Thank you very much for this interesting video. I had the opportunity to visit Firenze 5 years ago. The Medici family is still very present in this beautiful city. Cosimo and Eleonore are very interesting representatives of that powerful family.

I first saw a copy of the painting of Eleanor of Toledo in my speech teacher's house, and I was completely fascinated by this mysterious woman with her son. This fascination continued until now, and having watched this video, it has answered the many questions that I have had. Thank you for this most interesting and educational video! Thank you for this very interesting and nice video. I have noticed that you showed many wonderful portraits; I love portrait painting and I would appreciate very much if you could identify the paintings in your next videos, I am sure many of your viewers are art lovers like me and would appreciate the information. Thank you. Regards from Italy.
There’s an excellent book, “Murder of a Medici Princess” that I highly recommend about Eleanor of Toledo, Cosimo de Medici and the truly grotesque fate of their children. Great presentation! Thank you!
Thanks Jennifer 😊
Missing my lovely Firenze
I've never been to Florence, but it's on my bucket list! Thanks 😊

Cosimo De Medici was known for his infidelity. Cosimo I de Medici wasn't. In fact, they shared a kind of great "epic" love, they were always together and couldn't stay away from each other for long time; due to this Eleonora was even able to cry or get "crazy". When she died Cosimo was heartbroken and then he had other stories and even an other wife: Camilla Martelli, but she was never considered such a wife, kept hidden and then sent to some monasteries. Even Camilla married Cosimo just for economy reasons but she never had anything at the end (Cosimo I de Medici died early).
While Cosimo de Medici, one of the first Medici giving glory to the family was considered for his infidelity to his wife Contessina.
Is that a painting of the beautiful Eleanor featured above?
It's an artistic interpretation! 😊
❤️❤️🇺🇸
Thanks Linda 😊
Ok.. back up.. 3:07 , Cosimo remained *Relatively* faithfull ? Can you elaborate? Lol
I respectfully say they were all a slimy bunch as they still are today...elitists!😖
Quite possibly more so back then! Thanks Gem 😊
