  • @markreams3192

    Under normal circumstances a sway control may not be needed. With heavy crosswinds and passing semis I wouldn’t travel without it. I tow a Lance 1995 travel trailer with my Tacoma and use a combo weight distribution and sway control hitch. It works very well and backing up with this system is not an issue. I have Timbren springs installed on rear which I highly recommend if you’re towing anything with greater than 500 of tongue weight. I’ve towed cross country twice with this set up. My only days of concern were with high winds. Additional transmission cooling should have a thermostat. That Toyota 6sp transmission doesn’t really like running too cool. Toyota doesn’t really have a problem with it running close to 230 degrees according to another channel that consulted Toyota about it on towing heavy with a Tundra. By the way Toyota removed the trans cooler on later gen 2 Tundras. What was your GCVW, tongue weight and trailer weight not counting cargo in the bed?

    Usually when that happens with hotels (and I’m basically alone) offer cash and ask nicely if it’s possible to crash on the floor of a conference room or something. “Be outta your hair by 6am” or whatever. They are usually very accommodating and understanding of the situation especially if traveling without kids.

    Question for you on the upgraded transmission cooler. I have a 2017 TRD Off Road and wanted to know if it will work with my 2017. I clicked on the link you provided on your posted but it's telling me that it will not work with it. Your truck is only one year newer than mine, it should work right? One more thing my truck has been modified in so many ways with 35" tires bumpers roof top tent and 5.29 gears. I'm going to be towing from NM to TX in about a week from now. I should be fine if I don't have that cooling fan, huh?? I'm worried that I may break down if I don't have something like this installed.

    Hi how you doing I just wonder which truck do you like better, Toyota Tacoma or the Honda Ridgeline. Or you just like both of them for whatever reason. So if you had to choose which one has a better engine.

    • @YuriyMotso
      @YuriyMotso  2 года назад +3

      Two separate questions, Which vehicle I like and which has the better engine.
      I come from a sports car background. Turbocharged fast sedans and wagons. When I bought my first home I got a 2004 Tacoma off road and fell in love. I have been a Tacoma guy since then having three Tacoma’s. But over the years I realized I didn’t use the truck for the capabilities that it offered. So before I bought a new truck I decided to research the competition and test drive the vehicles. I thought the Honda was going to disappoint and so I left it for the last vehicle that I tested. Needless to say I fell immediately in love. Best seating position, best HP at the time in its class, best seating for people with families and need to put kids in the back and highest fuel economy. All things that I needed and were important to me. So I have since moved away to the Honda because the Toyota is the truck everyone buys but the Honda is the truck everyone needs.
      As for best engine, they are different enough that you would have to determine what’s best for you. The Toyota I believe is a timing chain while the Honda is a timing belt. So less maintenance long term with Toyota. However Honda is quicker, more efficient and quieter.

      @markandrews5813 2 года назад

      @@YuriyMotso thank you for answering that me.
      I have another question to ask you.
      What's the best way from getting your Honda Ridgeline stolen. What would you recommend as far as devices to use.
      Thank you so much.

    • @YuriyMotso
      @YuriyMotso  2 года назад +1

      @@markandrews5813 😂 At first glance I read, "Whats the best way getting your ridgeline stolen." 😆
      But specifically I am concerned with the question. The vehicle is pretty difficult to steal. it requires having the key fob as its keyless. So part of my concern is, what would be the reason you need to worry about someone stealing your vehicle?
      Honestly, best options are keeping it in a garage and don't leave it running. As it turns out, once its on anyone can take it and drive off without the keys as I found out in one of my other videos.
      if you are really concerned about theft, buy one of those Apple air tags and place it on your vehicle in a place that is impossible to find. That way if its stolen, you can find it. Its like the apple version of tile except its much better because there are more apple products in the world that can communicate to your tag giving you a more accurate location. www.apple.com/us/shop/go/airtag/?&mnid=jXvaccHi-dc_mtid_1870765e38482_pcrid_78202924005763_pgrid_1251244780108072_&cid=aos-us-kwbi-btb--slid---product-&mtid=1870765e38482&aosid=p238
      If that's not a good option, add additional alarm system.
      Sorry if the response is not what you expect but these days I'm not so much concerned about theft. vehicles are more difficult to steal but if someone wants it bad enough they will make a way.

      Well I guess I'm old- fashion when it comes to these new cars now days.

    I have the exact same interstate 14' trailer. I towed the trailer 2800 miles with my '17 tacoma. The trailer was lightly loaded. I will never do it again. The poor little engine was revving consistently at 5000 RPM's. The Rocky mountains was a nightmare. Cruise control would not bring the RPM's down. I had to constantly work the throttle to get it to shift up. Basically the whole trip was in third gear. I can't stress enough how painful the trip was. This truck is not designed for long distance towing. Took me way longer because I was going 40MPH in a 75MPH zone.
