  • The made-in-India, made-for-India Triumph Speed 400 is a blockbuster hit already, courtesy of its mouth-watering price tag of Rs 2.20 lakh (Ex-showroom; Introductory). Made in partnership with Bajaj at its plant in Chakan, the Speed 400 is the most affordable Triumph in the world. On paper - and in pictures - it does come across as a job well done, which is what made Shivank book one already!
    However, is it really a good purchase? Does it live up to the hype? Is the Speed 400 a true Triumph on all fronts, or is it compromised? We got to test the Speed 400 extensively for a day, and suffice to say, we have the answer to all these questions, and more.

    Buy the Speed 400 now or wait for the Scrambler 400X, what’s your suggestion?

      Scrambler 400 x is a better deal, especially for tall riders, if Triumph prices it right, around 2.45-2.55 ex showroom.

      It’s noticeably vibey between 4,000-6,000rpm, so if you’re maintaining a steady/constant pace, the handlebar and pegs get quite buzzy.

    • @RRP1992
      @RRP1992 Год назад

      @@shivank_bhatt so does it mean the vibes reduce after 6000 rpm or does the adrenaline and speed and engine noise make us ignore the vibes ?

    • @shivank_bhatt
      @shivank_bhatt Год назад +2

      @@RRP1992 It stays more or less the same. There’s just this constant buzz from 4,000rpm onwards. Outright acceleration, you don’t notice.

    Are the [pre production bikes mapped differently?
    Seems odd its buzzy at 4000 RPM.
    Other reviewers say not till 6000 RPM one said not till 7000 RPM.
    I just wonder if the production bikes are sorted.
    Guess we see next week

    • @autoX
      @autoX  Год назад

      These are very much the production bikes. Vibrations start building up from 4,000rpm and then they get more and more prominent as the revs rise. In this case, we were riding in the rain, maintaining a steady cruise of 70-90km/h, and that's when you notice there's this constant buzz from the bar and pegs.

    • @drd3816
      @drd3816 Год назад

      @@autoX thanks for the reply
      I have owned some buzzy singles so I expect some of that.
      It’s subjective but if the bike feels like DR650 on the highway I won’t be buying it.
      I just finished 25,000 on a Honda Rally 250 and highway speeds 115km were a bit buzzy but ok. 130km topped out so I want a little more power for the occasional highway section. Will be interested n seeing how the RE Himalaya compares to the Triumph scrambler 400X. I hope RE releases the new Himalaya soon to be able to compare bikes.
      I will be following your channel to see what you think of both bikes
      Cheers

      You can search for the blog on team bhp. They have mentioned it there.
      "The fuel tank capacity is 13 litres and assuming fuel efficiency in the ballpark of 27 - 28 km/l, this should be good for about 250 - 270 km before the bike requires a refill. Slightly frugal highway riding might help it nudge closer to the 30 km/l mark but these are all company-claimed figures and we did not get the chance to test this in the real world with the reliable 'tank to tank' method. Do note that the Triumph Speed 400 is E20 compatible."
