    Hi! What an amazing video, thanks for the impressions. Do you know how many Skoda trains will enter service this friday, and do you have an estimate how quickly it will happen that the current ER2`s are getting rare? Planning to visit Latvia over Easter and would love to have a chance to check out both types :)

      Hi! Thanks for the feedback! 🙂 Strict date when ER2 trains will be phased out is not known yet, but most probably it will be not earlier than summer 2024. I think you will have a chance to explore both of them 🙂

      Still in service, but Škoda 16Ev trains just got permission to be used in passenger service.
      Latvian Ministry of Transport also promised that new trains will start replacing ER2/ER2T rolling stock in the first weeks of December 2023.
      Those won't be replaced all at once, but rather one by one with a 1 to 1.5 weeks interval (or my more pessimistic prediction: 2 to 3 weeks).
      So there's still a chance to catch them during the beginning of 2024, maybe even during the spring time of year.

    Jā. Šis ir labs video! Lai gan šogad esmu vairāk ar auto pārvietojies nekā ar vilcienu, bet tomēr biju pāris reizes braucis.

    Hi Vlad, I have a request for you - if you can, can you make a video of railway infrastructure of the 19th century (up to 1915) around Riga? There are many items being used and in abandoned conditions such as old stations, turning tables for the locomotives, water towers, old tunnels, bridges, depots, and even the metal structures that use recycled old railway tracks (you can find the year of manufacture)? Maybe a separate video for Riga tramways, of the same theme? Thanks in advance!

    Hi, new subscriber. Thanks for these interesting diesel and electric trains. Is it Standard gauge in Latvia?

    • @Aviationvlad
      @Aviationvlad  10 месяцев назад

      Hi, Welcome aboard! 🙂 Nope, we have 1520mm gauge a.k.a “russian gauge”.
