    Hi Rhea, was the 3 extracurriculars you listed the only ones you sent on the common app? Also, why did you include figure skating even though it doesn't match your theme? Thank you for the vid, it was very helpful!

    • @rheadhar24
      @rheadhar24  Год назад

      Hi! Thanks for watching my video & the question:
      Yes, these 3 were the only ones I listed because I wanted my application to be extremely focused and I included a lot of detail for each extracurricular in the explanation portion.
      The reason I decided to include figure skating instead of another extracurricular that aligned with my interest in the gender gaps pertaining to public health was because I have been a competitive figure skater for 15 years, and I spent almost all of my free time at practice, competing, and traveling for competitions. I thought this was an important piece of information to include because figure skating is part of my personality and values. I also think it's interesting to have 1 or 2 things outside of the "main theme." This was also where I listed all of my awards & accomplishments for figure skating.
      Hope that helped!

    Hiii, thanks for the video! I wanted to ask you what essays did you need to write to get into these colleges? I looked at the transfer application and couldn’t find a usual common app essay there, so I assume that it’s not required unlike at the first year application?

    • @SomeRandomHobo44
      @SomeRandomHobo44 Год назад

      it's been a moment since i graduated from my undergrad, but when you transfer in the states, you have to go through the common app again. Additionally, each school should have their own specific essays.

    • @rheadhar24
      @rheadhar24  2 года назад +3

      Hi! They are from my first 6 months in college. Personally, I focused on what I was doing in that first year of college to really build a theme and center my application. Figure skating could be consider a mix of both because I have been skating my entire life.

    Hi , I just have a really simple questions . So for starters I’m currently attending a uni but am transferring to community college due to financial reasons . Do transfers from cc still have to explain their reasoning as to why they are leaving community college 😭 . I was just wondering if such a question still remain . And whether the essay of a cc student would be more about why they want to attend the university. It’s honestly just a general question and do I have to explain the reason as to why I left my previous institution…
    thank youuu

    What if my other interests and passions are sort of separate from my major? I am a human bio major for pre-physical therapy and ofc I am passionate about the human body and how the recovery/healing journey of the body impacts human beings…buttt I’m also super passionate about creative things like film/videography, dance, photography, etc. Should I include both on my website or try to tie those interest back to human biology?

    • @rheadhar24
      @rheadhar24  Год назад

      Hi! Great question: I think for a stronger application, it would be really interesting to see an application that ties these passions into your major, specifically how these interests strengthen your major! Film/videography, dance, photography, etc. definitely require critical analysis, learning about various theories, an understanding of political & social issues etc. that are really beneficial for a career in human bio for pre-physical therapy. I would pick one interest to elaborate on, so your application is more focused, narrow, and easier to the reader to follow. Hope this helped!
      Thanks for watching!

      Hi! I did my freshmen year at a large public university and then transferred to Northwestern University for my sophomore, junior, and senior year. Towards the end of the video I give more info on my acceptances, rejection, etc. For privacy reasons and to be respectful of my prior uni and my friends + professors that are still there, I won't explicitly name that university but it was a large public university. Hope this helped!

    • @katewexell
      @katewexell 2 года назад

      @@rheadhar24 Yes! This is very helpful. I have already started watching these transfer videos. Northwestern was my top choice for journalism and I ended up not getting in. I am now at a large state school, but just based on the experiences I've had there so far and the freshman orientation, it doesn't feel right and I feel absolute dread about moving in. This video is incredibly helpful to try to boost my application this time around and potentially be accepted into Northwestern for my sophomore year.
