATING IT FOR SURE. EXPERIENCED IT EVERYTIME I RODE IT
29 kmpl oh boi 😭
its good for 400cc bike
Congratulations.
All along you knew this is a great bike with an equally good price tag.
Is it compatible with e20 fuel?
Yes.
@@twik1316 any authentic link or blog?
@@peekaii not sure why my reply was taken down.
You can search for the blog on team bhp. They have mentioned it there.
"The fuel tank capacity is 13 litres and assuming fuel efficiency in the ballpark of 27 - 28 km/l, this should be good for about 250 - 270 km before the bike requires a refill. Slightly frugal highway riding might help it nudge closer to the 30 km/l mark but these are all company-claimed figures and we did not get the chance to test this in the real world with the reliable 'tank to tank' method. Do note that the Triumph Speed 400 is E20 compatible."
Wow❤
Vibey like the dominar engine. Again the dominar engine comes into picture.
Definitely gonna book this!
Roadster models are not for everyone.,.. Triumph should launch cruiser models
Buy a Rocket.
Is it better than duke 250 which is similarly priced?
Of course, depends on which look you like though.
specs are better, sounds and we are seeing feeling too. But I dont think it matches Duke 390. But price makes it WORTH more buying. I will go for it if they dont launch 390 or Husq 401 for a similar price.
@@rocka07 was comparing it with 250 duke. I hv booked 250 duke and now confused wether to cancel or buy it
@@coolfriend693I think I wasnt clear enough. I said its better than 250 but not better than 390. I think u should test ride both before buy it. But there is the service too. KTM has more showrooms than Triumph. Lets see.
@@coolfriend693I'd get the speed 400 over the duke 250 any day
Mileage kitna he bhai .. wo bhi bta de
It gives 30kmpl only
@@AswathReacheronly?
